See the whole world is behind things which they feel will make them complete. If you look these days even goods are sold in the name of relations. I remember the ad song of Maruti " Hum Rishton mein jeete hain" that means we live in relations and to complete relations or to bring happiness to relations we need a car.
Even the holy institution of marriage is marketed now and they show as if you don't get married by this time then you can't get married. Sometimes I feel like laughing when guys marry at 24 or 25 and girls at 21or 22. Mind you these are not rural folks. these are well educated people. It was only some years back a guy in his early thirties was still a eligible bachelor and a woman somewhere till 25-26 was ok. I feel what has changed in these 10 years that these youngsters simply want to get married early. If you ask they say they wont get good girls or good boys.
Also since I am working in CSR group people want money, easy money if you ask them to come out of their comfort zone they wont agree. They are lot of perceptions regarding things and how much you try to change perceptions it is hard. There were times when after a counseling session I had come home depressed as no one want to take the chance to change themselves. They are so very much trapped in their mindset.
50 youngsters you spend time with and at the max you will be able to give wings to 3 or 4. It is sad but the truth.
Simple thing I will tell you. I had asked my cousin who is a college student to watch EHT. But she says in her hostel people don't prefer EHT as it is too heavy for them it seems. They prefer JA or even some regional serials over it. So when a group of youngsters in their late teenage is like this where will the change come from.

I call it conditioning by propaganda. Media glamorised powerful people too much. And these days everyone has too much access to media so they get carried away.
It is not about marriage or TV shows. It is people's fear or fascination for bigshots.
