SRK BELIEVES IN GENDER EQUALITY
Shah Rukh Khan feels that actresses who debuted with him got a good platform because his films aren't male-oriented

Shah Rukh Khan has been responsible for launching several names. Two such actresses, who, today, are stars in their own right, are Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma. While Deepika made her debut with Shah Rukh's Om Shanti Om in 2007, Anushka starred opposite him in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). Talking about how far they've come since then, Shah Rukh says, "When I worked with Anushka, it was stunning to see someone so new and so confident, especially in that role. Deepika " I'm made to understand " was a supermodel even before [she made her film debut]. She had already done a lot of work, for which she was very famous."

The Bollywood star points out that the actresses, who have starred in his films, also get a good platform as his movies don't tend to focus on the actor alone. "Most of my films, I like to believe, have an equality of roles for the ladies. My films are never very male-oriented. Maybe Karan Arjun (1995) was like that, where the ladies just came in and did a song or added a romantic angle. I haven't done too many such films," he says.

Ask him if he's seen any change in Anushka and Deepika over the years and he beams with pride. "No, they're fantastic. [They have] been fantastic since they started. And if there's a word like that, they've become fantasticer' as the years have gone by and I wish them the best (sic). It's nice to work with them again when they, as artistes, are so much more evolved. I like to believe that they hold a special place for me in their hearts," he says.

Shah Rukh also hopes to work with the two of them more often. He adds, "After a long time, I worked with Deepika in Chennai Express (2013), and now, I have Farah Khan's (upcoming) film with her. I hadn't worked with Anushka for a long time either, and then I did Jab Tak Hain Jaan (2012). So there have been long gaps. Hopefully, I'll get to work with them more. But they're really exactly the same, or better."

This is one thing I do appreciate of SRK.There has hardly been a film where his heroine had just two-three dance numbers. I think SRK is more insecure about losing his position to the other two Khans than an actress/co actor stealing limelight from the same film.

Majority of his heroines share a good amount of screen space with him and an equally important role .
