excited to read this and see how the story progresses
u are a amazing writer
thanx 4 the pm
update it soon pleaseee 😃

Hey. I read your PM as well and I responding on here.
Like I mentioned before, I haven't written the ending yet so I don't know if it will be happy but I am not in the mood for a sad ending or deaths or love triangles (not yet) so you can pretty much count on the OTP being the end game for now.
thank you for all your praise.

[Suddenly It's Magic]

Colorado City, 2002-04

Suddenly it was magic.

Okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration. But it was close! Zoya had no idea what this man did to her (yes, status updated from boy to man) but her body was still reeling from the reaction. Chemical, explosive, straight-out-of-a-tv-movie kiss was something that only existed in Zoya Farooqi's dreams until Asad Ahmed Khan made her see stars. And that wasn't even in the plans. How long had she waited to tell Benni? Two years. That is 730 days, 43,800 minutes, 2,628,000 seconds! And all it took was one smacking of HIS pouty lips against hers to make her forget all about Benni. Benni who?

The boy was trouble and if she knew any better, she would run for the hills. But she was young and naive and wore her heart on her sleeve. Now ready for his taking. Girl don't let your thoughts run wild. He was Benni's little brother. Benni! Benni who?

The match between good and evil Zoya was on full-swing when a loud noise brought her back down to earth.

"I will f**k whoever I want to!" screamed Asad.

Well, that escalated quickly. Were they talking about her? Surely not.

"Zoya, tell my brother how much you liked the kiss".

Oh they were talking about her alright.

"I..umm.."

"Quiet Zoya. Do not entertain this rude bas***d", Benni effectively blocked her out of view.

"Don't tell her what to do!" Asad barked.

"Don't jump my friends then!" Benni retorted.

"I..umm", Zoya said in a louder voice this time. "I am going to leave. Bye Asad".

She was out the door and halfway across the street when she realized she'd forgotten both her shoes and her greeting to Benni when she left. She would not be going back for either. Not after what a mess she made.

The next time she ran into Asad was about two years later. He was all grown up now. Benni was off to college. No surprise there. She realized now that her and Benni had just been a pipe dream. But with Asad, the attraction never lessened. It wasn't as if she could avoid him in such a cozy (translation: all up in your business, nosy-ass) town. His name and that of his sexual conquests was on everyone's lips. Not that she hadn't tried nights around town a few times herself. She had, not with Benni of course; with other men and very discreetly. But that spark, that fluttering she felt in the suburban basement senior year of school could never be replicated. Not with any man but Asad.

So, she took the dreaded first step and fished him out. Just like that, it was so easy to walk into the town's most popular (translation: only) bar and find him perched up on a high stool, enjoying being the center of attention. She had only settled herself into a secluded corner of the establishment when she felt his gaze hunt her down. He'd been looking at her with the same hungry eyes she saw in his parents' basement. She sank lower into her seat without thinking.

"Over here Zo", he yelled to the surprise of all bar patrons.

Zoya had little choice but to follow his cue and nurse the drink he tucked in her hands. Her pulse was working overtime to compensate for the impact of his flesh touching hers.

"Are you done playing with your whiskey?" He must have brought up this question when she was lost in la la land because Zoya was visibly startled.

Quick, recover! She told herself.

"Not unless you're done playing with me", she answered.

"I am not playing".

"Then what is it?"

"I want you", he told her with a straight face.

"You have me", she spoke just as seriously.

"Then let's go".

"Where?"

"I thought I had you", he retorted.

"You do".

"Then stop asking questions".

"There won't be a day on earth when you will make me".

"I have my ways".

"I look forward to it".

Shit, was she flirting with him? The miss-stuck-up-nerd-who-wouldn't-give-him-the-time-of-day-in-school was flirting with him?

"Well, what luck!"

"What luck what?"

"I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to your boobs".

"Then maybe I should talk to your dick, yeah?"

"Go right ahead woman".

"Ass", she chided him.

"You want me to talk to your ass?"

"Fine. You win. Asad, seriously where are we going?"

"I always win".

"Where are you taking me?"

"To heaven for starters. Then I'll do it again and again. Until you are writhing underneath me begging not to stop".

"Think I'll be alone in this?"
"Girl I am ready to go with you. Say the word".

Zoya could think of a million other come backs on the tip of her tongue yet nothing but the honest truth came out. "Okay".

"Okay?" Asad paused not quite believing what he heard. "Buckle up then".

The half hour drive it took to get from the dive bar to his walk up apartment was the thrill of her lifetime. Asad had one hand on the steering wheel and the other underneath the slit of her skirt. It wasn't inside the skirt exactly but it was riding high enough on her leg to be dangerous. Her veins were pumping extra hard and he could clearly tell as he eyed her neck from time to time.

What the heck was she doing with this man? She had no clue. She was under a spell that she couldn't seem to shake off no matter how hard she tried. Really, she wasn't trying very hard. He pulled over on the side of the road and lunged at her. She took him in like a welcomed homecoming, running her fingers through his hair as his kissed her sassy mouth for the hell of it. That had to be the reason. There was no way the most eligible bad boy in town would give her a second look unless he was bored. She'd take it. Two years was more than enough time to get over a crush and the fact that she hadn't told her desperate measures were needed to get this man out of her system. And if desperate measures included a hot steamy night with the man of her dreams, she would jump in (not to mention him) in a heartbeat. He could take her six ways to Sunday, that's how much she didn't resist.

"Take off your clothes". His words jolted her back to reality. So maybe getting naked on this side of the road wasn't the fairy tale love making she had in mind.
"No", she said flat out.

"Good. Because the way you're acting I wasn't sure you weren't ready to get down and dirty in my backseat. What are we? Fourteen?"

He had been close not to long ago. Idiot!

"The way I am going? I am acting like any aroused girl should. Are you one of those pigs who thinks girls don't f**k?"

"I f**k them on the regular. I should know".

"What a charming thing to say to your date!"

Shit, shit. She hadn't meant to use the D word. Whatever this was, was hardly a date.

"I'll take you home Zo".

"No"

"No?"

"I am a grown woman. I have made my decision".
He looked at her with one eyebrow raised.

"I want to spend the night with you".

He wasn't convinced.

"Look I am not asking you to marry me or have my babies. Don't freak out. The choice is yours. I can catch a cab if you would rather not".

"I don't think so. You're mine" and that marked the first of many nights he would spend with Zo.

TBC...

I personally love sad endings, open endings, pretty much any endings that do not contain a proposal, a wedding, or a baby. I have my track record to prove it. I used to write under the penname DonnaHarvey on India Forums before. A lot of the stories ended badly. But these days my life is chirpy (knock on wood) so my stories have followed suit.
Try tragic endings one more time. You may end up appreciating them.

I hear you woman. My work has been slow so I have the time but it is expected to pick come next week. Maybe the spring will change things. I am praying for spring like there is no tomorrow. -20C is not my kind of weather.
