Salman Khan is riding high over the success of his Sajid Nadiadwala film, 'Kick'. In an interview to Filmfare, Salman explains how he feels about the big hit, and also expresses his thoughts on the current big extravaganza that is attached to films these days - 'promotions'.
When asked what annoys him about the movie business these days, Salman said, "The promotions! Earlier we used to finish our dubbing and be done with the film. Then, the producer would go out and promote the movie. Now, the game has changed. The actor has to promote the film. It is a big pain. And promotions are just getting 'cheaper'. People are going to any limits to promote their film. It is ridiculous. I feel the audience should see the promos and songs of the film and then decide if they want to watch the movie or not. We should do a few interviews here and there but that is it. It gets repetitive and boring after a while. "
Wow, that is some strong resentment towards the big promotional scene of today. While the other two Khans are busy searching for innovative promotional tactics, Salman seems to shy away from it. What are your thoughts on this one? What do you think Salman meant when he said the whole promotion business is getting 'cheap'. Any thoughts?
