Part 6:
As rey ran towards his favourite spot only the msg, kriya's message, was repeating in his mind. The message was nothing special.
Kriya's msg : "will you not COME to your favorite bench today? "
But the caps word "COME" got rey's all attention. It simply meant she is already there, waiting for him. The message is just to inform him indirectly.
In couple of minutes rey reached there running as fast as he can. Kriya was standing there looking at the beautiful garden in front of her, facing her back to the slope from where rey reached the spot. As soon as he reaches there, throws his backpack on the bench and try to catch his breath. He ran so fast that he stands panting, putting his hands on his hips.
Kriya turns to him at the sound. Kriya has changed her dress now. Since they didn't have any classes after lunch, she left for the hostel with neha and vish after the announcement. Rey looked at her from top to bottom. kriya looked like a innocent school going girl in that short dress. Rey thought "how can someone looks so pure and innocent in such a short and sexy dress?" If someone else was wearing that dress instead of kriya, people would've called that girl 'sexy' or 'hot' but kriya's eyes, they are 'something' because of them, people can never use any wrong words for kriya even if she wears sexy dresses."
Kriya clears her throat to bring rey back to present and succeeds. Rey realized that he was caught checking her out.
Rey : umm.. ahh..wo
Kriya : thanks
What?
"Thanks for the seminars idea. HOD told us it was you, who suggested the idea to princi. Thank you so much. Huh. You don't know reyansh how upset I was in the morning thinking about my poor internal marks. I got a second chance. I can't believe this is really happening. I thought this time I will never be able to make it upto my targeted marks. Wow. Thank you so so sooo much Rey. I am so happy."
Rey just let her express whatever she wants to. He was just smiling looking at her excitement and mainly her sparkling eyes, which were looking so pale and sad when they met in canteen during lunch time. He felt satisfied for bringing back the same charm and sparkle in those beautiful and expressive eyes. The way they were going wide whenever she expressed her happiness for getting second chance to secure a good internal marks and next moment sinking of those eyes when she said how sad she was about her marks. Rey observed everything without interrupting her. When she finished,
Rey : that's okay kriya. I didn't do it for you ...
Rey's sentence was cut by kriya
Kriya : I know. I know rey... you.. didn't do it for me. But unfortunately it will give me the great opportunity to achieve what I wanted to ..so...thanks. i owe you one
Rey : really?
'Yup'
'Hmm. I will remember that.'
Kriya just smiles at his teasing tone thinking "how wrong I was to hope that rey did this for me. Once again I succeeded in fooling myself. Huh. Wake up kriya. Face the reality. Why will rey would do something for you to help? He is not crazy about you like you are for him. Get a grip on your emotions kriya. Just move on. Yes move on. Yes"
Rey clicked his fingers in front of her face to break her thought process because he knew she is hurt to know that he didn't do it for her.
Rey: So?
Kriya : sooo.. nothing.. will give seminars on each subject. Just now collected list of topics on each subject the professors have given.
Rey : oh the professors have given the list of topics to choose from? Can I see them?
Kriya : sure. Here. She gave the list to rey.
Rey while going through the list 'so on which subject and topic you are planning to work on first?'
Kriya : oh I want to take up the easy subject first so that I can get the idea of this whole seminar thing you know. So I am planning to give presentation on marketing tomorrow. See on this topic, she points out the topic to rey.
Rey : hmm..cool. reading for the first time? This topic?
Kriya sadly reply "yeah"
Rey : hmm. Have book right now with you?
Kriya : yeah got couple from library just now. Here, she gives the books to rey, who took them and takes out one book from them and opens the kriya's selected topic.
Rey : let me brief you on this topic. Come sit.
Kriya : ahh. You will brief me on the topic?
Rey : yeah(looks at her innocently)
Kriya : why?
Rey : just like that. Why it's a big deal for you?
Kriya : no. I mean.. it's o.k. I will manage. Don't bother. She was hesitant to take his help.
Rey just smiles looking at her. He so wanted to tell her why he wants to help her and he recommended this seminar idea to principal only for her but he really didn't know why he was doing all those things for kriya. So he dropped the idea of explaining anything to her. Ignoring her hesitation
Rey : come sit
Kriya sits hesitantly. She was uncomfortable with rey briefing her on the topic. First time she is taking some boy's help and that too rey's. She sat very consciously for next few minutes looking at rey engrossed in the topic. But once he started explaining the topic, she forgot all her hesitation and concentrated on rey. Next one hour went like few mins. Rey even explained her what points she can add on presentation slides. The examples. Expected questions from students and professors at the end. Everything in detail rey explained to her. She felt so relieved and felt little confident for the next day presentation.
By the end of their discussion, kriya became so comfortable with rey that she started joking with him friendly. Both returned to canteen enjoying their chit chat. But as soon as they entered canteen, someone shouts,
Girl : hey look there guys, kriya coming with rey.
Everyone started gossiping on this new turn in kriya's life. Everyone thought actually the kriya and rey topic is closed now as kriya has decided to move on but the scene, rey kriya together entering canteen happily made many girls jealous and boys just said 'rey is lucky, very lucky to have kriya'.
Rey went to his friends and kriya to neha and vish.
Rey happily to his friends : what's up guys?
Bharat : kahan gaya tha be tu?
Vicky : yeah dude. You told us you are not in a mood to study so will come with us today but after that we found you running towards your regular spot. what's the matter?
rey : guys today I am really exhausted and not in a mood to study so will come with you.
Swayam : sure
Vicky : thank god rey. Everday when you leave us to go to your favorite bench to study alone, I feel very irritated. You can study at hostel also like us but no. You need silence, peace ...urghhh
Rey : common Vicky you know me since childhood, I always prefer too study alone otherwise I won't be able to concentrate on studies.
Vicky : yeah yeah. I mean I don't understand ki...
By that time rey receives a msg and after reading they found rey running towards his favorite spot smiling widely.
Bharat : isse kya hua be? Abhi tho bola aaj nahi jaunga aur ab aise bhaag raha hai
Sharon : rey is so unpredictable
Vicky : see how is he running as if somebody is waiting for him
As soon as Vicky said that sentence all turned to him shocking and after few seconds all shouts "kriya". And immediately they too started running towards the slope but till then rey has already reached his spot. Vicky sharon bharat swayam stood behind a tree and watched the whole scene till rey started explaining the subject to kriya. Then grinning at his friend returned to canteen for evening snacks.
