I know I have been pathetic and I am so sorry about that... things haven't been great, I've shifted to a new city and my laptop was out of order, none of my words would be enough so here's my update, and thanks for sticking around

Breath of Fresh Air

CHAPTER 9

Raman couldn't believe that it was that easy to woo his baby but it was, and somewhere deep down he knew that it wouldn't have been possible without Ishita. Here he was on the 21^st day of mission Ravan Kumar ko banao Prem Kumar taking Ruhi out for a movie and ofcourse Ruhi came with her boria-bistar and that was her Ishita Aunty. He didn't mind that, he got used to her in the past 21 days. She was like everywhere around him, she made him do crazy stuffs like play stupid toy games with Ruhi, help her with her homework, feed her and ofcourse who would forget the never ending torture of waking up an hour early because Miss Ishita Iyer loves to be the personal alarm clock to everyone.

Oh boy did he mention what happened when he came face-to-face with Mihika who unfortunately turned out to be Ishita's sister? Horror!!!! It was plain horrible when the baby sister wailed out loud "Akka he is the one... this man... he he... Threw me out of his office" plain evil witch, Raman could make out that thin lined smirk that appeared on her face as Ishita scolded him left and right. But the angel that Ishita was, she didn't stop helping him with Ruhi, she just didn't talk to him for 17 whole hours, fair punishment enough.

Now coming back to the movie god did he mention how boring the movie was? It was Ishita's choice of movie because she said she knew what Ruhi would enjoy. She said she would have loved to watch a John Abraham movie but but but it apparently wasn't something Ruhi was allowed to watch "he is well not a treat for kids you know" she said with a hint of blush when he asked her why. He made it a point to watch a few John Abraham movies to know the reason of her blush. Back to the movie it was a SRK movie and those cheesy love scenes were making him feel so stupid. He would have laughed out so badly had it not been for the other two gawking at the screen open mouths and dreamy eyes.

"I love you so much papa" Ruhi declared as they walked away from the hall. He halted in his steps

"phir se bolo" he said in trance

"I love you... I love you... I love you" Ruhi yelled and hugged his legs. He pulled her up and hugged her tight. This probably was the best day of his life (not so soon Mr. Bhalla *wink*)

He looked at Ishita with gratitude and she smiled back.

As they sped home in his car with Ruhi fast asleep in Ishita's arms, Raman finally thought of giving words to his gratitude

"ummm... Ishita mai who...mai" he fumbled

"mai mai kya kar rahe hai bakri ki tarha, kuch bolna tha aapko?" she enquired

"very funny... mai bas yeh soch raha that ki tumhe thankyou kaise bolu. Aadat nehi hai na" he blushed

"oh ho Mr Bhalla blush bhi karte hai" she grined "Anyways, mera mission Raman kumar ko banao Prem Kumar successful hua ki nehi yeh nehi pata but I guess Ruhi ko aap waise kharoos kumar hi pasand ho lekin plan to kaam kar gaya, ab aap thankyou bolna chahte hi hot oh party de do"

"Party? Sure" he said

"Arre mai toh Mazak kar rahi thi, mujhe parties pasand nehi"

"but I am serious, I want to give you a treat"

"No"

"yes"

"No"

"yes"

"ok fine, kab kaha"

"aaj, Ruhi ko ghar drop karne ke baad"

"but itni raat ko"

"kyu tumhe mujhse dar lagta hai? I really want to thank you, please" he pleaded

"theek hai" she smiled weakly. The idea didn't fit her but she will be with Raman so things will be fine.

They dropped Ruhi home, Ishita tucked her in the bed and informed her mother that she will be late home.

In the meantime Raman decided to google some decent pub in Delhi so that Ishita won't feel uncomfortable. She was anyways wearing a black saree that didn't go with wild clubs.

They entered the club, it was a nice cozy place. After some awkward conversation without Ruhi one of the guys in the crowd spotted Raman and came up to them. He turned out to be an old classmate of Raman's. A bunch of other guys came up along him. Raman Introduced Ishita to them as a friend and they all took her as his girl friend. They knew about Shagun and were glad that Raman moved on. One of the guys said that he wanted to order special drinks to celebrate the return of the great Raman Kumar Bhalla. Raman immediately said that they were here on a alcohol free party.

They still insisted on a mock drink. Raman and Ishita finally agreed.

Finished with their drinks when they looked up they saw those guys smiling in a weird way

"kya hua?" Raman asked

"Sorry bhai, bura na mano April fool hai. Today is the first of april remember? "

"ha toh?" Raman asked... Suddenly it dawned upon him "Oh god, saalo drinks spike ki tum logo ne"

Ishita gasped in horror

Raman gave them a ear ful and without wasting any time pulled Ishita out of the pub, he wanted to reach home before the drinks showed their effect.

"enjoy bhai-bhabi" they heard as they rushed out...

They were on their way home; Raman tried to concentrate on the road when he heard a faint weeping sound

"oh... f***" he cursed "kya hua Ishita"

"Amma marengi" she managed to whisper in between slow sobs

"kaise maregi? Tum bataogi thodi unhe"

She pretended to think for a while "nehi toh"

"bas toh kaise pata chalega?"

"phir ghar kaise jaun mai?"

"Mat jana, Ruhi ke room mei so jana"

"Phir Ruhi kaise soyegi akeli?"

"Ruhi ke uthne se pehle chali jana?"

"ok... thankyou" she smiled

They took unsteady steps towards the Bhalla House. Raman opened it for Ishita who looked ready to vomit anytime now. He himself felt the effect climbing steadily on him so he rushed to his room and fell on the bed.

"Tum? Phirse aa gayi mere sapno me dimag khane. Aise kaise chalega Raman, who friend hai teri, aise gande sapne nehi dekhte apne friend ko leke" he felt disgusted at himself

"ummm... Aap khudse baat kyu karte hai"

"Ishita?"

"Ha"

"yaha kyu aayi ho, yeh ruhi ka room nehi hai" he tried to shoo her off before he lost his senses completely to his lust

"Pata hai woh Ruhi ke washroom ka door nehi khul raha hai, can I use yours?"

"Sure" he said with an uneasy smile

She rushed to his washroom. He was standing by his window when she came out. He turned at the noise of the door opening

"white pehna tha tumne" he said

"kya?" she asked

"kuch nehi" he shook his head to get rid of the dizziness

"good night" she whispered with a smile

"mat jao..."

She went to stand by him. They stood there for long, staring out of the window, not gazing at anything in particular. Standing there simply made them feel less lonely.

Oh my god!! This was totally worth the wait!!! Such a wonderful twist! This line was really the icing on the cake ---- 'something like love'...
