In the past five years, Colors didn't make any money on its flagship show Bigg Boss, though it had a huge impact on the popularity of the channel (in terms of overall viewership), putting it among the top three.

With record sponsorship deals, the channel aims to break-even this year.

Colors has upped the ante and is set to spend Rs 140-150 crore to air what will be the most expensive show on TV, surpassing its last year's record.
At that time, it had forked out Rs 110-120 crore for the 90-day extravaganza.

Colors is selling ad rates for a 10-second spot on Bigg Boss for Rs 3.5-4 lakh...second only to this years IPL.

Colors is also paying the highest amount for an anchor, Salman Khan.
He is set to get Rs 5-6 crore a week, against Rs 3.5-4 crore last year, according to analysts.
This means Khan might pocket Rs 60-65 crore for this season of Bigg Boss.

it seems colors is all after money and trps.it doesnot like fiction shows because it can pull off their plug any time for reality show!

it's step motherly treatment towards its own fictional shows is quite obvious.when a show airs on rangeela,u start following it,then u start liking the main leads,fan following increases,and then what the show is suddenly pulled off air leaving the fan disappointed! I will never watch any other show on colors because i know it will be on air till big boss 9!

Colorless can be open with the viewers and inform them as well as PH that they need fictional shows with last only 9 months. Then a good story can be planned and executed without the interfence of the channel. Everybody will get what they want.
