Durga's wedding didn't look like a Bengali wedding. Even her costume for the wedding didn't appear Bengali. Sanjeeda looked gorgeous though!!! I think the CVs have forgotten that the story is in Kolkatta...

It was North Indian.
Not at all Bengali.

Neither clothes, nor setting, style or traditional headwear/makeup.

And to think makers and actors had earlier claimed to have done lot of research, made it realistic, learnt Bengali language etc.😆

Makers forgot many things the show was supposed to be about earlier.🥱

All bengaliness of the show disappeared after the first 20episodes or so..after tht it was only pretend-Kolkata.. actors dnt use bengali language, there is not even a speck of bengali attire/accent or monuments..the wedding had nil bengali culture in it. No shakha-pola, no mukut, not even the sindoor rasam..

No it wasn't a Bengali wedding but I think they are following the traditions of the groom's family. The story is in Kolkata but all the characters aren't Bengali. Only Thakurs are Bengali. Goenka are probably Rajasthani.
So, it was not really a blooper.

If you want to point the blooper then in any Hindu marriage the bride comes later. Groom is suppose to sit first and start the rituals.

may be Sakshi is also a Bengali by birth but Goenka is definitely not a Bengali surname.
