Ma Bai is sister of Man Singh and daughter of Bhagwan das
She was first wife of Salim they both married at 16 years and had a son Khusrau and a daughter
Khusrau wanted to be emperor after Akbar(Akbar initially supported him) and rebelled against father Salim and Man Bai caught between father and son tried to broker peace
But the tension was too much for her may be. I mean this kind of things common in family where son after becoming big challenge and rebel against father even in 21st century. So not sure why the hell she commit suicide? May be she was very soft by nature cannot bear this tension. So she commit suicide in 1604 or 1605.
Its also said that Bhagwan Das family had a mental depression strain going on not sure if its true. So that also could have made her susceptible to suicide. Wish Man bai had written her auto bio to know what she thought.

When Khurram was 6 day old Akbar ordered him to be given to Ruqaiah for ubringing. He was only child of Jodha Bai. Yes he was brought up by Ruqaiah and till her death he consider her as mother only. Poor Jodh Bai husband went off to Nur Jahan and son to Ruqaiah and she lonely. In that case Salim mother Hira Bai lucky she had Salim and grand children company till death.
