Sanyukta saw Randhir sitting in the canteen hiding behind a huge sheet of paper ...he looked engrossed in it...Sanyukta creased her brows trying to make out what Randhir was busy in...she walked upto him briskly and tapped on his shoulder...Randhir almost jumped out of his skin...he saw Sanyukta standing beside him...he quickly folded up the paper and hurriedly stashed it away in his bag, giving her a sheepish smile..." What was that paper? And why did you put it away? I want to see it?" Sanyukta said , there was a tinge of suspicion in her voice..." That was nothing...just the rough drawing of PKC's project...leave it Sanyukta...lets eat something...i am famished.." Randhir replied..
Sanyukta did not press the matter anymore...just glanced at him suspiciously and went away to order some food...
It was night and Sanyukta was in deep sleep, her dreams sprinkled with the times she had spent with Randhir , suddenly a noise woke her up...she looked around in darkness...again she heard sound of pebbles against her window...she ran up there, and looked out...it was Randhir standing below her window and was gesturing furiously at her , asking her to come down...Sanyukta sighed and shook her head at Randhir's madness...she knew she will have to go down else Randhir will come up...she carefully made her way from her room and quickly went upto randhir... "What is it Randhir? Are you mad? Taking such a risk...what if the warden caught you"
"well I was not...so stop worrying..." Randhir said and pulled Sanyukta into a warm hug
Sanyukta sighed against his chest and whispered, "so...you want to say something?"
"Hmmm...Sanyukta go and pack some clothes...make sure you pack some warm clothes...as it is going to be cold...and meet me by the gate in 15mins..." Randhir told her in one breath...
Sanyukta looked at him, as if she has seen a ghost...and said " Mind telling me what the hell are you planning? Are we eloping or something?"
"Don't be stupid Sanyukta...just do as I am saying...you will know..." Randhir smirked at her...he had a mischievous glint in his eyes...his look made Sanyukta feel excited too..
It was almost twenty minutes that Randhir was waiting for Sanyukta with his bike near the college gate and he was already getting impatient ..."can she ever come in time..." Muttered Randhir ...
" I am here Randhir..." Sanyukta ran towards him...panting a little as she lugged her heavy baggage...it looked as if she has packed belongings of a whole year...
"Sanyukta...we are only going for a few days and not years..." Randhir rolled his eyes...
"Its better to be prepared..." Sanyukta replied firmly..."Now please tell me your plan..."
"ok...here it is...we are going to Shimla...a road trip on my new bike..." He said proudly patting the seat of his bike...
Sanyukta's eyes gleamed with excitement ..."but Randhir...Shimla? why?"
"My dad has a place in Shimla...its empty now... since from next week our placement interviews are going to start...we will get too busy to spend quality time together...so I planned this trip...so that I can get to spend some time with you...you know..just us...far away from everyone..." he replied softly...
"You are crazy..." Sanyukta replied laughing...
"Learnt from you ..." Randhir replied and kissed her forehead..."now get on quickly!...i don't want anyone to catch us"
As Randhir started the bike, Sanyukta went to sit behind him...she put her hand lightly on Randhir's shoulder...Randhir braked hard making her fall over him..." What the hell was that Randhir Singh Shekhawat?" Sanyukta exclaimed angrily and slapped him on his shoulder...
"Sanyukta, you are not sitting on a bicycle...its a bike...and also my improvised one...and I am definitely not going to drive at a snail pace...as that would be an insult to this bike...so sit properly ..."Saying that, Randhir took Sanyukta's hands and made her wrap them tightly around his waist...
Randhir kick started the bike and they zoomed into the night ...as the cool December breeze blew across Sanyukta's face , she buried her face into Randhir's back and closed her eyes...she liked the warm smell of his leather jacket... "Randhir...wont we get into trouble when the authorities will find us missing from college..." Sanyukta said suddenly...in her excitement she had completely forgotten about the impending trouble that might be caused with their sudden disappearance...
"Do you think I am an idiot?...i have already informed our college office...I told them that we need to go to our respective homes to collect some other important documents for our placement interviews ..." Chuckled Randhir...
"Now I believe that you deserve to be the Rank no.1 " Sanyukta laughed...
"Seriously? So finally I can get over the fear of you trying to snatch that position away from me" Randhir teased her...
"Shut up!...you know ...i will never back out from competing you..." Sanyukta replied back
"I know...and I don't want that ever to happen...life will be so boring otherwise..." laughed Randhir...
"Mmm...I love you Randhir!..." Sanyukta said hugging him ...
As their bike zoomed across the almost empty streets of Roorke...moving fast towards the highway...Sanyukta remembered their very first bike ride...how they drenched in rain had enjoyed every moment of it...but the situation was so different now...that time she did not know that she would one day fall so much in love with Randhir...and now they are in a relationship...and she hoped that they remain together like this forever...
" Sanyukta...dawn is about break any moment now...i will stop the bike at a place nearby...you will love that place... we can watch the sunrise from there ...I am sure its something you wont want to miss " Randhir said breaking into her thoughts...
Randhir stopped his bike near a bridge and asked Sanyukta to get down...he took her hand and led her near the railing of the bridge...he stood behind her...and put his arms around her waist ...Sanyukta leaned back against him... " Just a few seconds now..." He whispered against her ears...
It was the most beautiful scene she had seen in her entire life...and she knew it will be one of the most precious moments of her life...As dawn broke...the pink hue of the sky soon turned into a bright red and gold...a splash of soft golden glow spread across the entire place...Sanyukta's face broke into a smile as she took in the breathtaking sight... Randhir looked at Sanyukta mesmerised , as her face glowed in that golden hue of the sky ...Sanyukta saw him looking at her as she turned her face...she brought her face closer to him...and placed her lips on his...he pulled her closer to him and deepened the kiss...He ran his fingers through her hair as their lips moved against each other...Both seemed to want to freeze this moment and stay like this forever...as they broke apart , Randhir kissed on her cheeks...Sanyukta gave him a contended smile and said " wish we could stay here forever..."
" This is just the beginning of our journey Sanyukta...i promise ...you won't be disappointed" smiled Randhir hugging her close...
They were on the road for about 20mins when Randhir stopped the bike infront of a dhaba..." I know you will never tell me...but you are hungry...and so am I...so we will stop here and have something..." Randhir smiled..."we won't stop here too long as i want to reach my place in Shimla by night fall "
After half an hour they were again on road...as they crossed the border of Shimla...the narrow winding roads...the snow covered lanes, which glinted shades of pink and blue as the sun's rays reflected off it ...the snow capped mountains which adorned the skylines...the green pastures sprinkled with snowflakes...took their breath away...Sanyukta wrapped her shawl more around her, as she took in the glorious surrounding ...she felt as if heaven was right here...
"Its beautiful Randhir, i don't want this journey to end ever..." Sighed Sanyukta...
"May be we can go on a world tour on this bike...then our journey definitely wont end forever..." Said Randhir and laughed...
"You seriously know how to spoil the mood...I was not joking..." Fumed Sanyukta..
"Ok...I am sorry...but Sanyukta...our journey has not yet ended...so if you have any complaints do so after we return to FITE..." Smiled Randhir...
It was almost dusk when they reached Randhir's place in Shimla...Sanyukta saw Randhir has stopped infront of a beautiful bungalow...
"wow ! Randhir...this is gorgeous...its yours?...how come you never told me?" Sanyukta said in wonder...
"This was my Grandfather's ...my dad inherited it...so...I guess technically its mine too..."Randhir replied...
"Now come on...lets get inside...you wait at the porch...i will bring the keys...there is a spare under the mat of the caretaker's cottage...he is not here now...went to his village..."Saying this Randhir walked off towards a nearby cottage...
He returned after a few minutes with the keys and unlocked the door... " umm...sorry it's a bit messy and dusty...has been locked since ages..."
"Its fine...we can clean up a bit ..." Sanyukta smiled...
"Umm...yeah...sure...you start...I will just check the water and heater...also we need firewood...I will just be back..." Randhir smiled at her ..
As Randhir came inside after sometime...he saw Sanyukta standing infront of the window in his room...the window was frosted...and Sanyukta was making some patterns on the window with her fingers...and she was clutching a miniature wooden plane in her other hand...he silently came up behind her and put his arms around her encircling her ...she looked behind her and smiled at him...Randhir saw she has written "Sandhir" on the glass with heart signs...he hugged her more tightly and nuzzled against her neck...Sanyukta closed her eyes and said " Randhir , this plane was made by you?"... " Yeah...I was a kid then..." Randhir murmured ..."Lets eat something I am starving...and I will light the fire in fireplace"
Sanyukta went and sat near the fireplace, as Randhir lit it up...they ate the food that Randhir had brought...and Sanyukta began to flex her fingers near the flames of the fire place to take in the warmth...a smile lit up his face as she enjoyed the warmth of the flames ...she saw Randhir tinkering away with an old transistor...suddenly she heard a commentary coming from the transistor , the RJ was saying " The weather has turned beautiful and its is perfect to start our show of Romantic Hits of all time..." ...with a satisfied smile, that he was able to fix up the transistor Randhir came up to her...as he saw Sanyukta smiling at him, he knelt down infront of her, took her hands in his and kissed her palms...he then went forward and kissed on her forehead...he was about to go when Sanyukta stopped him and asked him to sit beside her...he sat by her and hugged her close...Sanyukta nuzzled into his neck...and then placed a small kiss on his neck...May be it was the wine they had or the weather , but both felt an indescribable need to hold on to each-other...a need to be with each other and never let go...Randhir slowly brought his lips near Sanyukta's, and then softly placed them onto hers...what started as a tender and soft kiss turned into a wild passionate one...somewhere in the background they heard the RJ announce the next track... "Zara Zara from the movie Rehna Hain Tere Dil Mein"...Randhir murmured " I love this song" against her lips...and he deepened the kiss...Sanyukta entwined her fingers around his hair and pulled him closer...she broke the kiss and replied "me too "...

Randhir drew Sanyukta back into his arms ...she saw unbridled passion in his eyes...the fire in her heart matched the passion he had in his eyes...her breathing got faster, as he brought her face near him for another kiss...his hands snaked around her waist , as his lips met hers and they drowned themselves into each other...

Randhir broke their kiss and began to place small kisses on Sanyukta's neck and ears...he trailed his fingers towards her hand and entwined her fingers in his ...he picked her up in his arms and she placed her arms around him resting her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat...as he carried her towards the big four poster bed in his room, she felt her heart skip a beat...Randhir placed her on the bed very carefully...he kissed her forehead tenderly...her breath hitched as she felt Randhir place a kiss on her throat...she clutched at Randhir's shirt and pulled him near her...she felt Randhir's hands tugging at her sweater...his hands fumbled as he tried to open the buttons of her sweater...she helped him unbuttoning them...soon he has thrown her sweater on the ground...his lips found hers again, as he kissed her with an unprecedented urgency...she moaned into his mouth as she responded with equal passion...he locked her legs between his pressing himself onto her...he entwined his fingers with hers as he continued kissing her...soon she began tugging at the zipper of his jacket...he helped himself out of that, throwing it away...he tugged at her kurti, revealing a part of her shoulder...he trailed his lips across her neck kissing her bare shoulder ...she shivered as she felt Randhir's fingers inside her kurti, making patterns on her bare waist...he tugged and pulled at her kurti and she gave in to his demand, thus throwing off her kurti...his eyes darkened as he saw Sanyukta's flushed face ...he ran his fingers across her bare shoulder, her waist, and trailed kisses across them...Sanyukta pushed him a little , she had a mischievous glint in her eyes, she turned a little and caught Randhir unaware , Randhir found himself pinned under her...Sanyukta began placing urgent kisses on his throat...she tugged at his shirt, and almost ripped it off him...Randhir groaned as he felt her kissing his bare chest...he wrapped his arms around her and brought her closer taking in the warmth of her body...with a swift movement he had her pinned under him, and his face broke into a smirk as he watched her confused face...he trapped her between his legs thus making it unable for her to move... "I always win" he whispered, and nipped her ears lightly...
Somewhere in the background the strains of the song still played ...

Somewhere far off in her head it played that what they were going to do is wrong...but in her heart it felt so right...this time she wanted to go with her heart...he had a questioning look on his face , awaiting her affirmation...she slightly nodded her head...he smiled at her and kissed her forehead...as he delved deep inside her she gripped his shoulder hard...she felt a bit of moisture tricking down her eyes...he looked up at her in concern and kissed away the tears...the lilting music of the song had long since faded away...but the strains of the melody still lingered in their head as they gave into their fiery passion...soon they fell asleep in each other's arms wrapped up in the blanket...tomorrow they will go back being as they were...two different individuals...but their souls will be joined forever...fate might bring them challenges but they know being together they can tide every odd circumstance...
