hello everyone, 😊 we all knew that our sahir-e-azam shares a very special bond with moon but in that deleted scene when he tells us the sad story of the divine moon in the beautiful of words of Parveen Shakir, I can't help but think that in the covers of moon somewhere he was telling the story of his life to moon..although moon witnessed everything he went through...it was there when sahir was trampled by darkness to conquer his soothing light..just like the moon..and moon will be there when sahir will slowly come out of darkness to shine again like the most beautiful creation of nature...the darknesss can swallow moon's light, it's calmness...that night may be a long one...it may look like that the moon, is frozen in the pit of darknesss but it is meant to rise above it and shine..complete it's journey ...people say that moon survives on borrowed light of sun...true but the same moon is capable of consuming sun's fire and giving the world it's soothing moonlight...moon represents strength...it says that beauty is not meant to be fragile...it may appear to be one but it can go through the destructive fire and aimless darkness and yet is very much capable of striking back...😊
what I have decoded so far is that, sahir represents moon...swallowed by darkness...thrown so deep in it's well that he has accepted it as his destiny...it is a very LONG night...but if winter is here spring can't be far behind...even though the moon himself is clueless about it but it's time to say goodbye to that ugly night and embrace his divinity again...so we can consider the poetry as the last drop of his blood into the mouth of demons of hollowness...
Hijr ki shab aur aisa chaand
Poora dukh aur aadhaa chaand
hijr means judai...may be sahir wanted to refer to a very dear one he lost...how that separation destroyed him... he was consumed by his sorrow to that extent where he himself became just a leftover and the pain became his actual personality... 😭
Din mein vehshat bebel gayi thi
Raat hui aur nikla chaand
in spite of being the shark, sahir is a victim of outside world..whatever is left of him under the exterior of shark , this vicious world feeds on it everyday like a parasite...but his companion moon everyday shares his loneliness, although it is of no help but still...😭
Itne ghane baadal ke peechhe
Kitna tanhaa hoga chaand
the story of sahir's life...a man whom everybody envies for his wealth, power and his capacity of giving it on the face of those emotions who dares to mess with him but only his soul knows how wounded it is behind that beautiful cloak that screams power 😭
Sehra sehra bhatak raha hai
Apne ishq mein sachcha chaand
the only mistake sahir made was love...he loved with all his heart and soul..to the point of self destruction and beyond it...but somewhere within he still treasures that heart, which is a vessel of pure love 😭
Raat ke shaayad ek baje hain
Sota hoga mera chaand.
moon represents many things and one of them is hope...here comes the question...does sahir still hopes that somewhere in the world "his" chand is alive and sleeping peacefully...is he waiting for it..and my be "his chand" is his one "desire" his one Arzoo which is untold..and sahir himself is unaware of it's existence but it is breathing somewhere inside his bleeding heart 😭
Sahir and Arzoo they both are like two faces or two phases of moon...one represents it's journey though darkness and one represents the pain one feels at the mere touch of it...one took the darkness and submerged himself into it and another fights it with all her strength and refuse to give in...sahir represents the pained but stubborn desire to fall and arzoo represents the innocent wish to rise again...
😊
