Are Indian Idol contestants Chang and Deepali are seeing each other? On Friday, Chang sung a song 'Jise dhundta hoon' from Dil Chahta Hai. After finishing the song, he went and gave a red rose to Deepali, who was blushing. Later on Deepali was seen holding that red rose for a long time. When Deepali's turn came, she sung 'Mera piya ghar aaya' from Yaarana.
When we spoke to Chang, he made light of the incident. "Nothing is cooking between us and we are very good friends that's it. It was part of the performance. I did that because she is my good friend and I knew that she would be comfortable with that. In fact, the four of us - Emon, Puja, Deepali and me are very close to each other. I could not do it with Puja because she is like my younger sister."
How have people reacted to it? "I do not have a number over here, so I am not receiving any calls but Deepali's relatives are calling her to find out about this whole incident and we just laughed it off. Just now, I spoke to my mum and she did not even mention about it. My family is very cool about it. They know that I am here to perform and not do anything else."
"Even Deepali's family is very supportive. Yesterday we were sitting with them. They were chilled out and told me that people would start asking questions about this. However, you don't bother about it and concentrate on your performance."
Deepali is from Patna, Bihar and Chang from Dhanbad, Jharkhand is a dentist by profession. Chang has never taken any kind of formal training in singing. On the other hand, Deepali is a trained classical singer and also loves acting and dancing.
In the previous episode, the judges were not very happy with Chang's performance while Deepali got compliments from all the judges.
