Madhubala is all the more reflective of the Disney fairytale of Mulan, a woman who is out to prove her worth to her family and a brave yet adamant and egotistical solider.
The two initially do not get along but soon enough fall in love with each other. Their problems continue after marriage as Mulan becomes more loved as a military official while Shen, the General is sidelined.
