love is blind cos it doesnt see the short-comings of the other person, deaf cos it doesnt pay heed to advice and caution, dumb cos its too idealistic....

@ sareg - flippantly, ghadha might have more uses than Arnold 😉 but going back to your post - I say - Lust is truly blind to everything but looks. Your example in fact reiterates what I stated, not contradicted it. Lust knows only looks and therefore you do not find someone lusting after a tun tun or Mahmood... but Love is not blind, someone has seen them and yet choose to love these guys, at least mahmood did...

Second what MQT said, it would also depend upon the level of maturity and understanding in the person at that point in time. When harmones are raging, lust is often mistaken as love.... and is that why Love is often called Blind.

@ sohn, lovely post.. When love overweighs all other parameters, including negative, to build a life together, its a concious choice.... to an outsider, the negatives may appear to be flaws, but to the person in the relationship, it is just another facet of the persons personality....

I think love is blind when people tend to overlook certain visible or evident unacceptable traits in an individual and still choose to be with them. Buh its this same blind love, which sometimes shows the strength and understanding and overlooks few acceptable mistakes of the other person and accepts him/her the way s/he is as well. So kinda difficult to say 😕

Well said... If one can come out of lust and still see/accept the person lovingly , then it is not blind Imo... Initial attraction is mostly lust then love.

Some people fall blindly in love....can not see anything else apart from their lover 😉 😆

But i think mostly if you are aware of everything that you affects other people other than yourself, e.g parents then Love is not blind.

You can be fully in love with someone but also be aware of concequences, your surrounding, and everything else in between.

I don't think Love is Blind, people just may be blind in One's Love that they can not see anything else. 😳

I think its mostly people who are on the outside who think that lovers are blind to each others faults....most people are well aware of their loved ones defects but are fiercely protective of their lover and try to cover up and pretend that the object of their affections is perfect. So others might think that he or she is not aware of or blind to the faults of his or her loved one.
