Chapter 7
Mum, No Way In Hell Are They Staying Here.
"What?!" I shouted. "Are you freaking kidding me?" Just when I thought my day couldn't get worse, Mum had to come and announce such terrible news. I was happy for her, no doubt. But then I was sacrificing my happiness for her. Call me selfish if you want to but normally, I would've agreed if it concerned her happiness. Right now? No. No way.
What Mum was telling me horrified me to no end. Apparently, Mum, Vanshika and her husband are going out to have some fun in the weekend and they'll be out of city. That's supposed to be a good thing right? But no, Mum just had to say that Jeevika, Zee and Virat would be staying here. In. Our. Home. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it would have just been Jeevika and Zee but Virat...? You've gotta be freaking kidding me. "Mum, do you even know what you're talking about?"
"I know very well, Maanvi Chaudhry. If you're sensible enough then you'll let them stay here in our house. You get me?" Oh no... this had to turn out even more horrible. Mum calling me by my full name implied that she was angry... very angry and she was ready to turn into Godzilla in the next few minutes.
However, I just had to be so stupid as to shout back at her. "But Mum, they're our neighbours. Their house is just an arm's distance from ours. What's the problem if they stay there and not here? Plus, you honestly want to leave your daughter with the devil named Virat who would team up with Neil and Zee to pester me? Mum, no way in hell are they staying here." And I regret it for it looked like flames were dancing in her eyes. I gulped.
"Jeevika is always there. And you know better than to shout back at me. You'll not bring another word about this. It's final and now go to your room."
I sighed and went up to my room. Neil annoyed me at times... I couldn't believe the fact that he was siding with Mum. I mean he would have to share his room with Virat and Zee. The same bed even. And as far as I knew, nobody was allowed to share a bed with him. Nobody. Ugh! I hate him... okay fine I don't hate him. I dislike him. There!
Slumping down on my bed, I let out a frustrated cry.
"Everything all right there, Peaches?" I looked around, not being able to find him. But then of course, my eyes wandered off to the window, which was open and saw that Virat was waving like crazy. I walked up to the window. Seriously, who was the architect who did this kind of work? The houses, like, stuck to each other. Virat's room was just - as I had mentioned earlier - was an arm's distance away from mine.
I gazed at his room, spotting a book shelf behind him, which was full of books. He noticed my raised eyebrows and gave his infamous smirk. "What? Thought I was a dumb bad boy who didn't read. Well, you're quite judgemental, aren't you?"
I shrugged. "Not my fault. You act all badass so it's hard to believe a person like you actually reads. Not to mention, reads good books." I had to admit, his book collection was really good. Now, that proves I can see everything inside his room. I can even climb the branch of the tree in front and get inside his room pretty easily. Not that I even wanted to.
"Hey Vir-" a voice called but stopped. Looking behind Virat's shoulder, I noticed a handsome guy at the door. Of course! That was none other than, Jason Evans. Virat aka the Bad Boy's best friend and partner in crime. Who, unfortunately, was in the football team too. And also one of those from the team whom I didn't know. "Well well well... if it isn't Little Em," he said. What did he just call me?
"Sorry?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. Did that guy just call me Little Em? Oh he's so dead.
Giving a smirk, he walked over to stand beside Virat. "I said if it isn't Little Em."
"You don't have the right to call me Little Em, Evans," I replied fiercely. "Besides, that name just sucks."
"I like it." Came his reply. He was still smirking but it seemed like he was trying to hide a smile. Okay, it wasn't wrong to say he wasn't bad looking. I mean he was in the football team and most of the time it seemed like the players from the team were more of models and they were chosen on the basis of looks. But... as much as I hated to say this, those guys always managed to kill it.
"Don't you guys have something better to do than pester me? Really? I can't believe I have to spend my weekend with you Jock... that too under the same roof. Sheesh! I must have done something wrong in my previous life to suffer this," I said. Yes, I let out all my frustration on them. In fact, I'm happy I said that. It's not like Virat would be hurt, right? Right?
"Oh come one, Peaches. You know you love me." Again that smirk. Why? Oh why? What have I done, God? Why is he even after me? I'm a nerd, I'm not even that pretty, I'm mean, I'm bitchy then why is the school's jock, the bad boy, handsome guy after me?
"Whatever," I replied and was just about to draw the curtains when my eyes landed on the packet Jason was holding. He was taking out the stuff from it and handing those to Virat. Brownies... oh my freaking gosh... brownies. The love of my life! Okay, that may have been too much but come on I'm a brownie lover. I cannot survive without brownies and if I do see someone eating them, I'm always there to finish it up. However, I was just to proud to ask them for even one brownie. Jason saw me looking at those and he smirked.
"Aww Little Em loves brownies and she's drooling," he cooed. I glared at him and brought out my hand to wipe the drool from my mouth but what I noticed was that I wasn't even drooling. He caught me. "I was kidding. You're not drooling but you certainly like brownies. Do one thing. Why don't you come here? We can share."
He showed me the plate full of chocolate brownies and I could feel my mouth watering. How could I decline? So yes, I had to go and I immediately regretted not taking the front door. I was an idiot to climb on that branch and jump inside his room through the window because I fell straight on the floor. Virat and Jason were rolling with laughter and I could feel my cheeks flush. Getting up, I dusted my pants and then took one brownie from the plate. As soon as I put it inside my mouth, I moaned in delight. Yum! Those were the best brownies I had ever had.
"Mmmh... where did you buy those brownies from?" I asked Jason who was still laughing. He sobered and flashed me a smile before answering. "I did not buy those. My mom made them."
"Wow! I so need to meet your mother, Jasy," I teased him, sticking my tongue out.
Virat snorted. "Real mature." I gave him a death glare and huffed. "Did I ask your opinion? I thought Jason and I were talking... so do not interrupt."
"By the way, stop calling me Jasy," Jason said, whilst I gave him an evil smirk.
"Stop calling me Little Em."
"No way."
"Okay," I said happily.
"You know I hate being ignored," Virat said finally and we both looked at his devastated face. Suddenly, I started laughing and after some time even Jason joined in. "What the heck is it? And Jase, I thought you were in my side."
"To be honest here, dude, I full on support Maanvi."
"Backstabbing best friend," Virat muttered. "Who would've thought you would ditch me for her?"
While they were busy with their banter, I quietly finished all the brownies. I wanted more!!! What? Those were just awesome and you would say so yourself if you had them. Sadly, you did not.
"What the heck?!" Jason exclaimed, suddenly. "You ate them all?"
I nodded but he shook his head in disbelief. Virat had already started laughing quite hard. "For a girl of your size, you sure eat a lot, Peaches."
"Anyway, I loved the brownies, Jasy... tell your mother that. Thanks guys! I had a fun time eating. Bye bye!" I laughed and went downstairs, not wanting to jump out of the window again.
I opened the door of our house and ran up straight to my room. I couldn't afford to even look at Mum... she would definitely eat me alive.
My anger may have vanished but I was still against the idea of them staying here. I would have to tolerate him. HIM of all people!
And I certainly wasn't ready to have him here.

Author's Note
Gosh, thank you sooo much guys! I love to read your comments :) I hope you like this chapter even though it's not long and this, according to me, is the worst chapter till now.
I also wanted your opinion on something. I'm going to start a short story after my exams end but I'm so excited to share it with you guys that I want to post the description before the exams. However, you'll have to wait for the first chapter and I know it's torture because I simply HATE to wait.
So, would you guys like me to post the description tomorrow? Or would you prefer it if I post it after the exams? That way you won't have to keep waiting for the prologue.
The description will contain a small sneak peek kind of thing, like I've done with The Perfect Disaster.
Let me know what you think? And also give your opinion about this chapter :)
Love,
Stella
