But I am now wondering if real Ruqaiah was even half as possessive as reel Ruqaiah, Jehangir and Jodha would have tough times. Because Jehangir is step son and Jodha daughter in law and in 16th century kids rarely dared argue forget shout at parents even step mothers.

Those days the sanskaar was different and like reel Akbar is arguing with reel Ruqaiah I doubt Jehangir could go and argue and take away khurram if she would not allow him and Jodha near the baby or get possessive and restrict them. Neither can he go and complain to Akbar because I mean how can a son complain to father about his step mom. People will speak badly about him if he does that saying because she is step mom he is saying that etc own mom would have no issues.

After seeing all this all I can feel is parents must think a lakh times before giving their kids to others for upbringing. I know parents usually do it because they do not have financial stability etc so give their kids to others for upbringing(especially relatives). I know of a few who were given to others because the couple did not have kids but the amount of possessiveness I saw in reel Ruqaiah I have not seen in those adoptive parents or real parents.

But I guess if wealth and power is involved it changes way people behave and the reel Ruqaiah kind of character shall come to fore. And also the culture in past it did not matter to parents whether kids are theirs or their brothers or sisters all were treated equally especially if you live in joint families. But now because of nuclear family parents act so possessive of their kids that they avoid even grandparents spending more time with them lest kids become close to them.
