Happy New Year has emerged the second biggest hit of the year after Kick. The film has managed to sustain in weeks two and three adter it had dropped in the weekdays in most circuits outside Mumbai. Kick remains the only blockbuster of the year with only PK left to challenge it now.

The business of in terms of nett and share will beat last years Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Krrish 3 but not Dhoom 3 and Chennai Express. Its been disappointing in terms of big hits as last year there were more bigger hits.

The first ten months have accumulated 2250 crore nett and the figure for last year was 2800 crore nett. Its looking a stiff ask to beat last years number unless somehow PK gets 3.5 crore people to the theatres which has not happened in the last 12 years.
