Actress Cameron Diaz doesn't think she should start doing serious roles in order to be considered for an Academy award, for she believes happy roles are as applicable as brooding and dark roles for an Oscar nomination.
The Mask beauty said that she is not 'ashamed' of portraying happy, bubbly characters in films. "I'm not ashamed of being a happy, bubbly and funny person. I think that is just as valid as being the dark and brooding Oscar-nominated one," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. "So if anyone wants to start putting me in a box, that's fine by me," Diaz added.
The actress also rues the fact that she's so bad at making long-term plans, for that's a trait that has made her miss out on a lot of good roles.
The star, who has acted in movies such as Charlie's Angels, There's Something About Mary, My Best Friend's Wedding, and The Mask, admits that she's missed out on other big roles because of she just can't seem to commit.
