PART 21[RK'S POV]
We stood their in the porch of the Airport. She tightly pulled me into a hug. Her hug had warmth and emotions. I stood their numb for a moment, not realising how to reciprocate. I could feel her breath brushing my neck as she tugged her face in. "How could she possibly do this?", I thought. My hands had wandered their way up and rested on her back. I wanted to ask her, "How do you do this, Madhu. How can you be so cool with everything. We effing got married. She is taking this so lightly. She is cool with everything. Here I stand dumb, not sure what move should I take next". Will came in and we broke our hug. I asked Will to make sure Steven took good care of her. She clearly didn't look happy with all this. I know my security arrangements were hideous according to her. But I cannot help it. I just need to make sure she stayed away from all danger this business world gets you in. I turned around and proceeded inside.

A sudden urge to turn back and wave her led me as I turned around directed by my thoughts. She was moving here and there... probably waiting for me to turn around. As soon as she saw me, she smiled and waved. My lips automatically curved into a smile and my hand moved up in sync waving back to her. Everything was being controlled by something which wasn't clearly under my control. "Sir!", Will called out. I turned and put on my glares. He told me that they were taxi-ing my jet. We proceeded to the security check. My car was ready at the door and it ferried me to my jet. As soon as I climbed up the stairs, my head turned around in the backward direction. There was no one. How could there be, she must have reached home by now. It felt as if I would turn back and see her waving to me. I sighed and proceeded inside.

We took off on time and my staff relaxed on their seats. I pulled off my coat, loosened my tie and pressed back closing my eyes. I was succumbed by slumber in no time.

"He was the one. Precisely, Sir.", Anjali screeched from the other side of the witness box across the Court. I could see every eye on me. My mother, she cried monotonously while Virat Bhaiyya comforted her. I stood their in the box, numb. "Do you have anything to say!", the prosecution lawyer taunted at me. I mumbled something which wasn't audible to anyone. "My lord, I would like to present to you one last witness. But we need time to summon her.", my defence lawyer made his one last move. I looked at her, she looked me into the eyes and gave me a very endearing look. "The Court shall pass its judgement in the next hearing." And the court was adjourned. Two policement handcuffed me and dragged me out as if I was a dog. My lawyer matched my pace and said, "I have one last option." I sat into the Policevan. She nodded. I was dumbstruck and dropped my head on my lap.

Later that evening, she came in the meet me in my cell. "We can summon Ms Madhubala Mallick. She lives in Brisbane and she can buy us time."

"We have discussed. We are not pulling her into this swamp. Do you get me Ms Iyer."

"RK. She is our only hope."

"So what! You know what? She doesn't deserve to be pulled into all this. She is happy and working. And FYI, I lost her contacts."

"We can ask her dad. Remember, they dropped in to offer help when the first hearing happened."

"No. I beg you Ms Iyer. We are not involving any innocent soul in this. DO YOU GET ME."

"Rishu!", my mother came in the cell. Her eyes were in shock. Yes I was a mess but this look was something I didn't recognize. "Maa...", I moaned. Since the charge wasn't proved. I was allowed to meet anyone from my family. "I do not recognize my son.", she sobbed. I sighed. "Maa...", I rested my head on her lap. "You've changed. Beta. And this is all because of the fact that I asked you to marry that filthy girl. I am so sorry Rishu!", she started crying. I hugged her tightly drinking back my own anger.

I flew my eyes open. It was the middle of the night. The lights were dim and my staff were asleep. I felt my forehead. I was sweating profusely. This dreadful dream returned to me after days. The last time I saw this dream was before I met Madhu. I thought I was moving on but this? "Why again.", I mumbled holding my head. I had been having these dreams for 6 years when they suddenly stopped a few days back. I pressed back on the seat and looked at the roof of the plane. Pulling up a soft blanket, I closed my eyes.

"Any last witnesses, Defense Lawyer Ms Iyer?", the Judge asked. I stood there in the box, hopeless.

"My lord, the witness we intended to summon could not make it here. But, we have a small video recording which might prove something.", Ms Iyer smiled devilishly.

The tape played. It was a small dockyard. I could identify Anjali and my Business Rival Sahil Roy. There was one more guy, with his back to the recording. I could identify his nuances but wasnt able to come to the conclusion. This guy handed over a CD to Sahil and spoke, "Sahil Roy! This is the disc which has all the account details of the Kundras.". I was stunned to recognize the voice. "Rihan", I whispered rather loudly. I flew my eyes to the audience and saw Rihan getting uncomfortable. I turned back to the recording and after a few seconds, the guy turned himself around. My doubts were clear as I saw Rihan accepting a bag of money.

"My lord, as you can see. Anjali and Sahil paid Rihan to get them details about Kundras. With this, I would like to request you to reopen the case because I think there is something more to this. We will be obliged if you let us continue the case and investigations." The judge gave us a green signal after closely studying the tape. The court was adjourned. The constables were easier and they let me speak to Rihan.

"You?", I blurted words out of my mouth. "Sorry buddy. Money speaks", he rolled his eyes. I closed my eyes and our moments flashed in my mind. "You were my friend.", I growled. "They paid me, buddy!", he smirked and walked away with pride. The constables took me away.

"Rihan.", I murmured and got up. I was fuming. I looked around. No one was watching. Will was asleep too. I stood up and wiped off my sweat. In the washroom, I wiped my face with face wipes. Back on my seat, I drank water and opened the windows. The sky stood still. Clouds lay below us. They covered the earth like bundles of cotton. The moon shined in the clear visible sky lit with twinkling stars. I went to the seat adjacent to the window and peered out. I was panting. Those awful memories were haunting me. Rihan, my best friend. My college mate. I trusted him the most. I clenched the hand-rest tightly. In disgust. "How could you.", I thought. He was clearly a thing of my past yet somewhere in my deep sub-conscious, I had not been able to accept Rihan's betrayal. We were born and brought up together. Rihan was an orphan. His education was sponsored by my father and so we grew up tied to each other. Our schooling and then College. And then finally dad appointed him as my secretary and advisor. I gulpe the lump down my throat and tried to close my eyes hoping the dreams would not haunt me.

"Men like you are a disgrace.", the Inspector yelled at me. I could see his blurred visions. He was yelling at me. He had a whip rolled in his hands. "Disgracing women is the most heinous crime one can do.", he yelled and lashed his whip at me. I twitched feeling the jerk. "Sir.", I spoke. "I haven't been proved guilty yet." He stared at me with bloodshot eyes, "And do you think the sentence would make a difference? We all know what the judgement would be. Men like you must be castrated on open roads.", he lashed out his whips again.

On the last whip, I threw open my eyes. What was happening. I felt my pockets and took out my purse. They must have had those sleeping pills. As I groped inside, I touched a photograph. I pulled it out. It was a family photograph. Me, Maa, Bhai Bhabhi and Madhu- taken post our marriage. I moved my fingers on her photo. A smile crept my face. I kept gazing her. As if she was smiling to me. An hour or two went by, I kept looking at her photograph and didnt realise when I dozed off.

"Sir!", Will shook me up. I woke up. It was a bright sunny morning outside and we were on land. "Are you ok Sir?", Will asked. I felt the photograph in my hand. It was placed close to my body. "Yes. Are we there?", I inquired. "Yes Sir.", Will nodded and showed me the way. I got up and cleaned my dress and moved out. Will followed me.

An SUV was parked waiting for me. We sat in and it took us to our hotel. I checked my phone. It showed no sim. "Will? Did you get the international sim activated?"

"Yes Sir. I did"

"I cannot see the network. Just look into it."

We checked in our hotel and I logged in through the Hotel WiFi. Crap. It was damn slow. I must email Madhu as soon as possible.
