Who doesn't want to work in Shekhawat Enterprise?
Seriously, who won't want to work in the country's finest weapon's manufacturing company? Keeping aside their largest contribution of weapons to Indian Army and foreign countries, they got a glamorous, stylish headquarters at Mumbai.
None can resist the temptation, certainly not Sanyukta Agarwal, who was dying to meet and learn from Renuka Sanyal, CEO and founder of Shekhawat Enterprise, THE business woman of country and an influential figure in global business. That woman made her place at "top 10 most influential female of world" by a renowned magazine for God's sake, and since Sanykta can remember, she worshiped her! So, when the offer came to work in Shekhawat Enterprise as an intern, she didn't think twice and said yes.
Technically, she won't work right under Renuka sanyal, she will be in IT, with hundred others, developing and upgrading and the company's security system. But there will be occasional meetings, she is hoping to see the woman with her own eyes, it doesn't matter she will die right at the spot if Renuka Sanyal do as much as look at her.
Yeah, she is that much of a fan girl!
Some 1 week later, she found herself sitting with 9 other members from IT in the meeting room of Shekhawat Mansion. She joined yesterday at the company, and today the meeting with the woman of her dreams (literally!), she could not ask for more. her palms continued to get sweaty though she rubbed them frequently on her skirt, trying to appear calm while keep chanting in mind don't freak out stay cool, don't freak out stay cool. . . even the AC was not helping. She tried to concentrate toward the interior of meeting room, everything was in white, and spotless! She wondered how much maid Renuka Sanyal had to keep this place spotless. But then, she can manage a million servant with the amount of wealth she has, Sanykta thought to herself and snorted.
The quiet murmur in room suddenly got interrupted when from some place, probably the basement, a loud and rather ear shattering sound of Rock music emerged. The people gave each other looks and sighed, shaking head as if they are all too familiar with this. Sanykta looked at them, trying to guess what was going through their head, when the girl beside her, another intern like her, whispered.
"That must be Ma'am's Son."
She frowned, but nodded her head to the girl, Kaustuki, a north eastern girl who came from IIT Kharagpur. Every year, Shekhawat Enterprise pick up best students from various institutions and offer them internship in the company. It's a prestigious offer, as you don't choose SE, it chooses you. Students gets placed in IT, R&D, Accounts, and various other departments based on their skills, and this year Kaustuki and Sanyukta were interns in IT, the two girls.
Of course, who doesn't know about Renuka Sanyal's Son, Randhir Singh Shekhawat? The youngest student ever to graduate from IIT Bombay in the field of Mechanical Engineering, at the age of 16 he went to Yales and completed further education. He is a living genius, with an amazing IQ and inventions skill, won several awards for his contribution to the weapon industries. Currently he is in R&D, working with the company to make advance weaponries for Army, which is a big buzz nowadays inside the company and media. Sanyukta had several times seen his picture in magazine, and even she admit that he is good looking, which is something considering she don't even spare a glance to most of 'good looking' guys. She is not arrogant of her beauty or skills, just not interested to check out other males when she has better things to do, like making new codes for a new software.
But he is 27, and this loud music thing is such a childish thing to do! Doesn't he know his Mother is holding a meeting in the mansion? She thought to herself and felt getting irritated, but the feeling was there only for short time as Renuka Sanyal entered the room. As soon as she closed the door behind her, the Rock music vanished from BG.
Hmm, sound proof, Sanyukta barely registered this as she gulped, half gawking, half cursing herself for gawking, at the calm, business like figure of Renuka Sanyal in front of her who was standing less than 10 feet away from her. The woman took her seat with grace, eyeing everyone and getting to the point within a minute. She spared a glance at the interns, politely nodding at them and Sanyukta had to physically restrain herself to squeal aloud like a small girl and make a fool of herself.
The meeting was over within 2 hours, important decisions were taken regarding Shekhawat Enterprise's security developments. After most of the people left room, the head of IT department, Pankaj Kumar Chaube aka PKC introduced the new interns once again to Renuka Sanyal, this time properly.
"Kaustuki Sherpa from IIT Kharagpur, honored to meet you." Sanyukta envied at how ease Kaustuki was when she shook Renuka Sanyal's hand with a firm grip, while she stuttered.
"San. . . Sanyukta Agarwa. . . it's an honor."
Renuka Sanyal gave an amused look at the nervous girl in front of her, then focused on them both "Welcome to Shekhawat Enterprise, both of you. Hopefully, you will enjoy working here and contribute to the benefit of company."
Both the girls nodded and Renuka Sanyal left the room, her security following her as soon as she was out of room. The rock music again filled in the air, apparently it was going on all this time. The girls quickly gathered their stuff and went toward the door, heading for Shekhawat Enterprise.
Sanyukta was descending from stairs when the rock music stopped. Thank god, the loud music was driving her crazy, and she hates fast paced songs whose lyrics makes no sense. She can't even differentiate between rap, rock and hip hop, all English songs feels same to her ears. She was near the door, which was gigantic, an 8 feet person with 200 kg weight can enter through that -- when she heard a male voice singing from somewhere.
I see you driving around town with the girl I love and I am like, Fu*% you!
She froze at the spot, stunned. No, someone, definitely a male, didn't just swear behind her and used the F word aloud! No, it's not happening.
But then, the male continued with next lyrics.
And I guess the change in my pocket was not enough, and I am like, Fu&% you!
No, this is NO mistake. Someone is really swearing aloud behind her. That's why she hates English fast paced song, lyrics filled with nothing but rude, curse words. She is anti-cursing. The only word she ever used was "Damn!", but only if she had a bad day.
She turned around, and instantly met with the 'singer', who was coming to living room which appeared from basement. His jeans and t-shirt was dirty, several fingerprints which obviously his, on them, and his messy get black hair covering his whole forehead. Sanyukta's nostrils filled with the scent of grease and engine oil and she wrinkled her nose, not impressed by his appearance. But he was oblivious to her attention, the music continued to blast his ears through the head phone and he continued to sing aloud the lyrics filled with 'curse words' as she put it.
She had enough when he uttered the unforgivable F word for the 4th time, she opened her mouth to give him some manners lecture, when the guy noticed her. He looked surprised, his brows frowning in concentration, but it stayed only for a sec as he slowly removed his earphones and let them hung on his neck, and mischievous smirk coming on his lips.
"Ooh, Mommy didn't mention we are having guest." He said in fake childish tone, which only added more to Sanyukta's irritation. They both continued to look at each other without another word, the guy with an amused look while the girl with a disgusted expression.
That was the first time Sanyukta Agarwal, 25, from IT, Shekhawat Enterprise, met Randhir "RD" Singh Shekhawat, 27, Genius, youngest graduate from IIT, from R&D, her future Boss.
Never in her life had she thought to meet him, on the very same day when she just met the idol of her life. Never did she imagine the 'god-gifted genius' of India roam around in his mansion in dirty clothes, smell like engine oils and hear weird songs filled with curse words. And he was barefooted! He definitely skipped manners and behaviors class in IIT. Wait, does IITs even have those classes?
She snapped out of her crazy thoughts when the 'genius' spoke again, Argh, even his voice is irritating, "Checking me out, I take it you are not used to subtleties."
Huh? Checking him out? Yes, she admits, he is good looking, but No! No way she is checking him out, he is clearly delusional, and God so arrogant! Who knew behind the pretty face and long list of achievements, this man is a jerk!
"Its fine, I don't mind. you are not bad yourself to look at." he continued, his hands inside the pockets of his dirty jeans, that amused grin plastered on his face as if she just cracked a joke. She narrowed her eyes, totally pissed at him and turned on her heels without another word.
"Oh hello! At least tell your name. . .'' She heard him continued to yell behind her, jerk!
What a disastrous end of a beautiful day!
"Randhir, you may be my favorite ex-student, but that doesn't mean I will always able to do things for you." The caller paused, then added, "Can you turn down the music? I can hardly hear you."
"Tell me, Vardhan sir," RD said to his Bluetooth as he leaned back to his cozy couch, the arrogant smirk plastered on his lips and completely ignoring the last part, "are you scared that you will be tempted by the amazing machines in R&D department and leave IIT?"
"Randhir Singh Shekhwat!" Vardhan tried to sound stern but failed, "The audacity of yours!"
"Then come." He argued. Vardhan sighed.
"I told you. Exams are coming. There are extra classes, students' needs me. . . besides" He paused, "I won't be tempted by your amazing machines. Teaching is my passion, it's my aim in life. . ."
"To make more geniuses like me." RD finished for him, and Vardhan rolled his eyes over the phone, "I know. But really Sir, I need to look at this just one time. I have to make sure."
"We both know there is no need. The designs you sent me, those are perfect! And turn down the music!"
"But these are not designs, its prototype. In 3 days I have to give demonstration and I don't want to take risk."
The ex-student teacher duo continued to bicker over phone. RD has an important meeting with Indian Army in next 3 days about new type of tanks and drones, the prototypes are ready and he just want his favorite teacher and mentor, Vardhan Suryavanshi to have a look at them. Vardhan was an alumni and faculty member of IIT Bombay, and RD's favorite teacher. They both share an interesting bond, not exactly like a teacher student, but more like elder-younger brother. For Vardhan, RD is a stubborn male child, but with brains, and he hardly ever denied him anything no matter what. RD worship Vardhan, can do anything, and he is the only person to call him Randhir, besides his Mother Renuka Sanyal. Deep down he know there is hardly anything wrong with the models, as when Randhir Singh Shekhawat put his focus on something, the success rate is 200%, still he wanted to be make sure. Any other time, he just have to inform Vardhan and he will show up next day, but this was exam season and RD have to press hard.
"Randhir. . . " Vardhan tried one more time, rubbing his temple. To be honest, he loved coming to Shekhawat enterprise's R&D department, those machines and inventions and enthusiasm and team work, he loved them, but he can't be selfish with his students. Damn Randhir Singh Shekhawat, making him choose between his passion and temptation.
"Sir, 2 hour is all I need. I promise."
Vardhan sighed, and RD grinned wider, knowing he won this argument, "Fine, 2 hours. If I don't show up for extra classes tomorrow afternoon, and Dean Maya summon me to her cabin, then you are doomed Randhir Singh Shekhawat.'' and with that he cut the call.
At the exact same time, his best friend, Parth Kashyap, entered the basement. RD didn't have to turn, he was too busy to celebrate his victory with Vardhan in mind. He heard Parth talking behind him and turned the chair to him.
"Don't tell me that engine parts on floor are from the new Audi." He rubbed his temple, his eyes toward the engine parts on the floor, while RD continued to grin, giving away the answer.
"Why, Randhir Singh Shekhawat, you remove every engine of all the cars you got?" Parth removed the metals from another chair which fell on floor with click and sat on it, "You know someday, there won't be any car left in this house because all of their engines will be here, in basement."
"What can I say, dismantling is my style." He replied, nonchalantly, to which Parth sighed. RD has a weird habit, any car he buys, he first remove the engine and do weird experiments on it, which is out of any living Human mind's reach. The basement is always filled with his laptops, car's parts, and newest cars, but none of them works because they don't have any engine!
"Dude, when you last showered?" Parth wrinkled his nose, "you smell like engine oil."
"I last showered when you returned home." Which was 10 days ago, he was not serious, but the expression on his best friend's face was priceless. Parth looked disgusted.
"No girl will even look at you right now if they see you in this condition. And someday you will be deaf, who listen to music which is this much loud?" He commented, leaning back so that the smell of engine oil don't hit him anymore.
"Captain Parth Kashyap, are not you full of complains?" RD rolled his eyes, "What brings you to my Mansion so early this morning?" He exclaimed in a fake surprised tone.
"You remember the weapon demonstration meeting in 3 days?" Parth was suddenly business like.
"Yeah, and before," RD raised his voice as Parth opened his mouth to say something, "You ask me for the thousand time, all prototypes are ready. Vardhan sir is coming to give them a final look. I won't fukc up. I won't be late. I will wear suit and be presentable. I will shave also. Anything I miss?"
Parth's mouth was in 0 shape, and before he can say more, RD was on his feet, wearing his greasy- fingerprints filled dirty white t-shirt which he wear most of the time in basement, and putting on his headphone, "Now, if you will excuse me, I am hungry and I am going to have breakfast."
"Bring me an Apple." Parth commented from his chair, to which the former narrowed his eyes before starting music on his iPod, "Lazy ass."
With that he was out of basement. He continued to enjoy and sing out loud the song he was hearing, totally oblivious that he was in living room and someone is staring at him. When he noticed the someone, he was pleasantly surprised.
Sometime, I really love HR department, He thought and smirked, hiring beautiful people.
This people was a lady, in her mid -20s, almost his height. Fair complexion, big beautiful eyes, dressed in grey skirt and white shirt. Actually, she looked pretty also. Of course, a newbie. Does not SE hires interns around this time of year? Also, today was meeting with IT, he had heard his Mother talking to her PA about it yesterday. Hmm, IT intern. Nice, not chasmish or geeky. Who knew HR people nowadays also giving point to looks?
But wait, the girl is not looking at her with goo goo eyes. Well, his mind said, you are not exactly presentable right now, dirty t-shirt and. . . what Parth said, smell like engine oil. Cant blame her. Still, the inner flirt could not stop itself, and soon he was giving his trademark smirk to the girl. He was pleased too when the girl was staring at him, yes baby, It's hard to ignore this handsome face, he thought to himself.
He was out of his wits when the girl looked disgusted by him, and soon was leaving. She didn't even introduce herself, let alone flirting or blushing to his compliments. Well, this was a first, he thought to himself and started walking toward kitchen. He placed an order of large sized pizza with extra cheese, took one Mountain dew and an Apple and headed back toward basement.
"Someday, I will make a security system so that none can touch my music system, not even you!" RD said in an annoyed tone as soon as he was inside basement, pointing a finger to Parth. He threw the apple to him and walked over the music system, turning on the earlier music which Parth turned off as soon as he was out of here.
"Ha-ha, dream on Genius." Parth replied, amused, "You are as good with computer as I am with cooking."
That was true. Randhir Singh Shekhawat must be a genius when it comes to weapons and car engines, but he can't even troubleshoot if his mouse stop working. He only know how his software work, nothing else. He huffed in annoyance, taking the same seat like earlier and started to move in different direction. Apparently he can't sit quietly even when a conversation is taking place.
"So, when you are leaving for the land of rainbows and unicorns?" RD inquired as he opened his Mountain dew's can and took a sip. Parth scoffed.
"Dude, you should really stop mentioning LOC like that."
"I don't know why you joined Army anyway." He replied, "Must be the national sentiment which didn't infect me yet."
Parth and RD were friends since pre- school. Both are poles apart, Parth- sane, favorite of everyone, and the perfect man. RD- man child, eccentric, too smart for his own good, arrogant, cocky, stubborn, and the list can go on and on. And yet both are best friends. He jumped grades and soon landed in IIT, the youngest ever student to enter there solely because of his merits, and then went to Yales. Parth finished his Masters and joined Army, like his full family. They both remained friends throughout years, RD must be out going and expressive but he don't have any friends besides Parth. Parth is the only one who can bear him with all his crazy eccentricities.
"To answer your question," Parth replied after chuckling to RD's earlier words, "I am leaving the day after your weapon demonstration. I am pretty excited what you are going to present. . . " He paused for a while, "can I come tomorrow to R&D?"
"Dream on." RD scoffed, "I am not showing you my prototypes before meeting."
"I am your best friend!"
"Why, Captain Parth," he smirked, looking straight to him, "you sound desperate?"
"Vardhan sir can see it, but not me?" Parth asked with a stern face.
"Vardhan is there to give feedback."
"I can give too."
"Are you IIT alumni? Or Mechanical engineer?" he said with arrogance, and Parth huffed, "Thought so. The answer is no."
"I can sneak inside R&D"
"I will redouble security."
Both best friend gave each other challenging look one minute, then they were both grinning.
"You stubborn brat!" Parth exclaimed, with a smirk, "always so secretive." Then he went off this topic and started talking about his family, the condition of LOC, the excitement inside Army about the weapons meeting with Shekhawat Enterprise. RD was hardly listening to him, one second he was thinking Mountain dew should taste like Beer, then he was thinking why pizza is not coming, then he was thinking about that beautiful weird girl who didn't give vao to him.
"Am I that hideous looking?" he asked aloud to Parth who was going on about Army's latest planning in LOC.
"Huh?"
"When I am in this t shirt and jeans." RD explained, "DO I look like shit that none will look at me twice?"
"Who didn't look at you twice?"
"Some girl from IT."
"And how do you know she is from IT?" Parth frowned, to which RD gave a how-do-you-think-I-know look.
"I stay in this Mansion. Yes, I spent my lifetime in this basement but I can see and hear things. I know what's going on in house."
"Really?" Parth was amused, "so, tell me, where the staff keeps newspapers?"
"Err. . . " RD scratched his head, thinking hard, and Parth laughed aloud, proving his point.
"One girl didn't look twice at Randhir Singh Shekhwat and he is having complex? I thought you can do better."
"Maybe she is lesbian." RD mumbled to himself, "That's why not interested in me. I refuse to believe even when I smell like diesel and dress in dirty clothes anyone can resist my handsome face and charm."
"Don't be ridiculous." Parth scold.
"Baba Parth, come to 2014 from 1880." RD said sarcastically, "people like Gay, lesbian and transgender exist! I know you are still stuck in Victorian era but please, come to 2014."
"I know that, thanks for gender classification, idiot." Parth looked at him sternly, "All i am saying you should not pass comment when you know nothing about a girl."
"I can just call in HR and get all info."
"Gosh, are not you a egoistical brat." He shook his head.
Do let me know how this is looking like and if I should continue😳
