all the students assembled in the auditorium. Principal entered the stage, there ws utter silence.
" good evening students. As you all know every year we have "best college" competiton , this year also we have the competition. And this year Xaveir's is hosting it..!! (smile)" all the students get over-joyed listening this ..as now there wud be free classes, practices, bunks etc...!! and the principles continued ...
" remember...we have lot to do. As we are hosting it this year (thundering claps)...we have to manage each and every step of it. we have dance, drama, singing, quiz, ramp shows, and many more categories. They have been pinned up in notice board do have a look...and consult the respective teachers associated with it. And the volunteers of all categories you have meeting in my chamber right after this ...so plss be assembled." Principle continued giving instructions and virat ws not even interested wht ws going around...!!

Next day ...
Maanvi kept on ignoring virat as much as possible. But virat ws not the one to give up so easily ...!! He tried every possible excuse to come near her...but she kept ignoring him with every idea possible..!! Mujhko Teri Kasam (maanvi goes to the canteen and orders a cold drink...virat quickly cancels it...and orders a hot coffee ...they share a eye lock)
Taang Du Chand Ko, Teri Khidki Mein Mai (maanvi was walking the corridor and she dashes virat...she takes a step back to turn away from there...but she trips )
Taak Du Jaan Ko Teri Kurti Mein Mai (virat quickly takes hold of her hand and pulls her back, that she dashes him again...they share a long eye lock! their eyes reflecting like mirror, whatever they held back in their soul)
Arey Jo Bhi Main Kahun (maanvi breaks the eyelock ...virat loosens the grip on her hand)

The team members were sitting in canteen mimicking the face of devdas (maanvi wasn't there) all wer having blank faces and they were glancing each other. Virat had a sulken face as if he would cry any moment.

V : ...saare bahaane try kiye! but maanvi woh toh durr bhaag rahi hai mujhse ..ab mai kya karu ??

Aj : (hitting him) aur kar drama... payal ka naam lekar..!!

V : areyy tum mere par kyu bhadak rahi ho ? jeet ka idea tha woh ...!! (jeet shocked ...anjali angry)

Jt : thappad khayega..!!! mere idea tha ?? nahi anji mera idea nai tha..don't believe him !

V : hatt...dost ke liye ek jhut nai bol sakta ?? (irked) anjali again starts hitting him, and esha shoutsss

E : ideaaa !!!

After college the team assembled in rehearsal hall for discussing about their dance performances. All were sitting and waitng for Jeet and Cheryl to enter, but virat ws staring maanvi, and maanvi was not ready to put even a penny on virat. Jeet and Cheryl enter...

Jt : so guyz ..got the list..!! hmm bahut mehnat karni padegi !!! we have less than a month and have more than 6 events to participate in..!! (all wer shocked...)

M : hainn?? Mai kaisey pick up karungi?? mujhe toh saare styles sikhne mai bahut time lag jayega..!!

V : chill nia..! ho jayega ..!

M : hmm (ignoring further convo)

Jt : ok so.. as usual 4 stages to cross. ...St.Peter's , Clarets, Vihans and Xaviers jo hamara college hai. jaha finals hongey ..!! so ..Dance mai 3 categories hai ... group,duet, and solo.. as usual !! so let's start ...

Aj : hmmm ..group ke liye as usual partners ??!! matlab Jeet and Cheryl, Dev and Maanvi, Esha and Rahul, Me and Virat..!! right ??

E : (winks to virat and it ws the time to apply the plan...) areey nahi yaar ..iss baar nahi ..same partners ke saath dance kar karke pak chuke hai hum sab..!! let's change the partners..!!

Dv : yeah she is ryt I think, last year bhi same pairs the. Let's change them.

All agreed to this and everything ws going according to the plan ...

Ch : then I want to dance with rahul..!! (excited)

Aj : ok done...then mai jeet ke saath karungi (seeing him)

E : aur mai dev ke saath ..(catching his arm)

R : then bacha kon ...??

V : (getting up from the couch) mai aur maanvi..!!

Maanvi shocked...and their plan rocked !!

M : nahiii ...mai virat ke saath dance nai karungi .!!

Aj : kyuu ? (pouting)

Maanvi tries to think for the correct answer and after 3-4 secs...

M :..hei...hei...height..!! haa..height ...hamari height match nahi hoti ...he is soo tall ...toh aisey kaisey dance kar sakte hai?? Let's change the partners...chalo.. (fumbling with words)

E : oyeee ..hamari height bhi match nahi hoti ..it's ok yaar chalta hai ..!tu koi inni bhi short nahi hai...hardly 4 inches ! aur dekh agar tu virat ke saath dance nai karegi toh ...hum mai se kisi ek ko partner badalna padega! and we all want to dance with our real partners (glancing dev)! so plz... tujhe virat ke saath dance karna padega ..mujhe kuch nai pata..!! (pouting)

And maanvi being a angel from inside melted listening Esha's words.!! She didn't want to change the other partners just cz she didn't want to dance with virat..!! She agreed to dance with virat in group dance event!!
The discussion continued with deciding solo events in each college..!! after that...

Dv : hmm interesting solo is done...ab duet ka kya hai ..jaldi bolo..!!

R : nothing much, wohi group dance ke partners ke saath, duet karenge at a particular college!!

Ch : hmm nice idea...i agree with it...rahul ke saath dance karne ka chance mai kaisey chod du ??

M : nahi! Not a nice idea (maanvi pounced in btwn) duet ke liye toh hamey partners change karne chahiye na..!! (pleading look ...as she didn't want to do a duet with virat)

Aj : maanvi ...you want me to throw the same bhashaan which Esha threw at you some mins back??

M : arrey par..aisey kaisey??

Jt : problem kya hai ?? virat tumhe khaa nahi jayega... all giggle

M : ok fine... (irked) looking at virat with a frown, and he looking at her lovingly.

And all show a thumps up to each other..!!

R : time kam hai aur dance practice ka waqt bahut kam..!!

Jt : we gotta start from 2mmrw itself..!

E : ryt...aur day and night practice karni padegi! Agar college hall available nahi hai toh we will book the Atnity dance zone...fine ?? (all nod their heads)

Maanvi for the first time was noticing the seriousness on their faces. The guys who used to always joke around were now serious. Today, in real sense she got to know, how passionate they were for Dance!! Among all these, she had a new and a strange kind of excitement building up to work with them. She knew that this team is gonna rock all the way!! I mean who cudn't figure it out that the effort they were putting in would result in a great success!

Ch : haaa ...last year ki tarah nahi hona chahiye

V : (anger) last year ki tarah kuch nai hoga...just one year ke liye title chin gaya tha ...this year we are gonna bring it back to our college! and it's better tht we dn't think negative!!

Aj : you are absolutely right Captain!! bas uss ek insaan ki galti ki wajah se sab kuch bigad gaya.

Dv : forget it anji..that's gone long back!

Aj : hmm...lekin itna sab bhoolna asaan nahi hai.

E : this is our last year in college guyz...and jaatey jaatey college ko Best College ka title deke hi jayengey..!!

All : ryt..!!

All come close to have a big group hug...Virat purposely stands near maanvi so that they could side hug. Maanvi noticed his action and glared him. Virat smiled at her and maanvi couldn't even do anything. And they all have a BIG nice group hug.

They leave to the parking after their disscussion.

M : aacha ..anji ...last year kya hua tha ?? matlab tum sab baat kar rahe the.. (confused) mujhe kuch samaj nahi aaya...

Aj : woh actually last year maanvi ...we lost the competition very badly!! Our college from years is winning this title, even before we joined this college, almost from 6-7 years I guess. Xavier's ki har category ki team sabse best hoti hai. College mai hamara first year tha...hamari dancing team bani thi tabhi, and tht year we won the competition, but last year, jab hum second year mai the...we lost the competition very badly. Just cz of one fool. Last year dance category mai college dancing team ne participate nahi kia tha...normal students ne participate kia tha...matlab those who are fond of dancing. They wer nt trained, aur dance category mai humne ek bhi prize nahi jeeta and oviously saare colleges ne apne best foot rakhe the!! And this affected overall results ...so we lost last year! Uss gadhe ke wajaah se..!! Usne team ko nahi bheja. Tum soch rahi hogi for equal participation but no...just cz woh virat ko usske aagey jaatey nahi dekhna chahta tha..!! uhhh bahut lambi kahaani hai maanvi ...ek din mai nahi bata sakti ...tumhari liye filhaal itna hi kaafi hai .. (smile) chal bye aa gyi teri scooty .. !

M : haaa ..chal byee... (smile) kal se practice hai na ?? so an extra pair of clothes ??

Aj : yupp ..do bring them...you will need it ..and waisey bhi tu kaafii hot dikhti hai usme..!!

M : anjiii ..helmet utha ke maarungi ..!! bhaaag chall ..!!

Aj : (laughing) chal byee...

Maanvi reaches home with a dull face and she finds Lia already waiting for her..

M : areyy lia sorry yaar...woh college mai meeting tha...so late ho gaya..!!

L : it's ok di..!! waisey bhi mai bas 10 min pehele aayi.

M : hmm chal upar..

L : but di ...aap aisey kyu bol rahe ho ? bhai toh is sooo swweeet (dreamily) agar mai aapke jagah hoti na ...toh ek jhatke mai haa bol deti ..!! I swear aapko haa bolna chaiye...!!

M : lia tu samaj nai rahi hai. Virat mere saath kabhi khush nahi reh sakta! Woh agar mere saath rahega toh ussey bass dard milega uske alawa kuch nahi...nothing else but pain! Woh kisi aur ke saath jyada khush reh paayega.Mai uski zindagi mai bass andhera laa sakti hu aur kuch nai. I have to find a way jissey virat mujhse durr chala jaaye. Virat din bhar koshish karta rehta hai ki woh mere paas aa sakey par ab aur nahi. Aur ab toh mujhse uske saath dance bhi karna hai...no I can't do this!! It's very difficult lia. Mai virat ko jaanti hu ..woh aisa kabhi honey nahi dega... ki mai ussey apne aap se alag karu! it's very difficult for me...I just wish mai give up na kardu uske saamne!

L : di aap aisa kyu karna chahtey ho ?? (sulking)

M : karna padega lia (tears) mere paas aur dusra raasta nahi hai...tu jaanti hai mere saath kya ho sakta hai. Im very near to asthama and once it's asthama...koi kuch nai kar sakta. Mai dance bhi karti hu ...iske waajah se meri tabiyat aur kharab ho sakti hai ...u knw everything na lia..!!

L : toh di ...dance se backout karlo ..!! aapki health iske waajah se aur kharaab ho jayegi ...aapko dance nahi karna chahiye!!

M : no lia...bilkul nahi ...dance se backout ..?? never...team ne itni mushkil se auditions karke...mujhe select kia hai ..and then jiss aspiration se woh log yeh title jitna chahtey hai na...I can't back out...!! I can't sweep away the dreams apna khyaal rakhne ke liye!! I can't ditch them at the last moment ...

L : par di ..

M : nahi lia...medication hai ..!! I promise mai apna bahut khyaal rakhungi ..inhaler ..davaai sab time pe lungi ...but I can't ditch them at this point..kal se practice bhi shuru ho jayegi ..!

L : hmm (sulken face )

M : tu kyu ..udaas ho rahi hai ?? chal bandh kar apni nautanki..yaha par meri life ki discussion ho rahi hai teri nai ..!! aur itna udaas hone ki koi jarurat nahi hai ..!!

L : di aap thik nahi kar rahe ho ..!! (tears)

M : I knw.. (tears) par Zindagi hamesha jaisey hamey chahiye waisey toh nahi chal sakti na lia...karna padta hai. Kaabhi kabhi dusre ke khushi ke liye ..apni khushi ka murder karna padta hai ...aur yeh bas mai uske chehre par smile dekhne ke liye kar rahi hu ..woh mere saath rahega ..bas aansu milenge ussey ...

L : toh aap kya karoge ?? (confused) M : kuch socha hai maine...
