Today when I saw Jalal a very different Akbar than I had seen ever (I confess I never saw him in his jallad days so this is new jalal to me) I remembered a song
DIL aisa kisi ne mera toda barbadi ki taraf aisa moda
Ek bhale manush ko amanush banakar choda
Jalal never knew love never knew care never knew humanity till he fell in love with a fiery Jodha
His khan baba and badi ammi always told him take all decisions practically not with Dil
His badi ammi taught him that he had no DIL
That does not mean he had no DIL
The fact that he treated a Dai ma like a mother, he treated a commander in chief khan baba as a father and never crossed the lines his foster father said even when he was against his orders the fact that that he treated his Dai ma's kids be it Adham or Aziz as his own blood brothers and gave them high positions and posts and forgave their misbehaviour and even forgave adham khan's bhagawats and his bro in laws murder attempts meant he had DIL he had a huge DIL but he never accepted it everrr. He also was the only adult male of his family and had no time to show any care, concern, love etc he had to act strong as a brother, son, husband, father and emperor to protect everyone who looked up to him and survived because of him.
Jalla had faced lots of pain and hatred as a child being hostage by his relatives who should have protected him, separated from parents, tied to fort to face bombs, losing father at a small age etc. Such a person could have easily hate humanity and GOd but surprisingly Jalal did not.
Finally came along Jodha who showed him he had a DIL in him that wanted love, care, praise, concern etc to be shown. The DIL less jalal became a romeo or majnu. He started searching for ways to meet his love Jodha, to be near her, he changed became nice to his awam not to please jodha but because he started realizing pain of others just as he started getting concerned for her pain. He did not want his love to have any pain, any hurt, any limits and give her all happiness. He started thinking of awam as his extended family forgave criminals like Khyber and Zakira. He started believing in GOD more and more. He started seeing GOd in every human. Because jodha told him GOD was love and every human had a part of GOD in him/her.
But then came the pain again to scratch the old wounds of his heart. He lost his twins in most cruel way being poisoned by his elder cousin brother whom he had taught of as a well wisher as family member. That brought out his old wounds of losing his other kids to similar circumstances. The person who had started to see God in every human suddenly saw only DEVIL in everyone. He had changed himself so much in LOVE and got back only pain in return so he turned to EVIL and HATRED.
When a person gives love he expects love in return. But when he keeps getting hatred in return he loses belief in love. He starts giving back hatred. Jalal has started giving back the hatred that he got from the world back to it. That is why he wants a war so that he can legitimately kill people and give hatred back to the world he thinks that gave him pain.
It takes a very strong person to still believe in GOD to still believe in goodness to believe in humanity after what Jalal went through in childhood and till now. This is a temporary phase where he has lost faith in humanity and GOD. He shall start believing GOD even more and become more humane again. It just needs a trigger a caring family and friends to get his faith back.
Recently I was watching a channel program on Akbar which said "Shezade Salim ke aane se mayush Akbar ki zindagi main gham ke badal chate, Mughlon ko waris milgaya aur Akbar ki zindagi main kushi ki bahar cha gayi".
And indeed its 2 more years left Akbar's life will turn for better. His faith in GOD will increase indeed never again fade away and happiness will spring up with a new life a new hope.
