But after like 2 months of the show, I find Rupan to be the most well written and interesting character.
Probably because of the way she behaves and talks to the face, we feel she isn't a positive character. I think she is as positive as the other characters, but just that she is not a very sweet person.
We have seen her commenting sarcastically at Ramesh and his family. She mocks Lakshmi at her family's financial status. She comments about Nisha's relation with Saurav. She comments about Dadaji being angry with Ramesh and lot more. But she never does anything behind their back. She tells it directly which just shows her intentions aren't evil. She doesn't want bad for anyone. Just that she wishes the best for her kids. She is more of a gossip women, who wants to discuss everything even in the presence of the person in spotlight.
When Dadaji chose Ritiesh for Nisha, she felt bad. But she didn't plot against Nisha to put her in a bad scene. She tried to impress Ritiesh by over caring for him, by asking Kirti to spend more time with him hoping Ritiesh would like Kirti. I am not saying that was good. But it was nothing against Nisha.
Though she mocks at Ramesh, they share a very tom and jerry kind of bond. During the time Ritiesh was invited for dinner, she and Ramesh had a competition for cooking. She didn't want Ramesh to lose but she wanted to win. She wanted her cooking to be the best and when Ramesh said he has completed it, she didn't doubt him.
I loved the scene where she consoled Lakshmi when the dinner didn't go well. She convinced how Nisha is a heera and she will get the best in her life. In yesterday's episode, I half expected her to not to believe what Lakshmi said about the teacher and Jwala. I expected her to blame Jwala for the incident. But she had complete trust on Lakshmi and Nisha and she loves her daughter. She was proud of Nisha being such a protective sister for her daughter. I want to see Rupan change her behaviour towards Jwala and be more loving towards her from now on.
Her not wanting to go to the police was a typical mother. Its not because she doesn't want the criminal to be punished. She just don't want more problems for her daughter. If word goes out about the incident, just imagine Jwala's state in the school. Her friends and teachers would definitely look down upon her which as a mother she doesn't want.
She is selfish(which isn't evil). She wants to project her status and money (again not evil). She comments sarcastically (with no bad intentions) and she is completely unpredictable which makes her character the most interesting one.
She isn't my favorite character. But when she is on screen, she keeps me guessing about her reactions.
