Thing I liked yesterday was the emotional aspect of hijack. I mean the CVs have shown a family, newly wedded couple and Shanky being dropped by his mother.
All these people are near and dear to someone. I don't know whether the newly married couple was like the couple in the Khandar Hijack that happened in 2002. Unfortunately if I am right the guy was killed by the hijackers.
So one hand leave Sooraj there are a set of passengers who are also family members to someone held at ransom. Terrorists can kill them if their demands are not met.
Their demand is to release the dreaded terrorist RK. What is the impact of leaving a criminal like RK.
Result will be more bombings, more deaths and you never know when he will be caught again.
So if you are an IPS officer what will you do. Whether you decide to sacrifice the passengers in the flight for the larger good of the country( I am not telling attempt will not be made to save the passengers, but what if it fails)
Or you release the dreaded terrorist so that the passengers can be safe.
What will be your choice. If you take first choice you will be called heartless as everyone will be looking only at the immediate gain and not the future impact.
if you take the second option in this case Sandhya's husband is there it will be called favoritism as to save your husband you are letting go of the security of the country.
I know CVs will give out a more or less fancy ending to this drama but in real life what would be the condition.
Will you look at present or at future.
What is the ethics involved in this. Which choice is ethical or which choice will suit your conscience.
For me to be frank I will go for the second option. Because that will appeal to my conscience. I will never be able to sleep I was responsible for a flight load of passengers dying. I may not be correct but that will be my choice. What about you.
Just put yourself in Sandhya's shoes and try to answer this.

lol shruthi iam in a fix
i dont think i can do justice to your question
cause one has to be a real police officer to know the emotions sandy will go through at this situation
she has taken oath to save her country

just for the sake of answering , i cant chose either of them
i dont want to escape either

iam an emotional person
may be i will panic,😆

In reality I'll go for second choice, because this is real right now, hundreds of human life are in danger.

First choice only for what and if things can happen in future, long shot!

My answer is the same as above Shruthi. I cannot think anything more than that, duty, country, etc.

Nice post.. Agree with NeelM...I will also go for second option... At present lives of those who boarded flight are in danger... Need to save them first..Even if we release RK, we may have chances of finding him again in future.. Present is important..

Thanks everyone for replying. Yes this is the reality of IPS or for that matter any job that involves national security.
Choices are difficult but it is those choices that finally define you

sandy chose to save the ambulance in traffic rather than going for SBC
though it was risky ,and it involved the final matka
she won for chosing to go by heart
can expect something similar this time too
she may announce RK release but suraj will save her day by doing some miracle

Very nice thread Shruthi...Yes during Kandhar hijack of IC 814 also it was a newly married couple and the guy Rupen katyal was killed by the terrorists ...the then home minister L.K.Advaniji also had agreed to release 3 dreaded terrorists just to save innocent passengers . That incident is still fresh in my memory as it was the one which shook up the whole nation that time .
As far as I have understood is that even if anyone is a police officer his /her priority is to save lives first and that's what Sandy should do.I can't say about how CV's are going to tackle it 😆
Hope you got my answer.😊
