It all started when Avdhoot was looking for a guy Astha could settle down with. She had completed all her studies and he decided it was time for her to get married. He felt it was time for Astha to find someone that could shower her with immense love, maybe the such that was missing during her upbringing.

Astha willingly did whatever her Baba had wanted, as long as he was happy she was happy. So it was done, she was engaged to be married.

The relationship started off with a great start, which hadn't last long. Yasir had never had time for her; he was too busy with work and his social life. That he could hardly give up time for her. Coming home late at night, coming home drunk and never spending time with her.

The things that husband and wife would do and cherish those only moments they had together! Astha never got to experience these things

She felt a sense of loneliness.

All was well until Astha joined the office with Shlok. He had always been nothing more or less than a colleague until that day when they were in USA and they were both sat outside watching the stars. She started to have a soft corner for Shlok.

Deep down in her heart she compared Shlok, a stranger, and the man she was supposedly married to. How the two could be totally different, yet one gave her littlest reasons to smile and how one didn't care about the littlest things in life.

Astha's idea of getting married didn't meet her expectations; getting married isn't the lack of love rather the lack of friendship between the two. Yasir had never tried to understand Astha, rather he never wanted to.

Shlok's innocence and his past really pulled Astha towards him, but she always maintained a distance. As much as it was hard she never wanted to give him false hopes, which is why she hid her engagement from Shlok. We had so much in common; we needed each other to fill our sorrows with happiness.'

That day when Shlok had seen me and Yasir together, my heart broke seeing the pain in Shlok's eyes of someone else claiming me as theirs. Shlok's pain was my pain, they say when you fall in love you share everything from love to sorrow, it was just that.'

I wanted to go after him, but I couldn't I was already tied back in a marriage with someone else; however my heart belonged to somebody else.'

One day Yasir had turned up at the success party of our business, I was scared Shlok may see him and start asking questions. That day when he was asking for a dance I had no clue Shlok was witnessing the whole thing. I was somewhat relieved when he took me away; I wanted to be near Shlok in his arms away from Yasir, away from all problems in life. Just bury myself and those thoughts in his arms.'

I was over the moon when Shlok confessed his love for me but then Yasir's words rang in my head "I will come to pick you up tomorrow, we're going out to eat! I want to make up for the times I wasn't here." I couldn't accept Shlok's love when I belonged to somebody else!'

Had I known Yasir was actually planning to move out of town I would have never agreed, but Yasir had kept it all as a surprise. For me it was a heart-breaking surprise. I had to leave Shlok and my past life behind it was more difficult than I had expected. It was as if destiny had other plans.'

"I wish I could go back to Shlok, and mend everything in his life. All I have is this photo."

It was a picture of Shlok that Astha would sometimes stare at in her spare time. Every night before going to sleep she would wish it goodnight. Loneliness really had her miss people in her life especially Shlok.

Yasir had bought a new house for Astha and her Baba and he had gone off to work abroad. He had promised to be back as quick as he could; it had been 2 years since he had promised that. Astha lived off Shlok's memories with her Baba oblivious to it all.

One day after the eventful day at work, Astha came home, ate, and went to her room. She took out Shlok's picture and started to talk to him about her day. Smiling and laughing at the picture every now and then, knowing she wouldn't get a response from a still picture.

After some talking she snoozed off unknowingly.

Avdhoot came to check on a sleeping Astha, when he noticed something in her hand. He slowly moved Astha's hand in her sleep and picked up the frame. At first he was taken aback at what he was witnessing. Several questions had arisen, why Astha had a frame of Shlok, and on top of that why was she embracing it and sleeping?!

He then placed the frame down and made his way out of the room.

Astha awoke when she heard silent muffles from the living room. She went down to find Avdhoot shouting down the phone. It seemed like something bad had happened.

Avdhoot put the phone down, with a shocked look on his face.

"Baba? Who was that? Why are you upset?" Astha asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Woh...!"

"Woh, kya Baba!"

"S...Shlok!"

Astha ran forward.

"SHLOK?" What about Shlok Baba? Kya hua Shlok ko? Kuch batao na!?" Astha started to get tensed.

"Woh... he got into an accident as he was drinking and his condition is very critical!"

"KYA! Baba! Shlok... I need to go to him right away Baba. Is he okay?" Astha almost shouted through her tears.

"Astha we will go right away!"

Astha and Avdhoot left for Pune that night.

They travelled overnight and finally reached their in the morning.

However to their dismay they were hit with traffic, Astha was already really impatient to see Shlok, thus she got frustrated upon seeing the growing traffic. They sat in the traffic for 2 hours when Astha couldn't sit idle knowing her Shlok's life was in danger.

She opened the door of the car and stepped outside. As she slammed the door shut she heard her Baba shout for her.

She didn't pay any heed and ran, ran as much as her legs could. She finally arrived at the Agnihotri Mansion and pushed the doors open and ran inside.

"SHLOK! SHLOK!" Astha shouted as she ran inside the house.

Shlok who heard this came downstairs. He was shocked at the sight in front of him. Astha!' He whispered silently as he proceeded down the stairs.

It had been 2 long years since Astha had suddenly disappeared leaving him in hope for her to return one day. The day had finally arrived.

Before he knew it Astha had ran over and took him into a hug. She started to ask questions about his health and how he was feeling. He paid no attention to that, all his attention was on the petite figure clinging onto him for dear life.

From the few questions that were thrown after him he managed to catch something about him and an accident.

Shlok pulled Astha away, and looked at her in confusion.

"What accident Astha? I'm perfectly fine, look!" Shlok said as he looked down at his body.

"But Baba said you were drunk and driving and you got into an accident and now your condition is very critical, are you sure you are ok?! Astha asked whilst inspecting Shlok's body for any injuries.

"Astha, I'm absolutely fine. I don't know why Uncle would say that, we've not spoken since, well since you guys suddenly left." Shlok looked away in despair.

Astha was still in a state of shock, all she could think about was Shlok. She then threw herself into Shlok's arm but this time it was different.

"Shlok, I'm so sorry I left. Shlok I shouldn't have left you. Look today destiny has bought us face to face. Shlok I love you, I love you a lot!" Shlok was completely taken aback by Astha's confession, he was overjoyed. He completed the hug; they stood in each other's arm for a long time, until phone rings broke their hug.

Astha broke out of the hug and attended to the call, a few seconds later the person on the other side said something that took Astha's breath away.

"WHAT!" Astha shouted down the phone. "How did this happen?!" Astha dropped the phone in shock.
