SaHil FF: A Tangled Love ... Chapter 9...
Sanam spoke in great length with her uncles the next morning. While she remained the owner of Dilshaad Constructions, she changed the proprietary rights of her uncles' divisions over to them. Regardless of her unsure status of her marriage to Aahil, they had a plan for the company. And she had a plan for her life.
She had her Plus2 qualifications, and she was going to get a business degree part time, while learning the ropes of the business from her uncles. She never wanted to be dependent on Aahil and his family drama again.
However, she also had another plan. One that formed in her mind since an old woman met her outside the Khan Villa when she returned from that ill advised trip to a relative's wedding.
***flashback***
She had just got out of the car, when a woman appeared at the gate, asking to meet her. Sanam recognized the woman from the cleaning staff at the company's hotel, when she spent the night with Aahil.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you like this beta. But I heard rumours that you and Aahil babu aren't in good terms anymore... I must tell you some important things about Aahil Babu. I wanted to tell you that morning, but I was rather afraid...I was part of the staff of the Nawab's house back then, before Begum Tanveer changed all the staff.
When Aahil was small, he was extremely close to his mother, the first, Begum Surayya. She was a lovely person, much loved by all. Nawab Sahab was a different man back then, very happy.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a cancer of her womb and died too early. The whole house grieved badly, beta. It was heartbreaking to see Nawab sahab cry openly. It was then that Aahil babu started being more like a man, than a little child. He tried hard to make things comfortable for his Abbu, to be good and more responsible, taking charge of his sisters and helping them through their grief.
But the Nawab sahab was too far gone in his grief to spare some time for his sad children. Out of guilt, he found another mother for them. It shocked everyone when he remarried, so incongruous an act for a man grieving his dead wife.
But it was all the Nawab did, he married Begum Tanveer and that was all. He wanted no part of her for himself, he continued to drink himself to stupor and hid away in his study day and night. He brought a new mother for his children. He didn't want a new wife.
It was Aahil babu who made Begum Tanveer's life easy. He made the sisters accept her and he himself went out of his way to make her happy. Because he thought that was what his Abbu wanted of him.
But suddenly one day, an old acquaintance of Nawab sahab appeared, telling tales of Begum Tanveer's past life. Nawab sahab became enraged that she had a child out of wedlock and hid it from him. He suspected that she was after his wealth and threatened his own children's inheritance.
But he discovered that his children were far closer to her than himself. And he didn't have the patience to win them over. In his brashness, he punished Aahil for being close to his stepmother. A lot. All the servants used to cry when we heard Aahil babu being whipped in the storeroom. Some of us sat with him in the dark through the night so he wouldn't be alone but we couldn't for long. Poor Aahil babu was so traumatized. He thought he was doing the right thing the whole time.
But one night, he was locked up longer than usual. I know because I stayed outside the window with him after giving him some biscuits. He had just fallen asleep when Begum Tanveer came rushing into the room, making a servant carry Aahil into his bedroom.
I'm not sure what happened next, but the next morning the house was crawling with police, because Nawab sahab was shot in his bedroom. They didn't tell the servants anything, but the rumour was that Aahil babu had defended his Ammi from being beaten and shot his own father with a gun.
The next day, we were all given cash gifts and relieved of duty for a new set of servants. That's all I know. I always thought Aahil babu was a sweet young boy, but a victim of his circumstances. You seem to be a good person beta... I hope you help him be happy. He's had a terrible childhood.. He may have learnt bad habits growing up , but he's no murderer, beta..."
***end of flashback***
Sanam had been floored by those revelations. And the vision of a young Aahil being beaten and punished for being kind and sweet made her weep. So she made a decision.
She was going back to Aahil.
But before that, she was going to set her plan in motion.
***
She sat draped over her chaise lounge, eating gulab jamun, when she heard her phone ring.
"Begum Sahiba, this is Constable Jalal. So sorry to disturb but I have important news. The inspector has reopened the Khan family murder case. Just to warn you, they are going to call you in for questioning soon..."
Tanveer choked on her sweet and coughed convulsively. Khan murders?? This must be Dilshad's work... But what can she do? I destroyed all the evidence! ... But she had taken Sanam and Haya... Did she see anything??
Her hackles rose. Like a cat whose territory was threatened, she hissed and spat, but had to ultimately figure out an escape plan. She furiously made phone calls to liquidate all the wealth she can get her hands on, the soonest possible. Everything she could get her hands on...
***
Aahil was having a bad day at work. He woke up this morning to the news that his company's stock price was dropping fast, and no one was sure why. Some partners were selling their shares out and not giving him the chance to buy it from them.
Running his hands through his hair, he spared a moment to think of Sanam. She still wasn't talking to him, but her tears that evening made him sure that he wasn't losing her. He didn't know what to do but wait.
But his company needed him for now. He met with his lawyers, to make sure his company shares were in his name, all 49% of it, Ammi had 25% and miscellaneous partners had the rest. So safe to say, they still had majority of shares. Sanam had a plot of land in Bhojpur in her name and he had a couple of houses on his as well. What happens to the God-forsaken family property he couldn't care less.
Then the hammer fell on his head. Rehan's voice was shocked when he called,
"Aahil bhai, Begum Sahiba has just sold her shares of the company! And it looks like we're facing a takeover attempt! Aahil bhai...! "
Aahil hung up. He made another phone call to his stock broker who confirmed the news.
Someone else just bought up all 51% shares of his company. His company.
The phone started ringing off the hook, strange numbers ringing him and his PA's numbers, and he ignored them all. Whoever this entity is, he will deal with it tomorrow. Face it like a man Aahil, his father would shout...
His properties still belonged to him, his bank balance was sound, the mansion was still in Ammi's name. All is not lost... except what was my own hard work...
He really wished he could just sit with Sanam right then...
He turned off his office lights and went home. Nothing left to do for today...
He walked into the mansion to an eerie silence. He made a beeline for Ammi's room, wanting to calmly ask why she had sold her shares away like that without telling him. He found her shouting down the phone to someone who was to do something for her.
"Ammi..?"
She looked shocked for a moment before recovering... "Aahil beta... I'm sorry about the shares.. I didn't realize the buyers were buying up all the shares. But all is not lost? I'm told the company who bought it is one with good records. Are you mad, Aahil? "
"You shouldn't have done this Ammi, you should have at least given me the chance to buy you out... "
"But you wouldn't have let me sell it at all!!!"
"But why is the sudden need to sell it Ammi?"
"Not just that Aahil, did you know Nawab sahab's ancestral land is filled with poor people? They have made settlements there and are not paying any rent! We can't make anything of that land?! And also I want the deeds to these 3 properties, ummm... 2 farm houses and an empty plot of land in Bhojpur. Why don't I have those? Why are they in your name??"
Aahil looked at her strangely. Why this urgency?
"Ammi, I bought some properties as investments with my profits. SO they are under my name. In case Shazia and Nazia get married? Why the sudden need for the audit?"
Tanveer bristled audibly. She didn't want to think of those brats at all. She wanted to cash it all and get out of town. But she's not finding a lot of loose cash available to her. And she hated it that she had to ask from Aahil.
"Whatever Ammi, do what you like. I'm going to bed. I just lost control of my own company today, and I can't do anything about it."
Aahil walked out of her room but stood stunned by the entrance hall.
There stood Sanam, his wife.
With suitcases.
She came back, he thought, as he smiled happily, Silver linings ...

"Sanam... You came back...!!" and he whisked her away to their bedroom before Ammi could create a huge drama tonight.
Leading her into their room, he locked the door and leaned against it, taking in his fill of her. He walked up to her and crushed her in his arms.

He gripped her tightly and ran his hands all over her. She felt his touch like a burn through to the skin, urgent and consuming. He cupped her face, tilted her to face him and whispered softly, " I missed you my dearest..." before kissing her thoroughly.

Aahil kissed her over and over, desperate and urgent, not giving her a chance to breath. She forced her face away to catch some air, and he moved to her neck.
"Aahil..."
"Don't stop me Sanam... Whatever happens tomorrow, we'll deal with it tomorrow. I'm not going to let anything get in our way tonight. So, no. No talking, no thinking. Just let me love you..."
Sanam gave in. He undressed her gently, caressing every inch of flesh he exposed. And he watched her eyes light up with desire as she threw his shirt off. She touched him gently, soft hands feeling every bit of him, watching his reaction with half lidded gaze. Every harshly drawn breath and clenching muscle made her feel powerful and beautiful.
He bore with the torture until he couldn't anymore. Turning the tables, he ravished her with hungry kisses, touching her intimately and possessively. Not an inch of her was spared. Nothing prepared her for the most intimate kiss, which made her moan aloud. Covering her mouth quickly, she stifled her moans as he took her to new heights of ecstacy.
As she shivered and gasped, he joined her intimately and thrust urgently. Breathless and nerves shot with dizzying sensations, they collapsed in each others arms, in the eye of the storm.
To be continued...
