I think forum is pretty divided on the Salman- Tanna stand off today.
I just want to point out, that no matter how people perceive Salman;s behavior, the fact is that the industry works like this. The STARS, the bigger they are, the more you bend over, because they have their egos and their power in place. Vivek Oberoi is an excellent example of how taking up even for the right thing screws you over, especially if it is against a super star. Countless blind fans also revere all the STARS, irrespective of their behavior, whether it is them cheating on their wives, or them killing people, or them being the meanest and bitchiest people out there. That's the way the industry works, and no one dares take pangas with any of the big stars.
Now, is this the right attitude? No. it is not. I don't support it. At all. I feel these stars are not gods or anything that they should be shown respect. respect for what I wonder?
However, to be fair, BB is a show that is meant to follow this format of being put in all kinds of uncomfortable situations on national TV. You signed up for this and you got paid a big fat cheque to endure EXACTLY this kind of stuff. This is the 8th season, not the first. All previous seasons have been way more vicious in terms of name calling, and mud slinging. Dolly Bindra has said some super demeaning stuff to Shweta Tiwari on her character, so has Sky on Mahek Chahal, and so have a lot of other people. Things about their past have been raised, questions on their career choices have been raised, character assassination has been done over and over, be it a man or a woman, and people have been linked irrespective of their status outside of the show. You are literally at the mercy of the makers to show what they choose to show and it's not just Tanna, jokes have been made on everyone including Gautam-sonali-upen, Dimpy-Ali, Gautam-Diandra, Arya-Minissha, Soni-Upen, Upen-Sushant etc. Everyone knew they were signing up for any kind of jokes and mudslinging. This season compared to the others has been very mild on that front, if you ask me.
Also, if you are so affected by stuff, ask to be evicted and be nominated. I don't understand why people behave so shocked at scandalous stuff like they have never seen previous big boss seasons or don't know the format of the show or don't realize that scandals make TRP's so makers will milk every slight chance they get and make angles where there are none. Salman is given a script. He is too big a star to care to make jokes on certain people or like or dislike any of them personally. He is doing his job for which he is paid a shit ton of money. And bb contestants are paid a shit ton of money to be put on national tv and be made fun of. So i'm sorry if I don't sympathize with any of them for whatever.
Also, to be fair to Salman, ex contestants have said how he bashes Gautam and Puneet almost every episode but it is all edited out. I don't think what is edited and what makers choose to show is Salman's fault. nor is he personally involved in any of those housemates. He reads off a ready made script. He doesn't sit and watch all episodes or live feed to have personal favorites or grudges. Uske paas itna time nahi hai boss. Usse makers scripts ke saath weekly gist dete hain. He comes and does his job. So why bash him?
Even Di's pregnancy rumors were planted by someone for TRP, maligning, ruinign someone's chances of winning, or whatever. As celebrities, in a show like big boss, they are almost signing up for such things. Di cleared the air and matter is over. she is not crying buckets over what people are making up about her.
Yes, Karishma was made fun of every episode and I understand her crying on pent up emotion. I did feel bad for her, because one could see she felt isolated and of course if the whole episode she was made fun of, any one would break down. She also finally got a reality check that she is not being seen positively outside. I think it was a culmination of everything. So my heart did go out to her. but bashing Salman is really silly, because he is not personally hating on her. He is given a script. BB makers know that making fun of Karishma garners laughter on WKW and she is an easy target thanks to her own dumb reactions, and they milk in on that. Salman ko kya lena dena Karishma, ya kisi aur se. None of them are his family or people he loves. That is exactly why he stopped Sangeet Bijlani from entering big boss because he knew how the show would not be in his control and she could land up putting her reputation and image in danger and he would be put in a spot to speak against her on WKW, if the script demanded it. So, he is not personal about anyone on the show, only doing his job. So why bash him? If Karishma is telling the host "its not funny' or making faces at him, will only garner that reaction from him. He is not their daddy to console them when they are upset. He is the host and he has to do his job.
