John for Prince of Persia!

John Abraham's website has been seeing some incredible action over the last few months. Not only has www.johnabraham.com been getting nearly seven million hits per month but one ardent fan has also been pitching for the actor to take up a big screen Hollywood adaptation of a popular video game.

A few months back, UK-based fan Venetia Sarll posted sketches of the actor posing as the Prince of Persia (remember the video game?). Sujoy Mukherjee, who is the webmaster of the site, reveals that Venetia has been rallying for John to bag a role in Micheal Bay's adaptation of the game.

It's a draw

Says Sujoy, "Venetia is one of John's biggest fans. She has even met him when he was in UK. She was quite excited about starting an online campaign to get John to act in the Prince of Persia movie."

John, who is very impressed with Venetia's interpretation of him as the action hero, says, "Venetia is the most dedicated member of my site. I just loved the sketches she has made. In fact, there was even an online poll on a fansite and her sketches topped the list."

Talking about John's website, Sujoy says, "If you do a Google search for John, you will get around 1,750 pages sources from various fansites. This is the maximum number of pages devoted to any actor. Also, he has people logging in from the remotest parts of the world.

We have a registered fan from the Reunion Islands (near Mauritius in the Indian Ocean) and she even posted a map to show us where she was from!"

John adds that he checks his site on a daily basis wherever he is. "I treat the fans who visit my site as family. I am on the site every day."

What is Prince of Persia? For those not familiar with the game, Prince of Persia follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. It's set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom. It received numerous Game of the Year awards and has become a best-selling title.
