But Mehta claims to be progressive thinking. But what does he do? All he does is claiming to be a bechara husband, asking Anjali to do all household jobs, not wanting to help. If he had issues with Anjali's cooking, couldn't he sit with her and sort out differences and reach a compromise like a sensible person?

If Mehta had problems with Anjali's cooking he should cook for himself and stop complaining about what Anjali feeds him.

Anjali - Mehta's Diet food problem was never logical .
Respecting your wife or women in general doesn't mean to accept everything nonsense they do or ask you to do.

Mehta needed heart to heart talk with Anjali. He needed to stick with his words that diet food everyday will not be accepted. How can a wife threaten a man to leave him because he doesn't eat her diet food ? Kaha par hota hai ? Giving an upper hand to your spouse is not a sign of happy marital life.

The same thing goes for Iyyer- Babita. Instead of trying to outsmart Jetha, he should explain Babita what makes Jetha an annoying neighbour. One cannot deny that Babita allows Jetha to flirt with her. I cannot believe a woman cannot differentiate between being friendly and being a flirt.

@ Angela : The problem wasn't that Mehta needed Anjali to cook his meal. He would happily eat outside or even cook if needed. The problem remained that she wont allow him to do so. Mehta's problem is that he is a henpecked husband.

I guess instead of making a poll on who is a good husband I should make a poll on who is the biggest henpecked husband in the show.😆Almost all married men in the society seem to be henpecked husbands who seem to jhelofy their wives in some way or the other.I guess sodhi and haathi are the exceptions. But at the same time they also are little MCPs.

Bhide no doubt, but for me it has to be iyer-He sent Babita abroad alone despite knowing he can't come-He buys her expensive gifts even though she doesn't respect him-She favours Jetha still he loves her like mad-Bhide is good ,but Madhvi is equally good ,they are like diya& bathi-Iyer is whole & sole in the marriage thing, while Babs is nowheer seen to be with him except in outings/shopping.So Iyer is a true jeevan sathi according to me!!!(Bhide is my fav but iyer hre)
