"Nandani! I have finally discovered our next stop!"
"Stop! Just stop. It better not be something overwhelming because I am seriously done being a FBI agent. I mean for God's sake I am a gossip corner journalist, who loves writing juicy stories not a cop who doesn't undercover bullshit!" I complained as I took a sip of my hot chocolate.
"Nandani! Seriously, just stop complaining because journalists out there are dying to live the life that you are living and look at you sitting here getting upset about your job." Stephanie said as she sat right across from me, in my office.
"Step! I really don't want to argue about it because guess what it definitely isn't worth it. So, just spill the beans and tell me what do I have to do?" I as I put my hair in a bun.
"Well, Ms. Irritated guess what! Your next stop is New York." She said with her mouth open, sparks in her eyes. I get it she was trying to create suspense whatsoever; but obviously it wasn't working because so what if it's New York. I don't care because they might just ask me to be some stupid undercover agent of some President or governor. Arghh. So annoying.
"To do what?" I asked bluntly looking at her straight in the eye.
"Well, have you heard the news about the famous actor Manik Malhotra; known as MT."
"Yeah! The guy who once used to be really famous until like three months ago he started rejecting offers, haven't signed any contact, is almost about get bankrupt and is not giving away any reason about his situation. Oh! And he have no past in serious romantic relationship, so what is it that is bothering him so much and making him give away his hardworking, built up career." I said as I leaned back on my chair and sipped my coffee.
"Wow. You got this down, you know what's up with MT!" she winked at me
"Oh please! Relax. It's all over the news everyone knows that, even Al's four month old knows that. But you didn't answer my question what do I have to do?"
"Well, you pretty much answered your own question." She looked at me smirking. Right when she said that and gave me the look, I was finally able to put the puzzle pieces together. Omgod, Omgod, no no no no no no! How could they? Ohh hell no.
"Step! Stop! Don't! Even! Let's just not! I mean No! the answer is NO!"
"Nands please, no one can do this better than you. Like NOONE." She was now pleading and begging but no, I am never going to dig in someone's personal life and put them on blast like no, I am not about to do that.
"Nands, what are you thinking? And honestly, think about it New York, lively nights, partying, living it up, snow, their famous pizza and hot chocolate. Life is officially been made."
" I am not about that life." My emotionless reply
"Oh come'on Nands, don't be a spoiled sport. Just go and have fun. Okay fine how about we make a deal if its too personal or emotional we will not publish it."
Now that sounds more like it. I mean I don't mind investigating it is super interesting and is totally grabbing my attention. I would love to find out the reason behind all this sadness and all. Honestly, not to brag or anything but I am pretty good at what I do, so I think I got this really good.
"Deal" I offered my hand to make it official.
"Deal" step replied.
