Hi All,
I'm a silent member of this forum for the most part and stopped watching the show regularly after Sid and Roshni moved in with DD.
I couldn't hold back today though - I stay in the loop of the show by reading the written updates and really enjoy the discussion this forum generates and wanted to make a topic.
I must begin by saying I am pretty disappointed and frustrated with the show. I really liked the promos and the first few weeks were fun to watch - SId and Roshni's interactions, Sid's interactions with DD - some pretty witty one liners etc. I really felt the show had so much potential - really why is the responsibility always on women to keep families together and treat her in laws like her own parents - his family as hers etc but when a son in law tries to do something for his in laws aka her family - that is looked down on? I was hopeful that this show would (in an entertaining light hearted way) really highlight this disparity and convey a social message to promote more equality in relationships.
I am thoroughly frustrated with Sid and his parents who are SO rich yet pretend to be paupers (read - middle class) and tolerate all of DD's insults and taunts - all of this for what reason? The reason that Sid can't tell Roshni his real identity because she hates rich people - thinks they are all heartless and ruthless. How you marry someone who's true identity is unknown (didn't they have to get their marriage registered?) how they believe that after this sham that has gone on for countless months - Roshni won't have even BIGGER trust issues - is beyond me. Even if she finds it in her to forgive him and his family as she realizes that they did all this because they didn't want to hurt her and wanted her to know them before disclosing their true identity - but realistically/logically speaking - that will still be hard to over come - how can you trust someone again after they got their entire family to put on a show for you for months?
I do understand this is a TV show and creative liberties are in order and we shouldn't take this so seriously. But really?! There are just some blaring loopholes that are much too obvious to sideline.
How does DD (supposedly self made and now high class) not know of the Khurana's? How do the Khurana's just take over a chawl as and when needed? So odd.
Now coming to the latest track - the Sid/Pratima mystery. It seems to me Pratima is Bablu chachu's secret wife. Now while I can understand Sid is a REALLY nice guy, he wants to set everything right for all members of Roshni's family etc - his lying/scheming is not helping his case especially if Roshni forgives him on this - imagine how much more hurt she'll be when she finds out his true Identity of Siddharth Khurana not Kukreja.
CVs need to turn this ship around fast - it's getting too complicated/convoluted for no good reason.
