Young love is so sweet, so exciting. You discover all these bubbly feelings one by one and your life practically changes overnight. There is something very special about young love. Every first in the relationship is remembered and reminisced for years to come. First hug, first kiss, first gift.

With love that is strong and pure and above all things that are material, all these firsts are more intense. More meaningful. More personal.

In Manik and Nandini's case, their love is so pure, so true that they understand each other without speaking much. Their love goes way beyond the feeling of crushing' or being infatuated with someone. It is so beautiful and it comes across in everything they do for each other. Nandini's first gift to Manik was a lamp that brought stars into his personal space. His she remembered' was enough to show how much that small lamp meant to him. The time they fought, he didn't destroy the lamp in his anger when he easily could have. That first gift meant so much to him because she understood him, she understood that he hid under so many layers of meanness and monstrosity and that is why he entrusted her to protect him.

When the time came for Manik to give Nandini a gift, what did he choose to give her? A Bracelet. He called it a tie. A tie in musical notation is a curved line connecting the heads of two notes of the same pitch indicating that they are to be played as a single note. There is so much depth behind that gift.

His choice of gift is a bracelet, a chain. He knows she loves her jewellery so he has given her something she can wear.

A bracelet in simple terms is a chain. Chain's bind. And he wants her bound to him AND him to her. Humesha. And the symbol is a tie. That connects the two of them. Music connects the two of them. Their love connects the two of them. Such that they are one and are meant to be one. How profound is that? He did not give her flowers and chocolates for those are the norm. He gave her a piece of himself and he, being Manik, took a piece of her with him. Because they can do that to each other. Because they are connected to each other. Because they are bound to each other. Because they are tied to each other.

A first gift is very special and in their case, it is extraordinarily special. Because it is not materialistic or the norm. It is personal. It is heartfelt. It is thoughtful. And it possibly is the best gift that he could have given her because without using many words, he told her what she means to him. Again. 😊

You highlighted the one thing that had to be the highpoint of yday,s epi but the friendzoning of nandini stole the entire attention.
The bracelet wasnt just a gift, it was the acceptance acknowledgement of the bond that exists between them. Manik does so much without saying much, he is almost confessing without any words. How beautifully he connected music n his love, hats off to CVs for this.
Who needs those 3 words. The two as dhruv once said the world ceases to exist when the two are together.

I watched the scene so many times because of the many layers of emotions that it displayed. It was definitely the highlight of the episode for me. CV's have chosen to make MaNan's story very mature, very deep. Very different. Kudos to them for that 👍🏼

Amazing post👏!!! Completely agree with you😃

This show is such a refreshing change for me (considering I used to watch saas bahu dramas all the time) and I love how they are dealing with things that teenagers face in their lives.

The journey of Manik and Nandini as individuals to MaNan has come a long way and in Dhruv's words has been eventful. One of my first fully watched episodes of this show was the diwali one. And she gives him the gift, the lamp, his stars. He was touched and happy that she remembered and I, a first time viewer, could see that. And she was happy. Happy seeing him happy, seeing him smile, seeing him relaxed. Parth and Niti have done an amazing job with Manik and Nandini. Hats off to them for such brilliant performances!!!

Back to the topic, when he started off, by asking her about the tie, I was like "what? Why is he asking her that?" And very soon I came to know why. He was amazed seeing she knew what he was talking about and that she agreed to try to play an instrument she did not know.

The way he slid the bracelet through her hands was so sweet! And when he says "Since we have a new beginning, mujhe tumhe kuch aisa dena tha jho na mera ho aur na tumhara, jho humara ho." (Something like this, don't know the exact lines. Lol) I was touched. This guy, he adores her, he loves her. He wanted to give her a gift that would keep them connected. Something that she could keep and wear as you said. Something that he could keep and wear.

This was my favourite scene in today's episode. Thank you for making a topic on this. All the topics that I read were based on the can we be friends conversation, glad to see this😳😃

Awww. This was my favourite scene from yesterday's epi. From the look on his face when he asked her if she knew what a tie was, to how cutely he asked her if she could play it, to how smartly he joined her - like the tie and played it together with her to sliding the bracelet on to her wrist :) uber cute!!

The way he put the bracelet on her was adorable, wasn't it? and note the reaction when she turned around, she was awed, humbled even at the love and at the thoughtfulness. I was repeating in my head, 'kiss him already, kiss him!'

I Knew I was forgetting something! Ish
Nandini's reaction, so sweet it was!!! And I too was like "Kiss him! And if not hug him at least!"

But we got none

He played it with her yeah? I assumed that. They never showed that properly.
