Ranveer's 6-Pack Look Would Have To Go For Bajirao

It's not just his hair that's going for his role in Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh will also have to let go of his precious 6 pack physique too look like an 18th century Maratha warrior.

Says a source close to the project, "As Bajirao, Ranveer would have to go bare-chested in many scenes. And it would be a full physical deconstruction for Ranveer. This is a film and character set in the 18th century when there were no gym-built bodies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali can't have a Maratha king with 6 packs."

One would recall that Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar played Emperor Akbar and athlete Milkha Singh with their gym-trained 6-pack bodies, a cinematic liberty that did not go unnoticed by critics.

SLB won't take any risks with facts and history. "He isn't asking Ranveer to go flabby. Bajirao was a king and a warrior. He has to look physically fit, but not in a physically trained manner. He would have to lose his hair and his 6-pack look."

Subhash Jha indirectly taking a dig at Ashutosh Gowariker & Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra 😆 SLB is the one director who takes maximum cinematic liberty cos he makes everything over-dramatic & annoying 😆 That said, am glad Gowariker took cinematic liberty cos HR looked his best in JA..That sword practice scene for instance- the best a Hindi film lead has looked in recent times.. #Shallow 😆

But Akbar from all assumptions was a chubby guy! HR looked dishy in JA but I guess a lot of things were incorrect historically with that movie, so I don't mind.

Now I expect Peshwas to be skinny guys. And hopefully if RS looses his 6 or 8 packs or whatever, SLB will not have much body to obsess on.😆 Ofcourse SLB will make sure that the peshwas had a opulent nawabi lifesyle so that he can justify the extravagant sets & costumes!

Oh i know..The film is as far from history as it can get 😆 Yet i loved it thanks to their chemistry..And of course, HR made Akbar look gorgeous 😆

On the other hand he is right. You have to have authenticity. Many actors put on and lose weight/muscle mass often. As long as Ranveer is comfortable with it.
