Crossover between TO and TVD

TV viewers who love when "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" cross paths will be delighted to know that a crossover between the two vampire dramas is currently in the works.

Last seasons, the shows featured two crossovers. In the first, Tyler made an appearance on "The Originals" and in the second, Klaus and Rebekah stopped by Mystic Falls during TVD's 100th episode.

During the 2014 Comic-Con, TVD executive producer Julie Plec confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that a crossover will definitely take place when the shows return to The CW this fall.

"It looks like we are going to be able to do a crossover in the first half of the season, and I can't tell you what or who or when because it hasn't been shot yet, but things are looking good," she said.

She also teased that Original vampire Alaric will not be the focus of this particular crossover, however that doesn't mean that it won't happen sometime in the future.

"I just love the idea of Matt Davis playing in the pool with Joe [Joseph Morgan] and Daniel [Gillies]," Plec said.

In addition, TVD viewers can look forward to Plec's directorial debut in Season 6. Although she has been running the show for five years, she says she recently mustered up the courage to direct the show.

"I was convinced I would be dreadful at it," said the EP. "I directed a school musical in college and it was being so terrible at directing that made me realize I was such a good producer and that put me on my first career path. Then I had to remind myself that I also thought I would absolutely positively never be a writer because I thought I was a terrible writer for years," she admitted. "I just was convinced, 'Oh, I'm good producer; I'm a s--ty writer.' And then I actually started writing and I thought, 'Oh, actually -- I'm pretty good at this, at least intermittently good at this.'"

Earlier this month, Plec revealed that TVD will include a foil that will appear throughout the sixth season.

"There is a big bad, it's a long, slow-burn mythology that will unfold over the course of the entire season and will really impact each of our character in deep ways and it's smart and it's interesting and it's small, which I like," she said in an interview with E! News. "Instead of trying to top ourselves year to year, we try to scale back and see if we can keep it really personal and rooted in character," she added.
