Priyanka Chopra to play as Manyata Dutt in Manyata's Biopic

The much talked about debut home production of Priyanka Chopra is being rumoured to be based loosely on the life of Manyata Dutt's life.
The film titled Madamji', directed by Madhur Bhandrarkar, is said to be inspired by Dutt's life as an item girl turned wife of Sanjay Dutt.
Prior to her marriage to Sanjay, Manyata appeared in an item number in Prakash Jha's Gangajal'. However, Sanjay tried to persuade the producers of the film to drop the seductive song from the film.
India TV News reports that if Bhandarkar is really trying to portray Manyata in his film, then it is expected to generate controversy in coming months. But it depends how much content of the film resembles with Manyata's life.
It is likely Chopra herself will play the lead role in the film.

Too many biopics. Nobody will take them seriously anymore. They won't be epic like BMB or Mary Kom if they keep doing biopics on just any other person.

Seems like biopics are the flavor of the season in Bollywood; biopics of sportsmen/sportswomen, actors, an air hostess, etc...there's just too many that are waiting to be made. I just hope that the ones that do materialize, are actually well-made films.
