He felt around the bed for Sanyukta's body, but all he felt were the soft covers. Opening his eyes, he saw that she wasn't there.
"Sanyukta?" he called out.
There was no response. He got up and grabbed his clothes before walking into the shower. Maybe she woke up early and didn't want to wake him up. He sighed. He wanted to shower with her this morning, but it seemed like that plan would have to wait.
After he showered and got ready, he noticed her suitcase was open. On the ground was a box of pads.
His mouth fell open. Was Sanyukta on her period? He ran towards the box and picked it up, inspecting the label. They were indeed pads. His heart started to hammer. Now what? What was he supposed to do? How would she do the tasks?
He grabbed his phone and dialed her number, but she didn't pick up. He texted her where are you? but she didn't respond.
Finally, he left his room and decided to look for her.
He looked everywhere, but couldn't find her. Where was this girl? God forbid, but what if something happened to her? She was sick!
After looking everywhere and circling the hotel grounds too, he gave up and waited at the lobby for everyone. Sanyukta would definitely show up here at least.
Soon everyone joined him in the lobby, except for Sanyukta. Vardhaan sir looked at Randhir with a puzzled expression on his face, before he turned towards Maya ma'am.
"I guess we'll get started then," Vardhaan sir said. Of course, he wasn't one to tolerate those who just happened to not show up.
Where was Sanyukta? Randhir's heart was pounding - she would not just disappear like this without notice. This was so unlike her.
Suddenly, Randhir felt her running towards him. He turned around to see her panting, her hand on her chest as she slowed down and stopped next to him. Her hair was tied and her face was glowing, as if she had just completed an intense work out session.
Randhir felt himself get angry, even though he was inwardly relieved that she was alright - why did she have to run in this state? She needed to take care of herself.
"Sanyukta Agarwal," Vardhaan sir snapped, looking angry. "You know how I feel about latecomers."
"Sorry sir!" she apologized. "I was - I was..."
"Sir it was my fault," Randhir stepped in. "I'm sorry. I had her room key."
Vardhaan sir wasn't an idiot. Randhir knew that he would be able to see right through his lie, but Vardhaan sir looked surprised.
"Interesting... very interesting," he muttered. "This won't be tolerated from now on."
"Yes sir," both Randhir and Sanyukta said simultaneously.
"Okay, so today's task will be a simple one. One of your teammates will be blindfolded and the other one will act as a guide to get them to their destination," Vardhaan sir explained. "The team that gets to their machine first, and is able to assemble it wins. Remember, one person is the eyes, and the other person is the hands."
Randhir wasn't concentrating on what Vardhaan sir was saying, he was too busy trying to figure out what happened to Sanyukta this morning.
"Meet me here in an hour," Vardhaan sir said. "Make sure you have decided who will do what."
As soon as he left with Maya ma'am, Sanyukta turned around and started to walk away. Confused, Randhir ran after her and grabbed her arm to turn her around.
"Where were you?" he exclaimed.
She shook her arm off from his grip, looking angry.
"Who are you of mine?" she snapped. "I don't have to explain anything to you."
What the hell? Randhir felt himself get pissed off now. She was being absolutely irrational. Was it because she was having period moodswings? Whatever that meant.
"Who am I of yours?" Randhir asked angrily. "Are you seriously asking me that question?"
She rolled her eyes.
"I don't have time for your nonsense Randhir," she snapped back at him. "Leave me alone!"
"You're on your period so you're saying this bullshit," Randhir said angrily, squeezing her arms tightly.
She flinched, but she didn't pull herself away.
"I'm not on my period!" she snapped at him. "And even if I was, that's no way to talk to a girl who is on her period!"
"Oh yeah?" Randhir asked, angry that she was lying to him now. "Then why was your box of pads on the ground in my room?"
"It probably fell Randhir!" she yelled, tears invading her eyes. "Leave me alone!"
"No," he said, pulling her close.
"Randhir, people might see," she whispered, sounding frustrated.
"Sanyukta, let them see," he said through gritted teeth as his mouth moved closer and closer to hers. "Where were you?"
"Randhir," she breathed out, her eyes closing as his hands left her shoulders and cupped her cheeks softly. "I was - I was..."
Then before she even completed what she was going to say, she had pressed her lips on his, catching him off guard. One of his hands slid to the back of her head, under her ponytail. He felt her shiver when his fingers touched the nape of her neck and her hands clutched at his shirt tightly.
"I'm on my period Randhir," she murmured. "Do you still want to kiss me?"
"I don't care," he said, and kissed her harder.
He felt her loosen up and fall further into his arms. He used his arms to support her and hold her up. He loved it when she fell weak like this. Her lips curved upwards as his tongue slipped inside her mouth and he knew that she was smiling.
They pulled apart for air - but Randhir barely got a chance to inhale because Sanyukta had urgently smacked her lips against his again.
"People will see Sanyukta," he whispered, mocking her earlier words.
"Who cares," she whispered back, her hands on his cheeks, her lips on his.
"Let's go upstairs," he muttered as her hands fell to his shoulders.
She took a step back and he looked around the room - he was thankful that nobody was there. If someone had seen them, then they had the decency to leave them alone.
"What if Vardhaan sir saw that?" Sanyukta teased.
Randhir felt his face pale up. If Vardhaan sir saw that, he didn't know how he'd ever be able to face his professor ever again.
She laced her fingers through his and started to walk towards the elevators.
"Come on," she urged.
"Someone's eager," he pointed out lightly. "By the way, where were you?"
He felt her hands go limp as she stopped in her tracks. He saw the fear that was written all over her face.
"Nowhere," she said, starting to fidget.
He felt anger rise up from within again.
"Sanyukta when will you stop lying to me?" he asked angrily, removing his hand from hers.
"Leave me alone," she said. "I don't want to be with you."
"You're just saying that because of this stupid bet," he told her. "Where were you?"
"You aren't my boyfriend Randhir," Sanyukta snapped. "I can go anywhere I want to and I don't need to tell you where I was."
He angrily grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards the elevator and pressed the button. She tried to remove her arm from his grasp but he was holding her too tightly. The elevator was empty when it opened.
Randhir pressed the button to their floor before he pushed her against the wall. She tried to escape, but he blocked her escape route by placing both hands on either side of her body.
"I'm not your boyfriend?" he asked angrily.
"No," she stated firmly, shaking her head.
He moved closer to her, his mouth an inch away from hers.
"Randhir," she whispered. "Stop it."
"What's gotten into you Sanyukta?" he asked, his voice softening, as his lips moved closer and closer to hers.
"N - nothing," she whispered as his lips brushed over hers lightly.
"Is it your period?" he asked, sliding his hands down the wall and across her stomach.
She shivered as his lips moved to her cheek. He kissed it softly before kissing his way down. As his lips brushed over her jawline, she breathed sharply. He kissed down her neck to her collarbone as she squeezed her eyes shut and clutched the sleeves of his shirt tightly.
Then the elevator door opened. Before she could even react, Randhir had taken her hand and lead her to his room. As soon as they entered and locked the door, he picked her up and walked with her to his bed, kissing her forehead lightly.
"Randhir," Sanyukta whispered, breathing quickly as he lay her down. "We have to be there for the task."
"Don't worry, we have time," he murmured, as he climbed to the other side of the bed. He took her hand in his and brought it to his lips before kissing it softly. "I'll be blindfolded, you tell me where to go."
"No, I'll be blindfolded," she denied.
"Sanyukta," Randhir said, feeling himself get annoyed. "You're on your period. Take care of yourself... I don't want you bumping into random things."
"Oh my God Randhir!" Sanyukta said, sitting up on the bed and glaring at him. "I'm not on my period!"
"You told me you were!" he yelled defensively.
"I wanted to see how you'd react!" she said, smirking slightly.
He grabbed her arms and pushed her back down on the bed, him hovering over her.
"Oh yeah?" he asked, with a raised eyebrow. "Prove it."
"What?" she asked, her mouth falling open. "P - Prove it? How?"
"Don't act so innocent Sanyukta Agarwal," Randhir said with a smirk. "Prove that you're not on your period."
"I am not acting MCP!" she yelled, struggling from under him, trying to push him off.
Randhir let go of one of her arms and slid his hand down her stomach and under her kurti, feeling the skin of her navel.
"Randhir!" she whispered breathlessly, as his fingers caressed her waist. "Stop it!"
"Are you sure about that Farzi?" he asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
He moved his mouth towards hers and before he could press his lips against hers, she had lifted her head up to capture his lips first. She rolled him over so that she was on top of him.
"Why don't you leave me alone?" she muttered before she licked the space between his lips, urging him to open them.
"Why do I need to leave you alone?" Randhir asked, smirking as he denied her entry into his mouth.
"Because you aren't my boyfriend!" she said loudly, frustrated that he wasn't opening his mouth. She moved her lips off his and pressed them against his jaw.
"God I love you," he replied as she kissed his chin, her fingers playing with the buttons of his shirt.
He grabbed her bottom with his hands causing her eyes to widen.
"What are you doing?" she snapped.
"Trying to get my proof," he said with a cocky smirk as he slid his hands up to the elastic of her trousers.
"MCP, what difference does it make?" she asked, digging her nails into his shoulders.
"So I know what to expect in the next few days Farzi," Randhir said as she sucked on his neck gently. "By the way, can you finally tell me where you were, or is that mystery never going to be solved?"
She froze, her lips still on his neck, before she slid herself off his body and stood up, adjusting her clothes.
"What the hell Sanyukta!" Randhir said angrily, as he got up and grabbed her arm, turning her around. "Tell me where you were dammit!"
"Why do you have to be such a MCP!" she yelled angrily. "Why do you need to control me? Why can't I go wherever I want to go without explaining myself? Is it because I'm a girl?"
He didn't know why she was behaving this way - it was a simple question, and now she was getting all defensive over it.
"Sanyukta just tell me!" he said, getting pissed off.
