Part 3"Tumhe mere sath waat guzarna hoga"
Did he just say that?
I looked at him with dropped jaw.
"Aise kya dekh rahi ho? Waqt guzarne ko kaha hai, RATH guzarne ko nahi" he said stressing the word Rath.
Ok...I was embarassed but I can't give up. Can I?
"Kisi ajnabi ke sath waqt guzarna, kisi jaanewale ke sath rath guzarne se kam nahi hai" I tried to cover up. Did I sound lame? May be. Who cares! I shrugged.
"Wah kya logic hai!" He definitely sounded sarcastic. "Par itna to thei hai ke tum mujhe ajnabi manti ho"
"Ajnabi ko ajnabi nahi manungi to aur kya manungi?" I stated the obvious.
"Isiliye to maine kaha ke tumhe mere sath waqt guzarna hoga"
"Why would I do that? Care to explain?"
"Kyunki jahan tak mai dekh sakta hun yahan aas paas koi aur ajnabi nahi hai jo meri point prove karne keliye ek sherni ke sath waqt guzarne ka risk lega. So its me jise ye stunt azmana padega"
"How dare you call me a sherni?"
"Harkatein to tumhari aisi hi hain!" He dared to smirk again. I so want to kill him, but bound by laws.
"Mai tumhare paas bathhi kyun kar rahi hun. Shut your stupid mouth and just leave me alone" I folded my arms across my chest yet again and turned tothe opposite direction.
"Dar gayi South Indian"
I know he was trying to instigate me. Does he think I am a fool? I ain't giving up so easily. I sat unfazed.
"Waisa tareeqa achha dhoonda hai haar se bachne ka. Jantiho ke mai apni point prove karke jeet jaunga, isiliye baat na karne ka bahana karke peeche hat gayi. Challenge se itna hi dar lagta hai to pehle hi bata deti. Mai aise hi peeche hat jatha"
Now this was too much to handle. Baat meri ego pe agayi hai yaar,aise thodi na chodungi.
"Mai.kisise.nahi.darti" I said emphasizing each word, but without looking intohis direction.
"Achha??? Mujhe to nahi lagta. Mujhse ankhein milane se dar rahi ho, challenge kya jeetogi?"
He had the audacity to say that? Dr.Ishita Iyer you can't lose to an aannoying stranger. Give it back to him. I told myself before turning to him in full rage, grabbed his collar, pulled him closer, looked into his eyes and said, "Mai kisi se nahi darti"
He was definitely shocked. I could see it in his expressions. See I won! I mentally applauded for myself. Now my turn to smirk Mr.Stranger and I smirked triumphantly and left his collar, pushing him away.
"Boo...is baar mai sach me dar gaya"
I smirked again.
"But mai bhi itni asani se haar maannewalon me se nahi hun. Ye challenge mai jeet kar dikhaunga"
"Dekhte hain!" I said challenging him.
"So challenge accepted?"
"Yes of course!" I said matter of factly. But what was the challenge about? I really don't remember. But whatever it is I would do anything to defeat this annoying stranger.
"To iska matlab tummere sathwaqt guzarne keliye tayyar ho?"
"Ye maine kab kaha?" I asked baffled.
"Abhi to kaha ke challenge accepted"
"Haan magar..." I was trying to formulate a reply and he interrupted me.
"Yahi to challenge tha ke mai tumhare sath waqt guzarke ye prove karunga ke ajnabi bure nahi hothe"
Omg Ishita! How could you forget how all the convo with this stranger started! Quickly find an excuse to escape the situation. But what a out the challenge? Are you giving up so easily? That can't happen! Does that mean you will spend time with this stranger? Never!!!! Challenge gayi bhaad me. Is ajnabi se chutkara pane keliye kuch soch.
Just then an announcement bell rang and a lady announced something in Kannada. I am sure my train must have arrived. Thank you Murugana for saving my grace.
Quickly taking control of the situation, I straightened myself, pointed my finger towards the speaker and with a fake smile said, "My train you see! Sorry Ajnabi! I would have loved to spend time with you. But kya karein mujhe jana hoga. Ab tumhare liyetrain to miss nahi kar sakti na! Better luck next time" I did not wait to see his reaction. I just stood up and elegantly picked my bags, shrugged my shoulders and was about to make a move when the hindi translation of the announcement went on the speakers
"Attention Please! Train No.12213 Yesvantpur- Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC Duronto Express se janewale yatriyon ko soochit kiya jaata hai ke kisi durghatna ke kaaran ye train 4 ghante delay ki gayi hai. Asuvidha keliye khed hai"
Bang something definitely hit me. Sorry, ignore the literal meaning! Coz I can't explain how I am feeling at this moment.
Thud slipped my ELEGANTLY picked bag from my hands and thud fell Dr.Ishita Iyer's ego when she plopped on the same bench, that did not belong to her according to the stranger who was amusedly noticing her every move.
"Oh Wow! What a co-incidence! You were dying to spend time with me aur dekho uparwale ne tumhari sun li. Lagta hai tum bhagwan ki favourite ho. Nahi?"
Why Ishita Why? Why didn't you wait for the hindi version of announcement before fake admitting on his face that you would love to spend time with him. Murugana! You cheated me.
"Tch tch...train 4 ghante delayed hai. Aur mai janta hun ke you HATE waiting. Mere sath waqt guzarne keliye mar rahi ho. Sahi kehte hain log. Jo bhi hota hai achhe keliye hotha hai"
He was clearly jale pe namak chidkoing. I didn't want to react. Honestly I didn't know how to react.
"To chalein?"
"Kahan?" I asked bewildered.
"Waqt guzarne!"
"Maan na maan mai tera mehman. Na koi ata, na pata. Tumhe lagta hai mai aise hi kisi kesathwaqt guzar lungi?" tried to cover up but didn't sound much confident.
"Atha patha nahi janti, tabhi to mai ajnabi hun"
"Hamare culture me ajnabiyon ke sath waqt nahi guzarte. Aur mai in cheezon ko bahut manti hun" this time sure sounded confident.
Bin pooche mera naam aur patha
Rasmon ko rakh kar pare
