Dastaan happened to be the most highly acclaimed and one of the biggest hits of its time. His character of Hassan was nothing as complicated as Sarmad, neither he had to play a modern lover boy, instead his act of Hassan reminded his viewers off the classic and undying love between two soul mates, the honesty, dedication, sacrifice, the patience a person can endure and live throughout a lifetime. This was his breakthrough performance in every sense, he made a bang on comeback and after this there was no looking back. Hassan was a deeply intense and and extremely desirable man. His dedication to study and earn good respect for his widowed mother, his blind patriotism and desire to make his country independent, his selfless and never dying love for his lady love, his mature and strong urge to bring his friend on the right track of life, his helpless and hopeless request to his devotee, everything, each and every trait of Hassan has etched this character in the hearts of his viewers. I will not be wrong if i say that, this was the starting when Fawad Khan had made one of the most loved pairings of Pakistan along with the terrific Sanam Baloch, His and Baloch's chemistry is still talked about and arguably one of the best of their careers and this generation. If life would be a fairy tale, then every girl would pray for a Hassan in their lives not like they don't pray for him now, but still I doubt about the impact of this character amongst the audiences had it been played by anyone else other than Mr.Khan.
The versatile Khan & the progress of the hysteria called Fawad Afzal Khan:-
Jamal ( Behadd ) :-
Jamal has to be the only character which Fawad has done with the least amount of homework. His body language in every frame had been so real and believable, its hard to depict and make out the difference that where this man has worked out for this role. This character actually is a vague sketch of how utterly classy and debonair Fawad actually is, be it his styling in the show or his diction, does nothing but leaves us giggling and blushing all over him from the other side of the tv screen.it is that onscreen character closest to his off-screen persona though arguments can say otherwise. Jamal is probably the one character of his that is so not omnipresent , and leaves an important message for the viewers out there. Him being trying to protect his lady love and her 15 year old daughter and instead unintentionally becoming a havoc in between the mother and the daughter relationship, creates vast questions and obligations about social norms, the balance between love and possession. His character not only shows a ray of hope for second chances in life, also that love is endless but it shouldn't be harmful for one's future .The ending obviously had left many questions for viewers along with tears, but still the message given out through this character is applause worthy. Fawad Khan deserves every kind of appreciation and applause for this effortless performance as Jamal.
Asghar ( Akbari Asghari ):-
The suave FAWAD KHAN has metamorphosis for this act. The man himself rates his this performance above his iconic roles. Its special in many ways. Not because it was the return of the popular pairing of him and Sanam Baloch, but also because it was probably his very first out and out distinguished and extremely non urbanized and opposite of what he had played till now. I wonder, if Asghar was supposed to be so ugly and an eyesore then what made the makers to cast Fawad Khan for this role. I mean, looking at that kind of a face, who could have imagined that he will be able to do it ? but when the show is watched now, i realise that the fact that Fawad Khan was cast here was enough, he just can make any role become posisble onscreen. What a convincable act, and its still a hilarious topic when i discuss with my friends about how did they make Fawad look like that ? must have been such a tough job. Asghar was a sore liar, manipulative, kind of casanova, and ultra dumb , and then the character takes you for a roller coaster and indeed a hilarious journey. Starting with fooling his own brother and marrying his fiancee and later being blind in her love and being fooled by the same girl, everything just still makes audience rethink that how did Fawad do it ? the character is so distinctly different from his image, by the time this show had happened, the audience were in big shock that how come their Hassan had become into Asghar ..
Mujtaba( Kuch pyar ka pagalpan ):-
One of his best and most underrated performances. This time once again he attempted to do something out of his usual set image. This time no designer outfits, no character sketch of being praise worthy, a very much boy next door and earthy character it was. The character had tremendous growth and despite the show lacking a good writing and script, Fawad had carried both the role and the show so brilliantly. His boyish charm and the inevitable innocence defining the very naive and oversmart Mujju thrown up in a big fat strange land, and then him discovering his drawbacks, his belongings, his lady love, everything was a delight for his viewers.Mujju was incredibly desi, innocent , self oriented, typical a boy next door, who gets slammed by the lady he fascinates to marry throughout his life and still never regrets, who dreams of a hifi office cabin and gets the work of an ordinary employeee, who is fooled by
his best friend Kiran to get engaged to her and later unintentionally wrongs her and gets trapped in his childhood fascination for Daneez and desire to be rich and a citizen in United states. Mujju provied the journey of a very common and ordinary man, and how his innocence ends up at being his greatest and most precious asset. Fawad though earned a nationwide praise for this role, but whoever have watched this show, tends to admit that, some roles are made for artistic and self satisfaction, the role is joyful and very dear for his fans.
Rohail ( Ashk ):-
When there is a story that revolves around love, hate, betrayal, regression and repentance, who better than Fawad Khan can be suitable ? This character of his is definitely not as challenging as Mujju or Asghar, but it still satisfies the desires of his fans whio craved to watch him do something which is his main genre, him doing a love story means its eid for his fans, and yeah Rohail was such a treat, unless you are an extreme critics of bad screenpaly and direction. Rohail being a mumma's boy, blind for his mother and an ideal man in every sense suffers from heartbreak and loses the track of his life where he struggles between betrayal and giving forgiveness, struggles between the duty of a doting son and promise of a lover, struggles between the woman he loved and the woman who nurtured his love, pain and supported him at his difficult times. The show portrays some incredible performed scenes by him and ladies who love watching a tormented Fawad onscreen, please watch Ashk..
Wali Bakht( Numm ) :-
One of the most difficult and superbly performed characters of Fawad. Numm arguably was not every body's cup of tea, the content and the subject was bold and dealth with the feudal system and the misdoings of the justice system back in the old era. Fawad for the first time was playing a role of a young man who was well established when it comes to education, but tied up by the feudal system and is living the life like whta we call sometimes is known as silent slavery, struggling to find justice and erase the regressive trends and burying the unexplainable relationship and its existence with his first legal wife.Wali was a man of very very few words, he had no choice but to lead a life of a dual marriage, sacrificing his own desires and self respect, just to keep the tradition and reputation of his grandfather intact. The progress of the character has been excellent, Wali from being a helpless man who had accepted his life to be confined in a cage, then discovering that he probably loved his first wife Mahjabeen who had the similar age as his mother and was forced to marry him by the feudal system has been an out and out pityful and affection inducing character. Be it his tragic death in order to save Mahjabeen's son's life, or be it his struggle to try and love his second wife neelam and give her justice, everything just leaves the viewers with an incomplete and saddistic feeling. Ofcourse Fawad's perfect act as Wali and to die for good looks had been a plus point, he just looked so different and princely from every manner.
Armaan ( Armaan ) :-
This has to be the most easy on eyes and lighted hearted characters of his. He did this role at the peak of his TV career, and just reinforced the thought that yes he indeed is probably the only one who can be or is compared with the legendary pakistani actor Waheed Murad. As the film was a remake of Murad's film of the same name, Fawad ensured that he justifies his act as the leading man and does not leave his viewers disappointed. Armaan was ever so charming, rich, pampered and deeply loved grandkid of his grandfather, oozes those kind of traits which are enough for young girls hyperventilate at his one shot, be it his stares at his lady love, or be it his adorable pranks to woo her, or be it his understanding her incomplete and dented life like that of a fairy talish cinderella and then taking her away from the land of the cruel step mother, everything reminds one of a fair disney film. Girls who are die hard fans of Fawad and want to watch him doing everything a loverboy does, grab Armaan for you and live the fangirling moments.
The iconic and evergreen characters:-
Asher Hussain( Humsafar ) :-

ASHER HUSSAIN is the character which earned him extreme accolades from all over the world, awards were just bonus. it is said to be the iconic role of his career which helped him to go up few notch leaving behind his contemporaries in the industry. The character became insanely popular especially amongst the ladies and had created an mass upsurge those days. Ladies never attending weddings or kitty parties on saturday evening while Men came back from office as early as possible. Girlfriends broke up with Boyfriends because they lacked " The Asher qualities ", mothers wanted their sons to be like him, ladies wanted their husbands and kid's father like Asher. Asher is more than a fictional character for many, his extremely WHITE nature, his idealistic traits, his undefinable innocence and selfless love and affection for his loved ones, the soft spoken and sophisticated nature won the hearts and broke the hearts like no other character. Be it his selfless and sacrificial love for his parents, the dutiful and grateful son, or be it his blind and selflessly giving friend, made his viewers shed millions of tears at his plight. Him being probably the best fictional father ever, and arguably a kind of man whom every girl wanted as a husband did nothing but made this character iconic. A great share of the success of this character has to be dedicated to Fawad Khan, the flawless, i repeat, the flawless performance not only justifies what we call " weak character " but also ensures that the victimised state of Asher is well pitied and mourned over. So take a bow Fawad Afzal kahn for portraying a flawed character that flawlessly and showing what sheer brilliance looks like onscreen.
Zaroon Junaid
(Zindagi Gulzar Hai ) :-

Following the crazy success of Asher in Humsafar, Fawad Khan was yet to woo the whole nation with yet another memorable and iconic performance as the leading man of Zaroon in Zindagi Gulzar hain. The effect and the success of this character and show again created history, and is touted to be one of the iconic characters and dramas of pakistan. This show again shows Fawad playing the other end of what we call a predominant love story between two extremely oppsite people who disliked and loathed each other and eventually discovers love and fulfills their journey together. The show not only reinforced Fawad Khan's superstardom as the top most leading man in the industry but also took him far above his contemporaries in terms of both popularity and demand. Zaroon Junaid, the egoistic, chauvinistic, strong headed, charming and talented, extremely ambitious and phobic to comittment was what needed to melt down and win over the heart of the most feministic, pessimistic, again strong headed girl, who is equally egoistic, and phobic to marriage and in trusting men. The journey that starts with Zaroons diary entry and his passion for music, his reservations against the ignorant and carefree attitude of his mother, sister and his fiancee, his processing out his father's weakness being a not so dominant man, his verbal wars with Kashaf, his dirty ploy to set her staright to the very man who falls madly in love with her, briings her out of her complexes and inhibitions, shows a positive direction to his sister and to a very loving and understanding husband. Fawad Khan again shines in a fiction where he played not the central role as it was not his character's journey from shikwe se shukar tak. still he made the character quintessential dream man of females. It wont be a wrong statement if Ii is said Fawad made every girl dream for a husban dlike zaroon, his inevitable and extraordinary good looks, his charm and screen presence, Zaroon's dialogues, his banters with his wife, his passion for his ambitions, each and everything contributed to the iconic stature of this character. this character also remain special more now as he wins over the hearts of a large population of neighbouring nation India with a phenomenon created called FAWAD FEVER.
Lastly, with the above shows Fawad Khan has also made unforgettable pairings with both Mahira Khan in Humsafar and Sanam Saeed in Zindagi gulzar hain. Fans are still waiting for the return of these pairings.

Vikram Singh Rathore ( Khoobsurat ):-
2014 marked the beginning of Fawad khan's journey in the world's largest film making industry- Bollywood. This was his first bollywood venture, more or less commerically and critically well recieved and making him an instant hearthrob amongst the south Asian continent. This also marked his comeback after a long break, and well he just ruled over it, the appreciation and mass gushing never seems to end.
