He stayed up as long as his tired eyes would allow him to keep them open. Looking at her, he for the first time since joining the law enforcement agency was scared of dying. He didn't want to die. He wanted to live. Not for himself. But for her. He wanted to live for her. Stay Alive for her. He remembered her words "I won't be able live through it, I'd die too"

He didn't want to disappoint her and break the promise. Just thinking how devastated she would be if anything were to happen to him. He made a mental note not to put him self in harms way unnecessarily . He was ready to make changes in his life for her. To see her happy. He was still amazed at how this pint sized little woman has managed to creep into his heart under his skin and taken over his days and nights without even making an effort. Looking at her sleeping snuggled next to him in his sweatshirt with her mouth parted and she took a long breath and when she exhaled she snored a bit. She moos as well. He said gently closing her mouth. And pulled her closer to him. Placed a soft kiss on her forehead. And whispered to her "don't worry you're horny bull ain't going anywhere soon"

As he slowly opened his eyes he saw a set big black eyes looking at him. "Chucky... What you doing here. Now I'm dreaming of her with my eyes wide open. Go figure." He said.

"You too just want to get rid of me. Don't worry I'll be out of your life" saying she grabbed his gun from the holster and put it to her heart and tried to pulled the trigger. He grabbed it from her before she could unlock it. Threw it on to the floor and grabbed her by the shoulders and lifted her up and shook her like a ragged doll. "What's wrong with you? Do you miss your dead husband so much you want to join him" he screamed at her.

His eyes burning with rage and clenched teeth. She closed her eyes. Unable to bare his furious image. She held on to his shirt.

"But don't do it on my watch. I've told this before as well. I don't need this shit. I don't like treats and emotional blackmail"

"Fine. Just take me home. Sorry for all this shit. I don't want to be the stink in your life" she roared back at him. He just put her down and got in the Dodge and waited for her. She took quick steps and sat in the car banged the door shut. Didn't look at him just kept looking straight ahead.

He wanted to say something. But he was still furious with what she tried to do. And he was angry with himself for having a loaded gun. You don't need two loaded guns. He couldn't just stop himself. What if it wasn't looked. And the thought just infuriated him even more. The thought of anything happening to her due to his negligence just made him sick. It shook the very core of his heart. He was trying to be mad at her. But he just couldn't. He loved her way too much for that.

It was still dark outside. Sun trying to peep it's way out of the horizon. He specifically selected the song that was playing the first time they kissed in his car. Nickelbacks If today was your last day. She immediately looked at him and switched off the stereo. He put it back immediately. She looked the other side. Not wanting to start another argument.

His reaction showed him a side that she didn't know existed in him. And it frightened her. But the more she thought about the more she understood his reaction. She felt bad for what she did and the things she said to him. And she knew he was just looking out for her safety. She saw the fear in his eyes of loosing her. Her Heart brimmed with happiness realising the depth of his love. She wanted to hug him and kiss him. But she was too proud for that. But what he said hurt her very much as well. It's not because she misses James but because she doesn't want to live without him. She wanted to spend her life with him.

The words of the song seemed to have a whole new meaning to him. She's given a new meaning to his life. Given him a reason to want to live. The more he thought the more angry he became at her childish act. But it was no child's play. He could've lost her today. He felt she needs to grow up and act her age. But isn't her childlike innocence one of the things that you like and fell in love with. You're trying to change her. Make her the way you want her to be.

They approached her house. It looked all clear and he slowly made it's way towards the gate. He parked under the huge portico and didn't even look at her. She looked towards him. Realising he was still very angry with her she got out and ran towards the door. She kept looking at him hoping he'd spare a glance at her but he didn't.

The whole day she tried to call him but he didn't answer any of her calls. He just disconnected the calls. She sent many text messages. All in vain. She so badly wanted to hear his voice. She wanted to beg for his forgiveness. She can't just walk into the station and see him. But she can right, she can go there with a false pretence and see him. But she was afraid to step outside the house. Only way was to get him to come over here. She was scheming on ways to get him over. She'd need someone's help. Filo was her best ally. After three days she was getting restless and impatient. She wanted to see him and apologise to his face. She wished if only she had that sweatshirt.

She was thinking of him, then she realised just how little she knows about him. She didn't know anything other than his name and his profession and Sandhya.

He missed her even more. He had trouble sleeping without her cozening onto him. It was just one night that they spent together. But that was all that he needed. Now he knows what could be. What he's been missing all these years. He didn't want to miss out any more.

Her warmth seemed to linger within him all the time. Her perfume, the fragrance that resonated from her alluring black curls was enough to make him agonisingly frustrated with want. It took so much out of him to ignore her calls and her messages. Many a time he found himself driving towards her house as if the car was on auto drive mode.

He stopped at the gate and asked the guard if the madam is home, to be formal. He said yes and he was on his way. Nobody seemed to be around. The house looked dead. He didn't like the idea of her staying in this house alone either. He knew that Filo for the past six months has been staying at her sons place. She comes in the morning and leaves in the evening.

He knocked on the door and waited. His heart was beating so fast. He couldn't remember ever being this excited and anxious about anything. She opened the door and he just stepped forward. Grabbed his hand dragged her to her room. Didn't let go of her hand. Opened her wardrobe and pulled out a bag started putting her clothes. Just throwing them inside.

She was speechless. She couldn't fathom what was happening. She just pulled back her hand from his grip and grabbed him by his collar and hugged him. "You're scaring me" she whispered.

"Not as much as you did" reminding her of crazy act.

"I'm sorry. But What are you trying to do"

"You're coming with me"
