All good or bad Goenkas share some common traits:
- Some obsession
Be it a friend, BF/GF, money, power or sex or religion and rituals or family happiness ans reputation. Each Goenka has a certain typical obsession.
- Family name pride
Either in conceit or concern each has fetish over Goenka surname.
- Madness over friends
Shaurya does anything under influence of friends. Dev bonded more with friends than family. Sakshi shared more with bestie Raima than anyone. All are willing to let friends interfere or define their lives even if it causes disturbance in family.
- Some affair that is obvious but not acknowledged
Shaurya had many. Dev was with Nitya. Rajnath with Raima. Kangana with Karan.
Suchitra and Sakshi are the only ones whose affairs are either not there at all or are unknown.
- Belief in impossible
Dev believes dead Nitya is alive. Suchitra believes pujas and dhaagas can do anything. Shaurya believes he can recover, anything can be done at his will even bringing hospital or airport to home. Sakshi and Rajnath have impossible faith they can do anything and won't even give options to God. Kangana believes everything is fine or will be fine.
- Sleeping
Please note sleeping has various connotations.
Rajnath, Shaurya and Kangana sleep with others. Suchitra sleepwalks through life. Dev is also partly asleep and was sleeping for years earlier in his own dreamworld.
Sakshi does not sleep physically but is asleep in stupor of power.
- Lack of cooperation
They are family only in name. No team spirit or cooperation here. Be it Shaurya, Rajnath or Sakshi or Kangana, Suchitra or Dev - no one cooperates with other on anything. Each wants to do his or her own thing.
- Botched up plans
All get discovered by one or other in some plan. No one is a perfect plotter and planner or conspirator here.
- No work
Yes! No one goes to work. No one does any work at home either. Rajnath is at AMIAR industries always on pretext of work. There is an empire but no one knows how it runs.
- Acting
All keep pretending and acting in attempt to hide something.
- Giving preference to outsider over family
Sakshi and Rajnath with Raima. Shaurya with friends. Kangana with Karan. Dev with Nitya. Suchitra between everyone - caught and hence runs away.
- Miffed with God
Every Goenka has dictated to God or bashed Him for not rewarding penance or questioned how could He do this to them.
- Making extreme claims
Whether they live upto those or not they all make tall claims. In extreme language. I will never do this. I will never let this happen. I will always be there. Nothing less than never or always for them.
- Tamasha in public places
Hospital, mandir, hotel, road - you name it! Each Goenka has done tamasha with emotional outbursts everywhere.
- All are irritating and problematic
For ua viewers also. And in the show also. Be it friends or employees or citizens, nobody knows why they tolerate Goenkas and put up with them.
- Obsessed with Durga
Some hate her. Some eulogise her. They keep visiting her.
