Pre-Wedding Days
Next day Tara woke up early and went home to get ready for college.
Mrityunjay went into Dadaji's room.
"Son, come sit near me. Did you call Panditji to fix the wedding date??"
"Dadaji..." After taking a short pause he continued, "Actually...Tara wants this wedding to be done in a simple way as you and her mother both are not well. She thinks blessings are important in marriage rather than decorations."
Dadaji was impressed with Tara's view. "As she says son."
"Dadaji...I will take the first date available from the registrar."
"Yes son."
"This girl is correct for Mrityunjay." He smiled thinking this.

Tara visited the hospital before going to college. After 9 o'clock Tara's phone rang. It was Mrityunjay's call. Talking to Mrityunjay was never awkward or hesitating to her but today it was.
Seeing Tara not taking the call, Aradhana snatched her phone from her hand. Seeing Mrityunjay's name she immediately took the call.
"Hello beta."
"Hello Aunty, How are you?"
"I am fine. Talk to Tara..."
"No need Aunty. I called to inform that the wedding date has been fixed after one week."
"Ok beta." Mrityunjay hung up the phone.
"Tara, did you hear? Your wedding is after one week. Oh...Thank you God..." Aradhana said in one breath.
Tara stood up to leave for college, Aradhana interrupted her.
"Tara now you should leave this job, as you are going to be married."
"Mom..." she rolled her eyes. Already her head was spinning because of the sudden changes and now this.
"Ok, don't leave but take a month's holiday... you can do that at least..."
"Ok Mom I will."
*****
After reaching college, Tara gave application for one month holiday, stating her wedding as the reason. Her application was accepted. This news spread in college like wildfire. Everyone congratulated her. Yug, Adi, Meethi, Vasu, Bunty and Nandu went to wish Tara.
"Congrats Ma'am!" All shouted with joy.
"Thank you students," she smiled.
"Ma'am, may we know who is the lucky man who you are going to marry??" asked Vasu hesitatingly.
Tara smiled. She saw all the students were waiting for her answer.
"You know him."
"We know him!!" Bunty exclaimed in surprise.
"Yug it's your Mrityunjay Bhai."
All students rejoiced with this news.
Excited with this news, Adi asked, "Ma'am can we come to the wedding?"
"Students it's not the type of wedding that you are hoping for, it's a court marriage."
"So what ma'am, we would like to join this happy occasion." Meethi expressed their desire to be part of her happiness.
"Ok then see you next week at the registrar office." She smiled.
Tara was trying to be normal with this sudden change of events.
*****
In the evening Tara was at the hospital. Mrityunjay too arrived there as his regular visit to Aradhana. He stayed there till the end of visiting hours.
When he was leaving, he asked Tara if she was going home then he would drop her there.
Tara refused, as she wanted to spend as much time as possible with Aradhana in the remaining days before the wedding.
Aradhana cupped Tara's face and said, "Go Tara, collect your childhood memories from home. Pack up the things that you would like to take to your new life."
"How could one collect a journey of a lifetime in one bag?" thought Tara, but to keep her mom's wish she left with Mrityunjay.
In the car both were quiet. This time to break the ice Tara initiated the talk.
"How is Dadaji??"
"He is better than yesterday. Hearing our wedding news worked as medicine for him."
After this conversation, there was again silence in the car.
Now Mrityunjay initiated, "Who is coming from your side to the registrar office as witness?"
"My HOD and Principal."
"Ok. From my side Dr. Fahim and Dadaji will come."
"Aa...Yug and his friends, they are also coming."
"That will be great as I was thinking to ask you about that."
She smiled hearing Mrityunjay.
After reaching home, Tara was going through her stuff for what she would take to Mrityunjay's house, when she found the family album. Tears were flowing from her eyes seeing her childhood days with her mom and dad. She also found her college slam book.
She opened it to see how stupid she was in her college days. She was laughing while reading it. She stopped at one page. She remembered how her friend had asked her views about marriage and she wrote this.
"Marriage...a complicated recipe in which love is the most important ingredient, without love marrying is like cooking a dish without its main ingredient which is equal to not cooking it at all. So before marriage you should love the person to whom you are getting married." She smiled reading it.
Her inner self bugged her, "Tara, why are you smiling?? You are getting married. Do you love him?? You said that love is important for marriage, and now you are marrying without loving him??"
She smiled and tried to convince it by saying, "This was written by a college girl who didn't know what life actually is. But I know. Sometimes we have to do some things because it is the right thing to do at that time and love...Love...it can happen anytime."
