Loads of style yet no attitude! That's Yudhishtir Urs, better known as Yudi, the popular Channel [V] VJ for you! Simple and quiet, Yudi likes his space and has a streak of the wild in him. "I love adventure," says the 28-year-old with a smile.
A Bangalorean Kannadiga, Yudi joined Channel [V] three-and-half years ago and has had an "interesting stint" so far. "The job is hectic and each day brings in a new challenge," he avers.
For a guy who was fairly serious about studies and is a B Com graduate, the road to the world of VJ-ing has been fairly smooth. Says Yudi, "I was always interested in dramatics and was often seen on stage in college " in plays, compering shows etc." And then with a grin adds, "I even tried my hand at modelling but it didn't quite work out!"
One day, as he was doing his master-of-ceremonies act at a party that someone suggested he audition for the Channel [V] VJ Hunt, on at the time. Needless to say, he was selected and today, is counted amongst the most happening VJs around!
While Yudi is enjoying this vocation, he will "definitely be looking at something else. For, change has to happen," he says. Bollywood should be his next address, and he is "waiting for the right role to come by."
Meanwhile, free time sees him indulging in his "hobbies which include watching good movies and listening to music." And his passions? Travelling (the last place on his itinerary was Bali "to generally chilled out!") and sports, especially football, mountain climbing, rappling, fast cars, fast bikes..." And when one loves sports such as these "it's essential to overcome fear," says Yudi, adding, "Like I overcame my fears, when I plunged into the sea in Goa and went bungee jumping from a height of 120 feet."
Finally, ask him to describe himself and he says, "Simple and straightforward. But sometimes erratic." And the one constant factor in his life these days is his girlfriend whom he is "very serious about."
