Hi! I am highly inactive on the forum so most of you wouldn't know me all that well. I'm Mitra and I wrote a couple of stories on IF earlier as well. Like many of you, I'm pissed with the current track on the show and wish for some crackling answers from Pragya now. Well, if not on TV, we could maybe try that out here in IF right Hope you like this!
She had always harboured a fascination for defiance and rebellion. Be it with Suresh's need to stand against every corrupt Tom, Dick and Harry or Bulbul's addiction to badass musicians - it was always tempting. The sheer passion and intensity of being a rebel thrilled her even if she wasn't one herself. Maybe that was the reason she was attracted to him. The one person who wasn't worthy of her passion. Her husband.
As she traipsed down the stairs with her luggage in tow, she cast a glance over the horde of black clad lawyers, hovering around the Mehra siblings. It was amusing how the moths, who were drawn to the brooding Rockstar, shifted attention to her as soon as she entered the scene. She felt like a flame, growing stronger with each step and each accusing stare from the people below. When she reached the foot of the stairs, she made sure that her mother and sister were safely away from the main arena of the coming battle. Her mother might have survived the decision and the accusations but the cold formality of the end was not something an emotional heart like her could handle. Abhishek, not Abhi, walked towards her with an air of superiority and swag that stemmed only from sickening arrogance. She waited till he offered the pristine white document, already signed by him. She waited till he finished his abominable rant of abuses fit to be spewed only by utter imbeciles. She waited till her waspish sisters-in-law hurled snide comments on her infidelity and conniving nature. Finally, she straightened her dupatta and began her battle.
"Before we finish this ridiculous sham of a marriage and I win back my freedom from this sty of grunting swines," Pragya began in a civil tne sweeping an arm across the hall to indicate the entire Mehra family "there are a few matters to be settled. None of them are monetary Mr.Abhishek, do not panic." she assured her life-partner and tormentor, who looked flabbergasted at the direction her speech was taking.
"First and foremost, I would like to announce that my sister and Purab, your ex-friend shall get married this week. I am declaring this before-hand so that Aliya and her dim-witted accomplice refrain from any future drama. The lawyers present here are my witnesses when I declare this entire family as highly potential threats to my family and demand protection from them. I have applied for a restraining order against Aliya and Tannu anyway so this warning applies to the others." Pragya ignored the squeal from Mitali and Taiyiji along with the rude exclamations from Aliya. She noticed that Bulbul and Purab looked like fish out of water and merely nodded at them before continuing.
"Next, regarding Suresh. If ever I find out that my friend's name has been dragged into any scandal or insulted in front of anybody outside this house, you will be facing a defamation suit. Don't look furious Abhishek, you know that Suresh is well-versed in law and that he will make it happen. One of the benefits of being well-educated and self-respecting you see? Don't even think about demanding the same from me regarding you because we both know that I don't have the time or patience to actually bother doing it. Anyways, the media will do a good job of dissing you for your alleged adultery with Tannu anyways. Forgot that didn't you?" Pragya's wry reminder of his relationship with Tannu made him want to bury a hole and disappear but he didn't have the time as she went on.
"Finally, with regards to Dadi. This one is merely a suggestion. Try not to fabricate any new lies regarding this entire mess in front of her. Contrary to your belief, your grandmother is pretty sane and strong. She isn't a spoon-fed monkey, like some people I know, who agrees or disagrees with everything a majority says. The more you try to degrade me or discuss this issue, the farther you will go from her. So try not to explain anything. She has my number and will know to contact me for anything she wants to know." With the last bit conveyed to her gaping husband, Pragya signed the document and handed it over to the lawyers who looked at her with awe. Turning on her heels, she walked away with her mother, sister and future brother-in-law in company, a shattering silence her only applause and recognition.
As he checked the document with as much sanity he could at the moment, the chief lawyer felt a sense of realization dawn on him on closer scrutiny of her signature. This was not just another Rockstar's wife he had just heard. This was a dignified and powerful woman with her own stellar identity. This was Dr.Pragya Arora. And he was glad his daughter studied under her.
I know that it was EXTREMELY vague and emotionless but that's how annoyed I am with the current track. Do leave comments if you read through this! 😃

Thank you so much! I am almost desperate for some smartness from Pragya. This cry-baby version makes me want to rattle her physically and make her see sense. šŸ˜†

This is definitely one of the best stories I have read so far!
I loved the main concept and Pragya's words! Oh how I wish! *begins to daydream only to crashland and realise how stupid the CV's really are*
I think I will have to kidnap them and replace them with you along with other talented writers on this forum... the list is very long so coming back to this story!

I loved each and every line delivered by Pragya in this story and I really do hope she says something like this sooner or later! I amm missing this pragya! Loved it! Fantastic!

Aww thank you so much! If ever Pragya says something similar, I am pretty sure we'll have a grand party to celebrate šŸ˜†. If not then I might demand a divorce from the CVs myself! šŸ˜›

Wish Pragya would do that.. I want her to stand up for herself and show her individuality and self respect. She is a professor for God sake the CV's are showing her character as a housewife who doesn't have her own say in anything.
Helloo!!!!! She rejected Abhi's proposal at first right so where the hell is that Pragya now????

Bhanu, you're absolutely right. Leave the fact that she's a professor, ANY woman should speak up. What dignity is there in silence when you can fight for yourself? She needs to realize that her love for her husband is not above her self respect. Unromantic maybe but its damn true.
