HAPPY BIRTHDAY KITTU!

Today is my Bestie's birthday (you might know her as Chavvi16) and before I give my gifts to her and allow you guys to wish her I want to say some words about Kittu! So bring out your popcorns and get ready for some Kalpana's bak bak!

I met Kittu while writing DFL! She is my God's Gift! I call her that because that is what she is to me. Around the first month of DFL, I did not get much response and one late night feeling a bit depressed, I prayed to God and told him that if he wants me to continue writing then I want a signal! I asked him to give me a new review! Around that time, all my usual reviewers had reviewed! Plus, I wrote barely few chapters so new people trying my work was very rare! So in a way, it was almost impossible for me to have a new review! So I went to sleep and woke up next morning with trepidation! Will I get to continue writing or does God not want me to walk that road? I checked the thread through my mobile and there it was! A review from Chavvi16! And I took her review as God's signal and continued to write.

That is how she became my God's Gift! In a way all the stories I was able to give you was all thanks to her one decision to read my work!

Soon Kittu became my favorite reviewer with her long reviews! If I ever thought I was a bad writer one glance at her review made me want to keep on writing even if my writing was not good! This year she became my chat partner along with Dona Di (goldenmoon) and I have to say I never went to sleep without a smile on my face.

One thing I love about her is her cheerfulness and her frank answers. She never minces her words and her honesty gives you a fresh outlook. And of course her cheeky replies brightens my day. So today I am not here to celebrate just my Bestie's birthday but also the birthday of the cheerleader to my works, the light at the end of my tiresome day and one of the most awesome person I have ever met in my whole life!

Thank you Bestie for being there for me and standing by my side!

Happy Birthday Dear!

This is my first attempt to write birthday thread so I did not know what to do! So I thought why not give Kittu the thing which made us friends; my stories! So here is a story for my Bestie, Kittu!

Kittu woke up early morning with a smile on her face. It was her birthday! She squealed in excitement and got out of her bed only to shriek in shock. Surrounding her all around were flowers of all kind in small pots. She saw various colors of roses. Then there were Petunias, Chrysanthemums, daffodils, orchids, jasmine, lily and various others she did not know the name of. One particular flower had a card with her name written on it. She frowned and opened the card. There it was written,

"Hey Kittu! Apne itne mahino ki dosti and I still don't know your favorite flower. Or maybe you told me and I as usual forgot! So I got you all types of flowers here! Smell them and enjoy them! And how did they get there? Simple! This is a story aur story mein toh kuch bhi possible hai, right?

Kittu smiled happily and walked out of her room. She decided to thank Kalpana once she had her breakfast. She walked few steps down the stairs and then stopped in shock. What the! In front of her, every surface in the living room was filled with boxes of chocolates. She gulped. Itne chocolates! Hey Babaji! Hey Devi Maiyya! She trudged forward and checked the boxes. All the chocolates were of different variety. There was fruit & nut, almond & cashews! There was even raisin filled ones. And some of the chocolates were in different shapes too. There was even... Was that? No... She walked up and picked the box. Yup! It was liqueur chocolate! She shook her head in shock and pulled up the note attached to it.

"Hey Chhavi! Happy Birthday! I don't know your favorite chocolates so got all of them for you. Choose the one you like and enjoy!

P.S. Oh and if you don't know how the chocolates got in, they came the same way the flowers came in!"

Kittu chuckled and shook her head. Her friends have gone crazy! She mused. She walked towards the kitchen only to stop in shock again. Oh no! Not more gifts. She walked ahead and picked out two boxes in colorful wrappers. What are they doing here? She opened one to find a pink and blue Saree. Her eyes widened. Saree? Hey Devi Maiyya! She opened the card alongside the Saree.

" Hey Kittu. Didn't you once say that you wanted a pink and blue saree? So I got you one!

Now I know you find wearing Saree tiresome so check out the other package and keep this Saree for some other special occasion!

Now Kittu was beyond shocked. Lagta hai mere friends sach mein paagal hogaye hain! She picked up the other box and opened it to see a beautiful dress in lavender color. It was knee length and simple allover but had intricate design around the neck line. Kittu grinned eagerly and pulled up the note with it.

"Your favorite color dear! You wanted to wear a new dress on your birthday, right? So got one for you. Wear it to office and enjoy the day.

Kittu squealed happily. Yeh hua na perfect birthday! She was about to go and try the dress when she remembered that she was here for breakfast. She quickly whipped up some breakfast and after eating it, she went to her fridge to get some milk. As soon as she opened her bridge she felt her breath leave her. Oh My God! Oh My God! No way these guys got this for me! No way! Now why was Kittu so excited? Simple! Right in front of her was a bucket filled with butterscotch icecream. Kittu felt emotional. It has been ages since she had butterscotch ice cream as she does not get it in her area. Kittu sighed blissfully as she spooned some icecream into her mouth. This is the best birthday ever!

Soon Kittu bounced off to her room to get ready for the day. Before she knew it, she was ready and was off to her Office wearing her Lavender dress. Later in the evening when she came home she found the house in dark. Itna andhera kyun hai bhai? She switched on the light and...

"SURPRISE!"

Kittu looked on shocked as everyone clapped and cheered. She felt smile come on her face. Her parents, family friends, colleagues from office, her nieghbourhood friends; all were there to celebrate her birthday. Her brother had also come down from Bath. She even saw her IF friends there. There was Lakshmi Di, Priya Di, Babie Di and many more. Oh My God! Was that the writer of Making Khushi Mine? And she was sure she spotted Muskaan, the writer of some of her favorite stories there too. OK! Now Kittu was officially freaked out. Before she could say anything, she heard someone sing from somewhere, "Yeh Toh Bas Shuruvaat Hai! Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai!" Kittu rolled her eyes. That was definitely Kalpana! Only she can sing songs at any and every occasion. But where was Kalpana? And for that matter where is Dona?

Before Kittu could wonder more, Kalpana and Dona entered the room with a two tiered cake in their hands. Kittu smiled happily. At her friends. Not at the cake. Right? Soon, all started singing the birthday song as Kittu blew her candles and cut the cake.

Time passed away and soon all settled down at whatever place they could find eating the cake and other snacks that Kalpana, Dona and Kittu's parents had arranged. Suddenly, Kalpana got up and spoke, "Hey Bestie! Any birthday of my friends is incomplete without a song parody and I did promise you with one ages ago when you liked the one I wrote for Dona. So here it is! My parody for you!"

Kalpana pulled out a guitar and strummed it. Kittu blinked. Kalpana doesnot know how to play guitar, right? Before she could say anything, Kalpana winked at her and she remembered. Oh yes! This is a story! Anything is possible here! Kalpana chose to sing the song, Tu Tu Hai Wahi from the movie Yeh Waada Raha!
