TOI- Delhi the new hunting ground for telly casting

TV showmakers say that it's their Delhi roots that also play a role in their coming to the city to look for new actors. Producer Rajan Shahi says, "Delhi has always been one of the biggest contributors of talent to the industry. TV today is not only dominated by actors from Delhi, but there are a lot of producers and writers who have their roots here. They are aware of the local talent in the city. Actors like Kinshuk Mahajan and Karan Mehra, who have worked with me, are from Delhi and are doing well. Even I am from here and the city is quite close to my heart. Delhi has the National School Of Drama, which has given the industry some great actors. However, the only problem is lack of professionalism. There are not many casting directors who can help you get actors. The city has some beautiful locations but permissions are difficult to get, which is a turn-off."
