Much as I dislike his abusive streak, I cannot fault him on the other aspects. He'd started to slowly move away from Mom's shadow, but that came to a halt and now with Sanam's assumed betrayal, he is leaving no stones unturned to sing glory songs for his mom.

Yes she must leave him now. He needs this space to think clearly. But he needs to be told everything. ..EVERYTHING!
