Episode 8
He placed the pen-drive in her hand, "Don't think too much. Within 24 hours we will find your real identity. Let's go."

RTO office entrance..."I'll do the talking."She nodded her head with a puppy face.Asad thought for a moment and then, "No you wait here. I'll go in and come."She nodded her head again with the same puppy face. He looked amused and annoyed at the same time. He went in with her waiting in the entrance. A man crossed her looking at her suspiciously. He then took his phone and texted someone."Why do you want this number?", the clerk stood up alarmed.Asad looked at him knowing very well that he had to be careful and that the girl's past could be more dangerous than he imagined. "The car dashed my bike and speed away without stopping, I have to recover the charges", he replied carefully.The clerk seemed to cool down a bit, "This car was stolen yesterday." What? Stolen? He continued, "The car's real owner is IF Group of Companies MD. Where did you see the car?"Asad, "..hm..alley..it sped without stopping I couldn't see who was driving..."The clerk wasn't listening, he called someone and was informing the same."Sir, please wait here. We need information from you.""But..." and he looked around to see that the people were looking at him. He looked out and noticed two sturdy looking guys talking in hushed tone and they were looking at the girl.They took quick steps to reach her. He took quicker steps. They neared her. He neared her too.She was looking at passer-bys innocently.Before they could get to her, Asad walked to her and held her hand tight and took quick, determined steps pulling her away with him. With passer-bys blocking the way, the men missed them by inches.

Near a tea shop..."Why did you pull me like that? Ouch. It still hurts."Asad looked around, hands on hips. Evidently there was danger from all sides. Should he call Ayaan? While casually looking around, he saw a poster. He went near it. Zoya just stood there examining her hand. When he saw that she wasn't following him, he turned back and called out to her, "Come here."Browing her forehead and screwing her lips cutely, at his stern look, she followed him. He turned and looked at the poster closer."Do you know these people? Whose marriage is it?", she asked curiously."No. I don't know them But I think you know them.""What are you saying?""Look at the poster carefully", he said without turning to look at her."...Imraan, son of the home minister weds Humeira, daughter of Gaffur, CEO of IF Group of Companies...", she casually read. It was just a marriage poster. Zoya looked at Asad who looked deep in thought. Tension was written all over his face.

"Exchange your rings", the priest told them.Both Imraan and Humeira unwillingly exchanged their rings with the elders and friends around applauding, "The marriage is scheduled to happen tomorrow morning between 7-8 am...", the priest continued.Humeira looked up at Imraan who was least interested in the happenings and was talking with friends. He hadn't even wished her in the morning or spoke with her in ages. She had to marry him? She closed her eyes and remembered her best friend's words again. She had promised to come the last night. Where was she? Was she safe? She had told her not to worry. She had told not be sad as always. She hadn't seen her in the morning. Her mobile was switched off too. Should she...should she call him? But...that will lead him to danger.

Humeira, his sister's friend. He wanted to call her his wife, rather. He had proposed. She had rejected. That was old story, pretty old. But today, she was in danger. His love hadn't diminished over the time. He wanted her to be happy, that's all. But now, if he was away it would mean she will die. She will die a political death. She will die in the name of suicide and the case will be closed. Where is my sister? She and Humeira were supposed to meet him last night and they were to leave the country for good. But it was morning 10. They hardly had 24 hours left.The man in the subway was thinking on what to do next.

The RTO guy had told him that the car was stolen. Did it mean that she might have stolen it? It didn't make sense. He had to call Ayaan. He went to the PCO box, put a coin in it and dialed in Ayaan's number, "Hello Ayaan!"

"Asad! Where are you? That car. Remember the one that was parked near your house? Your next assignment is to find out that car. That car was actually a stolen one and it's our bad luck because when we saw it, that time it had to be with the thief. There is a state wide search for that car and the thief.""But why? Why is it such a big issue?""That's the home minister's car. Obviously there will be a hype.""Home minister?", trying to figure out what was happening. The RTO had told something else. Police reporting was something else. Maybe he will find some answers if he goes to the wedding. But should he go with the girl?"Where are you now? Buy a mobile soon.""Ya. I will. Let's meet at my lake house.""Lake house? Why lake-house? It's been ages since we went there.""Come there. I'll meet you there in half an hour.""Wait. I can't come. I'm in-charge of security for the minister's son's marriage tomorrow. I have to be there. Why don't you also come here?""I don't think, I can come right away but sure, I'll come in a while.""It looks like you are still in mood out. Has it something to do with Tanveer?""What? No", for the first time in 12 hours thinking about her and realizing he hadn't missed her."I'll call you soon. Bye."Asad cut the call and turned to look for Zoya. To his shock, she wasn't there. Panic struck him, "Zoya!"He turned to the shopkeeper, "Did you see the girl here? Where did she go?""That side", pointing ahead.He mumbled a thanks and ran towards that side. He looked around everywhere calling out, "Zoya!"He came to a complete halt. With astonishment, he saw Zoya buying ice cream for some poor kids there. She was laughing and talking with animatedly.

He slowly went near Zoya admiring her. Zoya turned to look at him, "Hi. Phone call done? What's the plan next?""Tell me. What's the plan next?", she insisted again."First you tell me. Where did you get money to buy ice cream?""Your purse!" and she stylishly took it and handed over his purse to him."Hey! When did you take it?"She just laughed and made way to the car."Wait", remembering the stolen car story.

He held her hand. She stopped. She slowly turned to look at him. He looked into her eyes and said, "Never leave me. Do you understand?" She blinked her eyes at his authoritativeness. She liked it. For half a second, he was lost in her eyes. Then, "There is more danger than you think. Be careful and never leave me until the problem is over." and then he made way to the car. "Never leave me until the problem is over.", she imitated him after he left, "Can't he say, 'never leave me at all in this life'?", being cutely annoyed.

They stopped at a cell phone shop and Asad bought a smartphone and put in his sim; that Ayaan had given him the night of the accident. As they walked out of the shop, he saw a man looking keenly at the car. He sensed it wasn't safe to be in this car any more and to wander in the city and most important; with the girl. He got into the car and they drove off; but not before the man took a picture of both of them and sent a MMS to someone.

"Wow! What place is this?""This is our play slash fun slash lake house. We used to come here when we were young.""This place is so beautiful", looking around in awe and following him through the stairs to the lake-house, "This place is so huge. This place is so nice. This place is right in the middle of the lake. So mysterious. So adventurous. I love it." He smiled. She looked at him, "Hey! This place is dusty too.""Ya. It's been ages since we came here.""We?""Ya. Me and my friends. Every weekend we used to come here and play and enjoy. But now we are grown up. Work. Tensions. and the concept of chilling out has changed. Now every Saturday we go to bars and stuff.""Bar?", she exclaimed.He stopped dusting of the cushion and realized maybe he shouldn't have told it, "Well..not all Saturdays..whenever we feel like.""So, you drink?", looking out of one window to see the greenery and a waterfall flowing in a distance.He cleared his throat, "..hm..yes..I do, occasionally.""hm..so what's for lunch?""Lunch...hm...I guess I should go buy something.""No, wait", as she took two large fishing rods from behind a cupboard full of books, "Will you teach me how to fish?""Sure", and they chatted, smiling, laughing, spending some good time together, gradually growing with friendship; fishing the noon away.

"It's been one hour and we haven't caught even one fish", Zoya exclaimed, disappointed."I told you. You don't get fishes in monsoons.""It's getting more cloudy and colder. Let's go in."Asad got up with a 'I told you so' expression. The wind was blowing hard on them as they carried the fishing stuff back."What are we going to eat?", Zoya asked."I could have gone and bought food and we would have eaten by now and we could have had our afternoon nap.", Asad replied irritablyZoya sulked, "Fine. Go now."The sky became darker, though it was just 2. It steadily built up to a thunderous growling. The storm broke. The rain fell like an ocean thrown from the sky. It was sudden.Both of them hurried towards the house and got in, but they were wet from head to toe. Asad turned to her, "Stay hungry. I'm so not going in this storm to buy food and that too with everyone searching for you and your stolen car."Zoya retorted back,"I told you not to keep repeating 'stolen'."
