Attitude: The first and most important change has been in tulsi's attitude. Smriti was strict and aggressive. She would not miss an opportunity to slap anyone who was in the wrong. Gautami, on the other hand, has not raised her hand on anyone yet. Smriti character was defined because of her ability to fight back which Gatuami lacks at least as of now.

Chemistry between mihir and Tulsi : It was not great when Smriti was part of the show but things have certainly changed with Gautami's entry. Now there is more warmth between the couples. There are more handholding and hugging scenes, which were absent earlier. Their togetherness and closeness make them a great on-screen couple.

No Vamp No Competition: Gautami is yet to face any big opposition from a vamp. In contrast, Smriti had to face many challenges as she had to handle three vamps – Payal, Mandira and Meera. Further, she also had the task of bringing her two sons Gautam and Ansh on the right path. Gautami, meanwhile, is facing opposition only from her three bahus and she is not handling them alone.

Interaction with Baa: Smriti communicated a lot with Baa. She was the only support system of Tulsi in the Virani family until her death. Though Gautami also has the same amount of respect for Baa, her interaction is noticeably lesser. Also, Gautami's interacts more with her grandsons compared to her sons.

Looks: Lastly, on the show Gautami wears silk sarees with bright colours and jewellery as well. Further, she also wears short hand blouses. Smriti was never seen wearing such kind of clothes and jewellery.

Doyal Som, creative head of the show says: "The changes are because the storyline is different now. Tulsi has entered into the Virani family after six months. Therefore, her first goal is to prove herself. Thankfully, the chemistry between Gautami and Ronit is really nice and so we have made a conscious effort to shoot more scenes with them. Ektaa also loves the chemistry between them."
