Bua embarrasses Arnav more by asking him why he didn't bring any gift for Khushi. To hear this Arnav's anger melts away in a jiffy. When Arnav asks Khushi ruefully is it her birthday today, bua enrages more, how could he forgot his wife's birthday! Her husband was like that also. Amma feels bad for her darling son in law. Isn't she always a bit penchant to him? We noticed it earlier also, when Arnav came to stay at GH. But I liked it. If IPK's sequel makes, I would love to see a special mom and son relationship between Garima and Arnav.
Garima is trying to calm bua down, but no avail, bua literally starts to chide Arnav. Arnav looks at Khushi with bafflement, why she didn't tell him about her birthday! But Khushi looks still sullen.
"dhekho humari chatak bharki bhatiji, uska maan kitna bhari ho giya!"
(Look my light weight niece's heart became so heavy!)
Bua tells Arnav to do Arti with her. Our atheist man can't retort his inexorable MIL and like a submissive boy stands in front of DM. but rather doing aarti, he just stares at his beautiful wife every now and then. Khushi also is stealing glances at her laad governor with darting eyes who has become a lovelorn Majnu.
Khushi is looking beautiful in her peach outfit, as if glowing like a newly wed bride.
After the pooja Arnav and Khushi take blessings of her parents. First bua blesses her for being happy and sada suhagan, what means be with her husband forever. At her blessings both Arnav and Khsuhi look at each other. They know their marriage will end soon according to the contract, but Arnav knows he will make her sada suhagan for sure.
When Khushi goes to take blessings of her dad, amma tells her that he is convalescing well, what makes her happy and so as Arnav. It was so nice to see that Arnav always considered his in laws his own family, always tried to take care of them and showed his genuine concern. I wish I could see a real conversation between Sashii and Arnav. I know he disliked his dad, but I'm sure he will love his father in law, cause Sashi is a gem of a person and always very fond of Arnav, even when he didn't know him properly.
Arnav turns to Khushi and tells her acquiescently with husky tone that he didn't know that it's her birthday. "Mai... " he can't complete as bua's interrupts,
"hum khane ki intezam kar rahi hoon, tab tak tum soch lo ki tum tumhari shireematijo ko kaise manaoge" (I'm preparing food, by this time, you decide how will you mollify your wife)
Arnav says he will not eat. bua gets angry to hear this. She comes with a spatula, like the strict school teacher as if came to punish her student for disobedience,
, "nahi khaoge?...you will not eat?"
""khoonga naa...yes I will eat." Arnav is eerie at bua's dhamki.
After bua left, he again tries to wish Khushi happy birthday. But the laconic man can't utter the next word after saying haa..
"dhanyabad...thank you" Without hearing happy birthday wish from his mouth, Khushi thanks him, but with resentment.
Arnav says he met Happy Singh outside and he was asking for her. Khushi rankles more to hear this. Arnav tries to say more. But his stammering embitters Khushi and she leaves to help bua in the kitchen.
it looks like Arnav has become submissive like other husband in front of his lofty wife.
That broken mirror is still hanging in GH's patio. While washing hand in the sink, Arnav sees his reflection there and says with empathy,
"Arnav singh Raizada." as if he is cursing himself for not able to wish Khushi happy birthday. Suddenly he hears Khushi's chirpy voice from inside the room. He comes near the door and espies her from outside; bua is allaying bad eyes from her by red peppers. She is rotating her hands in front of her face holding the mirchi in her hand. Khushi banters, if she rotates her hand like this, she will feel giddy, then rather allaying the evil eyes from her she will fall down. She leans down on bua, as if really fainted on her. Bua chides her to stand straight. Arnav gets enamored to see her innocent candor. To irritate bua, Khushi also does the same with the mirchi how bua did. Arnav is simply smitten, a wide variety of emotions ebbs and flows from his heart, suffuses his face with immense happiness. He is mesmerized to see her beautiful smile. Her innocence, her serendipity, her positive attitude towards life and above all her angelic beauty always pulls Arnav towards her more viscerally.
While Arnav was watching her beautiful wife craziness, suddenly he feels bad to see her bag which tears as she farced a big container of laddoo there, what bua gave to her. Arnav feels a pang to see that. He is so rich, but his wife doesn't even usurp his money.
Bua says with annoyance that it's not the fault of her laddoo, it's her old bag. Why she is not buying a new one? Khushi thinks her old bag is quite good.
Arnav gets the idea of the gift what he can give on her birthday. He calls somebody to order a bag for Khushi.
Inside the room, bua tells Khushi to wait, because she is bringing the breakfast and they will eat all together. She asks her did Arnav wish her happy birthday yet! khushi replies with resentment that he does not wish anybody happy birthday. Lavanya once told her that till today he never wished anybody happy birthday. Bua is flabbergasted to hear that.
Payal didn't forget her baby sister's birthday. She is making lots of food for Khushi, what are her favorite. Mami comes there with her obnoxious attitude. She jests her scathingly, why she is making so many dishes, is someone getting married? She starts to rebuke her, trying to find her fault; why the lid of the salt is open and blah blah blah. She wants to eat some snacks and pretends that she can't get it from the higher shelf. Forgetting about the poori what she was frying, Payal runs to help her. But payal who is much shorter than mami literally struggles to get the pot down. By this time the poori got burnt. Mami gets delectable, because her mission is accomplished. She chides her, she burnt everything. She now even doesn't feel to eat anything.
"kaam ki na kaajki dushman annachki"
mami is sure a cretin! Her asperity for Payal sometimes looks really silly.
Arnav and bua shares a cute scene together. Arnav is running after bua to talk to her, but bua avoids him as if he doesn't exist. he pours water to drink to lessen his nervousness, but bua drinks his water also. She screams Khushi and tells her to give medicine to her dad. Arnav is trying to grab her attention, if she doesn't listen to him, how he can make her understand! He pulls a chair to sit but buaji sits on his chair makes him almost fall down. He tries to say, he really didn't know that it was Khushi's birthday. bua says grimly,
"nandkissore,humare sath ragalap ki koyi zarroraat nahi hai, manana hai to unko jake manao."
(You don't have to converse mellifluous words with me. If you want to appease someone, go and pacify her.)
But Arnav's focus is buaji, he knows he will somehow placate Khushi, but why buaji is behaving so weird with him! Bua asks him, does he want to please her? When Arnav assents bua, she smiles sardonically. So bua concocted something, no wonder she is the aunt of sanka devi.
In GH all sits to have a scrumptious breakfast. bua fills Arnav's plate with plenty of food. Barun must be very happy to see so much food on his plate. But our Arnavji certainly not, he looks nonplus and baffled. Bua says, he wished to please her, so by eating all the food he can please her. Arnav looks at bua like a helpless kid.
"Khaiye, khaiye, sharmaye nahi...eat please, don't be shy"
She gives lots of halwa on his plate, "take some halwa of desi ghee."
Khushi is also dumbfounded. Arnav can't understand how he can start to eat, so he asks Khushi for some water. Bua gives more poori on his plate,
"Take more poori, aapna samajhke khaiye."
To see his baffled state, Amma and bua are smiling mischievously. The man is sweating and eating with disgust. But he is also trying to wish Khushi happy birthday. Fortunately a spoon fells down on the ground. Both Arnav and Khushi bend down to grab it and their head collide. Arnav holds Khushi's hand and tries to say happy birthday. But again he can't utter not more than haa Khushi asks him with irritation "what is haa..haa? does he want half poori?"
She tells bua to give Arnav not half poori, but full poori. Bua gets delighted, she again stacks his plate with poori and tells him to eat.
She even feeds him by her own hand. Poor arnav is in predicament, though he eats like an obedient kid but feeling, this must be the end of world. Bua looks at him with delight; she is really pleased with him.
Arnav again tries to say happy birthday. This time he becomes successful to utter happy. But instead saying happy birthday he asks is happy Singh there in the garage. amma answers him enthusiastically, yes he is, why he needs him? Does his car get bad? What he will answer. But bua get a chance to irritate him and she fills his plate with more poori. She says adorably, how nicely he is eating? Bua thinks to play more prank with him, she asks him, does he want more? Arnav assents with innocence. Both amma and bua starts to laugh,
"No son, I already troubled you a lot. Whatever I gave you, without retorting back, you ate it all. You really won my heart."
She blesses him.
Khushi leaves the dining area and bua keeps her big arm on Arnav's shoulder, tells him, he became successful to impress her, but how he will impress her? She gestures towards Khushi. Khushi turns back with an angry glare and Arnav smiles sweetly.
Back in RM mami's tirade continues,
'jalebi for phati saree, rabri for her, what for my son? Burnt poori! Do you see any thing else beside her? You wake up khhoon bhari tang."
Payal is so nervous that she is about to cry. She says she will make the food right now. But her inexorable MIL even doesn't want that. She calls HP to prepare food for her son. She thinks it's not the refugee camp of her bua and she should think beyond her sister, she is also the DIL of the family. Akash comes there to get his lunch and mami gets the chance to humiliate Payal more. She tells sarcastically that today he has to adjust the lunch with dinner. Payal says she will make it in 5 minutes. mami berates her, if you can finish jalebi and rabri for your sister, then cook lunch for her son in 5 minutes.
Payal just burnt one poori, then why so much worry! Serve the rest which didn't burn.
In GH, Arnav receives the parcel what he ordered for Khushi. Khushi also comes there hearing the door bell. She smiles to see the beautifully packed gift. Arnav gives it to her lovingly,
"it's for you.'
His mouth opens to say happy birthday, but he can't say anything, instead ask for hand crme. Poor man, feels bad again for not able to say happy birthday.
"Aman mathur! he is your manager right?" Khushi's eyes go to the name on the gift wrap,
Arnav says that he told him to pick it up.
Khushi opens the gift. She is happy to see the gift. Arnav looks at her with an expectation in his eyes. He is trying to figure out is she happy or not.
Khushi says Aman is so nice that sent such beautiful gift! Arnav is trying to say that not Aman but he gave it to her. Khushi also knows not Aman but Arnav gave this gift. But she wants to irritate him by not giving him the chance to speak. She calls Aman immediately and thanks him. According to her expression it seemed Aman said ASR gave it to her. But she thanks him as he was the one who sent it. Bua also comes there to see who came. Khushi shows her the bag, tells her that Aman gave this gift. Arnav drags her aside and says with gritted teeth that he gave the bag. Khushi asks him, did he choose it or did he go to buy? Then he must've told Aman from where he should buy or he must've packed it. All the answers came no from ASR. Khushi is bewildered, then how this gift can be sent by you? Arnav assents with anger,
"lagta to nahi raha...it doesn't look so."
'Khushi also agrees by crumpling her nose.
Pause: I am annoyed with Khushi's preposterous behavior. One doesn't need to buy the gift by himself, the thought and intention is most important.
She shows the bag to amma and bua who are examining the bag enthusiastically.
Khushi put it on her shoulder and shows them, how nice it can look. The two elderly ladies love it and guess it must be very expensive.
Khushi also looks at Arnav and makes face. Arnav becomes irascible now.
Akash is mad at Payal. She pleads him to wait, she will prepare lunch fast. But Akash is upset because she is giving more importance to her sister than him. Payal tries to say, it was Khushi's birthday, so that she was making some special dishes for her. But Akash is so obstinate that doesn't give her a chance to speak, moreover berates her for being irresponsible for his family. When she tries to say he is also important, he tells her to let it be. Mami who was enjoying her son scolding her innocent bahu, tells akash that she will make lunch for him right now.
Yes mami please do it. All day long, you do nothing rather being nasty to the Gupa sisters and chanting hello hi bye bye.
This whole TRP drama seemed so nonsense!
Arnav is bidding bye from bua and Amma. When he asks Khushi to come along with him, Khushi says he must be going office, so she will come later. But Arnav is not going anywhere, but home. How Khushi can avoid now. So she tells him that she will meet Preeto and will come after that. Bua thinks she should go with Arnav now. But Khushi refutes he even didn't talk to her babuji properly. She tells Arnav to go and she will come soon.
Arnav reluctantly goes out. Before leaving he asks her meekly, is she coming back home?
"Do I have a choice besides going home?" Khushi's annoying cryptic reply makes Arnav rueful. Khushi looks sad, what makes Arnav upset more. She shuts the door in front of his face.
pause: How much I annoyed with Khushi for not appreciating his gift, that much I appreciate Khushi for not going with Arnav. I know she eventually will go to RM. But she really needs some respite from the suffocating environment of Raizada house. But felt bad for my man too. He was looking so pensive!
Arnav tells nani about Khushi's birthday. Nani is astonished how cum she didn't tell her! She also understands the reason; she didn't tell anybody because of the gloomy air of the house. She didn't want her birthday to celebrate lavishly. nani appreciates Arnav for staying back in bua's house for breakfast. She asks him, did he give her any gift? Arnav recalls how Khushi mocked his gift! Nani asks him did he at least wish her? Till now she never saw him give anybody birthday wish. Arnav prevaricates to answer and goes for conference call.

Not conference call but Arnav actually sits with his laptop to arrange a birthday surprise for Khushi. And it didn't go unnoticed by NK. He is excited to see his act? But whose birthday? He checks his phone and finds out it is Khushi's birthday. He gets jovial, but how cum he forgot it. He now teases Arnav, asks him by holding his chin, are he planning a birthday surprise for Khushi? Only Anjali and NK can tease him like that! Arnav looks at him with darting eyes. He avoids him. NK look at his laptop screen, "something dil se"
Arnav asks him to leave him alone. He is already sad because Khushi is upset with him. NK assumes, he must forgot her birthday that's why she is jahbaj to him. He means "angry young girl." Arnav mends him not jabaz but naraz. NK wants to give him some really brilliant idea what can make Khushi's gussa choo choo choo mantar.
Arnav gets irritated to see his body language.
Khushi is still mad that Arnav didn't wish her. She even doesn't want this bag. Amma chides her, Arnav got it for her with so much love.
"pyaar se nahi, paiso se...not lovingly but with money" Khushi disgruntles. Amma thinks Arnav will be happy to see her using the bag. Khushi quips she knows her DM will be lost inside this expensive bag. Amma slaps her on her arm, she is crazy and speaks nonsense. Amma arranges all her stuffs in the bag. Bua comes with a big dabba to put it in her bag. Amma thinks it's getting late, she should go now.
In RM, NK is irritating Arnav by giving him innovative ideas. He told Arnav to call Salman Khan to wish her. Cause he is her favorite kalamkari. Arnav corrects him kalakar, but he doesn't accept his idea. NK suggests him to buy a good gift for her and cut a cake and sings happy birthday.
"is it necessary to give your ideas?" Arnav is annoyed. "Are we kids, who does it! it's cheesy!"
"this love always works on girl, thoda, romance, thoda magic, all the angers cool down." NK becomes ecstatic.
"Oh I see" there is a surprised look on Arnav's face.
"I already brought gift for her." Arnav replies proudly.
Khushi is irritated with Arnav's gift. She thinks who made this bag and who purchased it, both didn't use their brain. It is such a big bag that it seems all the things are swimming inside the bag. She gives idea how a bag should be made.
"What is needed to make a bag. Just take some fabric and stitch it, that's what I also can do."
She is frantic; she didn't want any gift, whatever she wanted was a little wish and the laad governor can't do this also.
Pause: But can't she see the love and intention of laad governor. If he is not too expressive, not too vocal, it shouldn't be any problem. She has every right to be mad at him for uttering those cruel words on the previous night. But she must not be mad at him for inconsequential reason.
Khushi's eyes go to the fresh vegetables on the street. She thinks to buy some and wants to use the big bag properly. Her wish also fulfilled as the vegetable vendor doesn't have any bag to put the vegetables in. so she puts the tomatoes in her bag and later palak, cilantro and all kind of vegetable.
NK is searching surprise plan for Khushi. He found honeymoon deal in Bali. He thinks Arnav needs to go with Khushi. But the deal is for next week. Arnav wants to do something for today. He is still not buying any of NK's idea. NK banters him; if he didn't give him ideas then the two brothers will remain poor bachelor till today. He gave them brilliant ideas on the New Years Eve. Arnav jests him, "because of your idea, Akash adhered with the chair and I had to go to rescue him."
NK adds, if he wouldn't go then how could he deewar Khushi's beautiful face.
Arnav corrects him, not deewar but didaar.
"didar, deewar same thing, now you see you are spending whole life with her."
Arnav gets elated to hear this. He is happy that Khushi came to his life. He recalls the New Years Eve, how she decorated her room with lights. The fairy lights reminds him the day before the diwali night when she got entangled with fairy lights and he had to extricate her
He gets the idea what to do. When Nk also wanted to know he tells him annoyingly, "you or me, who will spend the whole life with Khushi? I'll manage."
Khushi thanks God that the bag is so big that all her vegetables fitted in. she comes back in RM and Arnav opens the door for her. Arnav still tries to wish her. But she gets annoyed to see him stammering,
"Do you want to say anything, haa, haa, haa, hulchul poochna chahte hai?"
Arnav looks go to the bag from where some red stuff is dripping, "what have you done to the bag?'
Khushi is startled, "chipak gaya."
"what chipak gaya"
"tamatar."
"you put tomato inside the bag?"
"Yeah, I used to put, everything inside my old bag or for how many years it supported me. and this bag, hawa tight in one day."
"How much was your old bag?" He asks with gritted teeth.
"poore do sau rupee."
"do sau rupee" Arnav feigns to be surprised.
"Expensive right, I understood by seeing the smile of the shop keeper, that he gonna loot me. It was good If it was 150. How much does it cost you?" Khushi asks the price of the bag what Arnav got for her
Arnav seems enjoying her antics. He answers sarcastically, "yeh to sref do lakh rupe."
"do lakh, apko bhi loot liya."
Khushi is laughing, but when she realizes that it's so expensive, her eyes pop out in bewilderment. She takes a look at the do lakh rupee bag.
"Designer bag." Arnav smiles sardonically.'
'Arnavji bag is for to keep household stuffs, not the whole house. Such an expensive bag! But I like fabric bag.'
"You have a fashion sense. You don't like expensive stuffs." He is smiling derisively now.
'Whatever, my bag wouldn't go bad in one day."
Nani intervenes. She came to wish her birthday. Mami, NK and Payal also came with pooja thali. Khushi thinks Payal told everybody. Nani says not Payal, but chottey told her. She tells her not to worry, they will not celebrate, just do aarti and wish her. Nani tells Arnav to hold her bag. Arnav looks a bit awkward, but doesn't refute. khushi takes nani's blessings by touching her feet. Khushi now takes all the vegetables out from the bag and gives Arnav to hold. Arnav is perplexed, how cum she is making him hold the vegetables? He looks at her with surprise and Khushi with irritation. Poor ASR what kind of thing is doing to appease his loving wife who is now mad at him.
Khushi gets the mithai dabba and feeds the sweets to everybody. Mami refuses to eat, but NK wishes her cordially and so as nani. Khushi asks her about Anjali. Nani says she is sleeping and she thinks not to disturb her. Nani knows Arnav didn't wish her yet, so she tells him to wish her now.
All leaves and Khsuhi wait for Arnav's wish. But poor man can't say a word, just ends in the letter H. Khushi rankles,
"Happyji wished you and your hand is also inside your pocket."
She is mad, takes the bag and vegetables from his hand in anger. Arnav leaves with sad face. Khushi is grumbling,
'he doesn't know how to wish or moreover bought a bag worth 2 lakhs. And I, not less, ruined the bag completely."
When she was about to enter the room, Arnav stops her,
"You can't go inside, I mean can't go now."
'Why?"
"Because I am telling you." He scolds her.
"I'm going to buaji's house."
He holds her hand and stops her, 'I didn't mean to say that."
"Every time you mean something else, do you yourself know what do you mean?
She brushes off his hand and leaves.
"so...rry" He is upset to make her upset again.
NK tells him everything is done. He checked it all.
The door bell rings and Arnav runs to open, because he is expecting something to arrive. Before leaving he tells NK to double check the room.
Before Arnav can open, Anjali opens the door. There is a big rose bouquet came. She becomes delectable to see the bouquet and read the tag. it says,
"Hum aapke chehere par muskurahat wapas dekhna chahta hoon."
Pause: Is the note sounds Shyam type? Arnav doesn't call Khushi aap, he calls her tum. So I just can't blame Anjali to misunderstand. If the note would've written in English, the confusion wouldn't arise.
Anjali recalls Shyam decorated the cradle with rose petals. She assumes Shyam sent it for her.
Arnav comes there and says di.
"dekhona, cjottey, inhone humare liye laal gulab bheje. How beautiful it is!"
Arnav looks at her with compunction, his gaze falters,
"maine mangoya."
"you ordered this?"
Khushi also comes there to hear the door bell.
Arnav wants to say today is Khushis' birthday. but he can't say as Anjali thinks he got this bouquet for her. He hugs him with merriment. Khushi espies the sweet moment standing from a distance and smiles in immense joy to see the sweet moment of bro-sis.
This girl really loves her husband and Arnav is one lucky man to get such a loving, selfless angel in his life.
