HOLAAA! Sorry for the lateness, I went up to the cottage and took my laptop, but I forgot my charger at home so it was pretty much useless. Sigh. Anyways, here is the last part. I hope you all like it. Do let me know what you thinkkk.
Part 3 of 3
Zoya let out a loud sigh as she sat down on the breakfast table between her abbu and Aapi, across from Asad the next morning. It was the third sigh she had let out in the course of the past ten minutes, she knew her abbu would ask her why she was sighing soon and she wasn't disappointed when he spoke.
"What happened?" Her abbu asked looking at his daughter with a cautious look, he knew something was wrong because she had walked in and slumped into her chair sadly and just pushed her food around the plate.
"Akram told me he had nine girlfriends before me. ALLAH MIYAH! Abbu NINE, NEUF, NUEVE, NAU, NEUN, NOVE!" She whined dramatically in various languages causing Asad to stifle a smile as he looked down into his plate, he definitely missed this eccentric and loud Zoya.
"YA ALLAH." Aapi gasped playing her part. "Nine?"
"Nine?" Her abbu asked as well his eyes wide. "Maybe it's the norm for today's generation." He reasoned after speculating for a while. He thought that today's generation had the freedom to date around and find the right person, and they took this opportunity. He didn't like it but he also realized that you had to change in time, if you stood stiff time would break you.
"Allah Miyah! What's wrong with you abbu?" Zoya gasped before turning to look at Zeenat. "Aapi! Aren't you Jiju's first and last girlfriend?" Zoya asked and Zeenat nodded in response. "See abbu! Asad! How many girlfriends have you had?" She asked turning to him and smiling sweetly causing him to cough. He didn't expect that question.
"None." Asad said, unless Zoya counted as one...he wasn't quite sure what their relationship was over the years. But they hadn't explicitly dated so she probably didn't count. Now if she'd asked how many women he'd been in love with the answer would have been one, just her. Always.
"None?" Ghafoor asked shocked. He wasn't blind, he realized Asad was an attractive man. He had seen that women tended to be mesmerized by him as soon as he walked into the room and men were intimidated, it was one of the reasons he was so good at what he did. He could charm or intimidate anyone. He also knew that Asad spoke the absolute truth but he wondered why a man that could have anyone he wanted didn't want anyone.
"I don't believe in dating around, there is only person out there for you, and I believe that you know when you find them." He said looking at Ghafoor meaning every word he said, Zoya gave him a sly smile and waggled her eyebrows.
"See Abbu?" She whined turning around to face him and putting her head in her hands.
"Do you want me to talk to him?"
"No, it'll just make things awkward. It's not like I can change the past. I just wish I was his first." She sighed.
Ghafoor nodded feeling the plight of his daughter. "Akram should be more like you." He said touching Asad's shoulder as he got up. Zoya waggled her eyebrows at Asad behind her father's back, smiling. "Zeenat, we should leave. We'll see you at dinner." He said to them all before walking away with his elder daughter, who winked and gave them a thumbs up before leaving.
"Can we up the ante? I don't like baby steps." Zoya said pouting at Asad as they disappeared out of sight and out of hearing range.
"No." Asad said.
"You are such a meanie."
"Yet you still love me." He teased.
"HA. You are so funny mister. Stupid tortured soul."
"Hey!"
"You are such an idiot. What if I actually got married to that idiot?"
"I don't think I would have let that happen, I was pretty close to cracking before your ultimatum." He grinned.
"You're not doing this because I threatened to kill myself right? You actually want this, right?"
"Now look at who is being an idiot." He said.
"Seriously Asad."
"Zoya. I've loved you for as long as I can remember and I am sorry for pushing you away. It wasn't right and neither is this. But I picked the right wrong for me, the one that keeps me with you."
"Good." She smiled. "Because I plan on staying forever. Even as a ghost I'd haunt you. And this ain't wrong."
"You crazy girl. Let's go, we have a plan to implement."
X-X-X-X
"How do you find this shit?" Zoya asked in awe looking at the papers in front of her, there were names, pictures, dates and detailed accounts of activity of everyone.
"You forget what I do for a living." He smiled at her loving the look of awe on her face.
"That's it. You are amazing. You are god." Zoya laughed.
"My ego thanks you."
"HA! Anyways, you called all of them?"
"Texted. All 15 of them."
"Asshole, here I thought nine was a lot and we found fifteen, there's probably more. He seems like a f**king douchebag that would sleep around too." Zoya sighed then slapped Asad's arm. "I almost married this asshole because of you."
"Owww." Asad whined.
"Stop whining."
"It hurts." He said.
"Want me to kiss it better?" She said sarcastically.
"I wouldn't mind." He smiled.
"You're like your teen self again." Zoya smiled, this is what they always did before Asad decided to needlessly use his brain.
"I have a few years of catching up to do." He shrugged.
"Clearly. You know we should have went out when I was in my teens, I felt so robbed of the experience when my friends had boyfriends."
"You wanted a boyfriend?"
"I wanted YOU." She said.
"I knew I always was irresistible." He teased.
"ALLAH MIYAH! I didn't mean it like that." She blushed.
"HA. I didn't miss how you used to ogle me." He teased causing her blush to deepen.
"Okay maybe I did. You were no better okay."
"You know what they say about teenage guys." He laughed.
"OMG. Asad!" She said whacking him again. They sat there laughing before Zoya spoke up. "Isn't it weird how we went back to the old us so easily, like everything in between didn't happen?"
"It's not smart to dwell on the past." He sighed. "I am so sorry Zoya, I can't even begin to imagine how bad it was for you...if it was even half of what I-"
"Promise me that you'll never do something like that again. Don't push me away ever and don't leave me, ever." She whispered.
"I promise." He said as her phone chimed.
"Perfect. He agreed." She said reading the text message from him.
"ABBU!" Zoya yelled running down the stairs. "Akram invited us over for dinner!"
"What? So suddenly?" He asked surprised.
"Yeah. Be ready in an hour?" Zoya asked.
"Okay. Tell Asad to come with us." He said as Zoya turned around and smiled. She wasn't planning to go anywhere without Asad. She jumped up and down happily and gave Asad, Zeenat and Anwar a high-five.
"I don't know why I got dragged into this." Anwar said.
"HEY! Don't loaft, Jiju! Memorize what you are going to say." Zoya said rolling her eyes.
X-X-X-X-X
"Akram, this was quite unexpected." Ghafoor said as he sat down on the dining table beside Akram's father. The room was huge, the dining table big enough to seat 18 and stretching across the room. The room was impeccably decorated and looked like it was barely used, giving it a cold vibe.
"We realized that you had never been over for dinner." Akram's father said as the servers walked in with the appetizers.
Zoya sat in between Akram and Asad with Aapi and Jiju across her. She made small talk with Akram's sister who was sitting beside Asad, and leaning towards him a bit too much for Zoya's taste. Zoya glared at her every time she giggled and slapped Asad's arm like he was saying the funniest thing in the world...but he wasn't even speaking, she was the one that went on and on. Zoya almost let out a scream when she felt a hand grasp hers under the table but she barely contained herself and turned to Asad.
"Stop glaring at her like that." He whispered so only she could hear.
"Want to switch seats?" She whispered back.
"Do you want me to kill Akram before dinner even starts?" He whispered back. Zoya tried to hide her smile as the door bell chimed at 7:00pm sharp. She looked over to Asad and then at her Aapi and Jiju. Let the games begin.
The four of them conspicuously looked towards the door leading into the dining room expectedly waiting for it to open as the bell chimed for the second time. A server walked in looking a bit confused and announced the arrival of another dinner guest causing Akram, his father and his mother to look confused, his sister was too busy staring at Asad to notice.
"Miss Abhaya informed me that Akram Baba called her over for dinner." The man said before moving away and revealing a beautiful young girl, she has wearing a skin-tight black lace dress that she looked amazing in, but Zoya wasn't sure if it was appropriate for family dinner. Asad smirked as he noticed Akram pale as he heard the bell chime for the third time.
"Hi baby!" She said excitedly looking at Akram. "I am so glad you called me to have dinner with your family!"
"I- I - ..." Akram just looked at her unable to form a sentence, Zoya tried to contain her laughter, this was going to get much worse really quick. The server came in again, followed by two more women who were glaring at each other. Their eyes grew wide as they noticed Abhaya standing by the door.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" They both yelled at her.
"Uhm, I am here to have dinner with Akram." She said confused. "But what the hell are you two doing here?"
"AKRAM IS MY BOYFRIEND." They both yelled before turning to each other and glaring at again.
"You wh**e!" The shorter one yelled. The taller one gasped and started ranting with Abhaya standing between them confused as the bell rang again. Zoya looked at Asad and then at her Abbu, the latter looked rather shocked.
"Akram what is the meaning of this?" His father hissed.
"I-I..." He started to say but was interrupted by two more screams as two more women walked into the room.
"DI? What are you doing here?" One of them asked looking at the tall one, who Zoya had established was named Kiran.
"Naina? What are you doing here?" She gasped looking at who was apparently her little sister. Zoya looked at her Aapi her eyes wide. Asad's eyes grew wide with shock as he looked past Zoya at Akram. "He dated sisters?" Asad whispered to Zoya.
"Oh, I am loving this so much." Zoya whispered back as Kiran, god bless her soul, marched across the room and pulled Akram up by the collar.
"You bas***d, you dated me and my sister, why am I not surprised? Here I was thinking that you've changed and wanted to correct your mistakes but you invited all these women?!" She looked pointedly towards the door where more women had gathered. Zoya kind of felt sorry for them, she was quite sure that Akram was dating a lot of them at the same time since they all seemed to know each other and the room was filled with random gasps as soon as one of them spoke.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DATED THIS wh**e." Another one yelled looking at a girl beside her.
"Shut your mouth you idiot. If you call any of them wh**es then you are calling yourself one by default because you are standing there too." Kiran yelled looking at her. Oh, Zoya wanted to hug this woman, this was all going so perfectly.
"Psttt." Zoya whispered to Asad. "Maybe we should just let him stand as the door and have them all file out and slap him on the way out - like a revolving door." She giggled, Asad let out a snort but contained himself pretending to cough.
"You f**king sleaze ball, how many women have you fooled around with, there are already ten in here..." She stopped for a second as the bell rang again. "f**k you." She said and everyone in the room gasped as she punched Akram, hitting him right in the nose. Asad was sure he heard his nose break, and looked across the table at Anwar who was trying to contain his laughter but was failing miserably.
"WHY DID YOU PUNCH HIM?" A voice came from the door, everyone's head popped up in that direction. Gasps rang out in the room as a very pregnant woman walked into the room, her hands were resting on her protruding stomach, and Zoya was sure that she was at least eight months pregnant.
"Who are you?" Kiran asked.
"Akram's fiancee." She said. "Baby, why are all of these women here? I thought we were telling your family about our baby."
Zoya's heart broke a little for her, she looked like she genuinely believed what she was saying. She looked around and it was almost as if she realized what was going on because she started tearing up.
"AKRAM!" His dad said apparently having heard and seen enough, he got up in his chair and glared at his son. "What is the meaning of all this?"
"Oh, Mr. Miah, I'll tell you exactly what's going on here." Kiran said.
"Your son is a f**king manwh**e, he made all of us believe that he was in love with us, and slept around with us only to stop calling back one day. Am I right ladies?" Kiran said turning around to the herd of women. They all let out a loud "yes", sounding very angry. "I wouldn't be surprised if more women show up claiming to be pregnant with this sleazeball's child."
Zoya watched amazed as little Abhaya, the first woman to get here, marched across the room and slapped Akram across his face. "I've always hated the way you spoke, oh, and YEAH SIZE DOES MATTER YOU ASSHOLE." She yelled. Zoya's eyes grew wide and she could hear her Jiju howling with laughter, and she heard little giggles coming from the women around the room. "HMPH." She said flipping her long hair over her shoulder and whacking Akram's face in the process before marching out.
"Ladies, why don't we leave this bas***d here and go get some ice-cream?" Kiran said looking at the women, they all nodded. "I am sorry that some of you are related to this douchebag - actually, I am just sorry that you know this douchebag. Have a nice life though." She said looking at the people around the table. "And how about you tell me all about your baby?" She finally said to the sniffling pregnant woman. She nodded and grabbed her finger, wiggling it, Zoya realized that she was taking a ring off which she threw at Akram, it hit him right in the forehead before falling onto the table.
"I'd rather my baby not know his douchebag of a father." She said before following Kiran and the others out of the room.
Zoya looked at the silent faces around the table, her abbu looked downright scandalized and shocked. Akram's mom was crying, his sister was still staring at Asad and Akram's father looked furious. Zoya motioned for her Aapi to start talking. Zeenat nodded and leaned over to speak to her abbu in a hushed tone that no one else could hear.
"Abbu, we can't let Zoya marry him. Her life will be ruined." Zeenat said to her father. Zoya watched as her father nodded and stood up, the rest of the Siddiqui clan also got up.
"Miah, this wedding will not take place. I won't ruin my daughter's life." He announced, if anyone expected Mr. Miah to argue they'd be surprised because he just nodded in understanding.
"I am sorry." He said to Ghafoor before looking at Akram sadly.
"Let's go children." Ghafoor said stepping out of his seat and heading towards the door. Zoya and Asad followed behind Zeenat and Anwar, Zoya beamed at Asad before composing herself and pretending to look sad as she should
Ghafoor paused by his car and stared at Zoya sadly, giving her an awkward side hug.
"We'll go grab something to eat since the servants are off for the night." Zoya said pointing towards Asad, who was standing by his jeep.
"No, you should -"
"Abbu, let her go. She won't talk to us about it like she will to Asad, she needs to vent about this." Zeenat whispered to her father. He nodded and smiled at Zoya before sitting in the car. Zeenat and Jiju followed her abbu into his car, sitting on either side of him as planned as Zoya followed Asad into his car.
"Poor Zoya." Zeenat sighed heavily as the driver pulled out of the driveway.
"It is a good thing we found out before the wedding though." Anwar pointed out.
"Yes, but we've already announced her engagement, invitations have been sent out." Zeenat said.
"The whole world is going to know what happened in that room Zeenat, those women, I counted about 15, aren't going to keep quiet about this." Anwar pointed out.
Zeenat and Anwar quieted for a second to see if their bait had caught the fish, Ghafoor was listening to their words intently and nodded before he spoke.
"Anwar is right, it is a good thing we found out now than later. Do you think Zoya is really sad about it?"
Zeenat internally did a happy dance but spoke with a somber expression. "Any girl would be, but at least she has Asad. The two of them have always been such good friends, she'll tell him what she wants to say and get it off her heart. And he always knows how to put a smile on her face."
Anwar nodded before speaking. "You know when I married into the family...I thought Asad and Zoya would end up together."
"Hmmm." Zeenat agreed. "They do look good together. And Asad is nothing like Akram."
"Oh, definitely. Asad is a gem, whoever ends up with him will be the luckiest girl in the world...but poor Zoya." Anwar said, he winked at Zeenat when he noticed that Ghafoor was nodding along with everything they were saying.
"You know, I used to think that Zoya actually liked Asad, and then she went away so I had no chance of actually finding out."
"I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case." Anwar replied. "And Asad, I don't think he realizes it, but...have you ever noticed how overprotective he is of Zoya? I mean if someone even looks at her the wrong way he's there and ready to protect her."
"You see it too?" Zeenat gasped. "I thought it was just me. He is so protective of her, his eyes just follow her everywhere she goes. I don't think anyone in the world could keep my sister safer than Asad." Zeenat said looking at Anwar.
Hook, line and now we wait for the sinker. The car was silent for a minute or two, only sounds of traffic rang out as Ghafoor Siddiqui contemplated what he was hearing.
"Zeenat?" He asked after a while.
"Yeah abbu?"
"Do you think Asad and Zoya will be opposed to getting married...to each other?" He asked. Anwar and Zeenat tried their best to contain their smiles as their fish caught bait.
"Hmm, that's a good idea actually." Zeenat said.
"Yes, if our priority is to keep Zoya safe then she can't be any safer than when she is with Asad. We could send them off somewhere and keep tracks on them to ensure no one finds them." Anwar said.
"Plus, I don't think anyone could keep Zoya happier than Asad...I mean he knows everything about her. And we know him so well."
"Exactly, he is practically a son to me." Ghafoor nodded, feeling stupid having not thought of this before.
"I can't believe we didn't think of this before." Zeenat said.
"Me too." Ghafoor said. "Let's hope the kids agree." He added.
Zeenat beamed at Anwar behind her father's back, phase two is now complete.
X-X-X-X-X
"Allah Miyah, did you know that the last one would be pregnant?" Zoya gasped as they pulled out of the driveway behind her father's car.
"That was like icing on the cake."
"Ya Allah, what a douchebag!"
"It worked perfectly for us, we didn't even have to do anything!" Asad quipped happily.
"Now let's hope that abbu takes bait." Zoya sighed.
"What do you want to eat?" Asad asked.
"PIZZA!" Zoya yelled.
"Why did I even bother asking, if you had your way you'd have pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner." He laughed.
"And I'd have you for dessert." Zoya laughed waggling her eyebrows and she clapped gleefully at the rare sight of Asad Ahmed Khan blushing. "You're blushing. YES! SUCCESS!"
"What am I going to do with you?" He laughed pulling up in front of Zoya's favourite pizza place.
"Love me." She smiled leaning over the gear shift and kissing his cheek. He smiled and turned to face her, their faces only an inch apart. He moved closer to her, cupping her face between his hands and looking at her lovingly.
"Always." He whispered as his lips made contact with hers. Zoya smiled, her arms finding their way around his shoulders and her hands locking behind his neck as his lips moved against hers. There was no awkwardness or fumbling, it was sweet and perfect, like they were experienced lovers that knew what worked for them, they fit perfectly.
"I love you." Zoya whispered smiling.
"I love you too." He smiled back. "Now let's go get us some pizza."
Asad got out of the car and went around to her side holding her door open for her.
"Oh well thank you, kind sir." Zoya giggled.
"You are quite welcome, my lady."
Zoya in a pizza shop was a sight to behold, she leaned over the counter and speculated what toppings to get on her pizza for a really long time, as if it was a life-altering decision. In the end Asad ended up having to order for her. "We'll get one with just chicken, a second one with the four base cheese and a third one with mushrooms and black olives. Oh and all of them with the stuffed crust please."
"But Asad who's going to eat so much-"
"Hush." Asad said placing his finger on her mouth. "I know you can finish a whole pizza by yourself if you really wanted to." He said.
"Well I can't argue with that." She shrugged as he sat down on a chair by the wall. Zoya decided that the chairs couldn't be as comfy as his lap and sat in it sideways so she could see him.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Helping you become accustomed to public displays of affection. I am going to cling to you like second skin." She teased.
"I don't mind at all." He said wrapping his arms around her waist. "Especially the clinging part...without any clothes of course." He whispered the last part causing her to let out a gasp and whack him.
"Allah Miyah what's wrong with you?" She groaned.
"You forget that I spent most of my teenage hormonal life and the subsequent years pining for you. And that includes imagining you naked." He waggled his eyebrows. "Don't try to act so innocent Zoya, I have a feeling I am not alone."
"You may be right...there may have been some imagining of licking you. Everywhere." She teased and then blushed when the guy at the counter called for them, she had completely forgotten where they were.
X-X-X-X
Asad's crazy driving skills ensured that they followed only a few minutes behind the rest of the family albeit having stopped for pizza.
"Remember, you have to look sad. Stop grinning!" Asad said as they pulled up behind the other car in front of the mansion.
"You wipe that smirk off your face." She said before stepping out of the car. "Oh and the lipgloss!" She said pushing the door shut.
Asad shook his head but wiped his lips with his sleeve...just in case before grabbing the pizza boxes and following Zoya into the house. He had to stifle a small smile when he noticed that she slouched a little as they stepped into the door, almost as if she was stepping into character.
The house was quiet, no sound came from the dining room where Ghafoor, Anwar and Zeenat were sitting. All of their eyes shot up to Zoya as she walked into the room, looking dejected. And then their eyes went to Asad who was looking at Zoya a bit sadly.
"We got pizza." Asad announced and put the boxes on the table. Zeenat grabbed and opened them allowing everyone to get what they wanted. Zoya sat down with Asad next to her and grabbed a slice. Ghafoor watched surprised as his daughter picked up only one slice of pizza rather than piling her plate like she usually did.
"I would like to talk to you...both of you actually." Ghafoor said looking towards Zoya and Asad.
"What happened?" Zoya asked.
"I wanted to apologize...I didn't know that Akram...well." Ghafoor said trailing off leaving the rest to their comprehension.
"It's okay, it's better we found out before though." Zoya nodded sadly.
"Well yes, but you must realize that an engagement has already been announced...and well I want you to get married and leave this place Zoya." Ghafoor said sadly.
"Are you asking me to marry Akram after everything that happened?" Zoya gasped.
"NO!" Ghafoor said quickly. "I had someone else in mind, unless something has changed and you like someone else?"
"Nothing has changed." Zoya said.
"Uh, well, uhm, Zoya...Asad, how do you two feel about getting married...to each other?" He asked, feeling nervous. He watched as Zoya and Asad's mouths fell open and they looked at each other.
"Well...uh, can we talk about this?" Zoya asked looking back to her father who nodded. Zoya pushed her chair back and motioned for Asad to get up. He nodded and followed her out of the dining room.
"What if they say no?" Ghafoor asked Zeenat, she just shrugged and rolled her eyes internally, her father was in fact blind when it came to love or he would have noticed that they were in love with each other years ago.
X-X-X-X
"Why do we need to talk about it? We could have just said yes-"
"That's suspicious!" Zoya said walking into the living room and closing the French doors behind her. She jumped up and down on the couch and started whisper-yelling yipeee!'.
"Zoya are you crazy? Get down from there!" He groaned pulling her down and straightening the sofa.
"You are still so OCD." She groaned.
"That and the fact that you'll probably end up tripping over air and breaking your own nose." He said.
"You are such a Debbie-downer!" She said as she pushed Asad onto the couch and straddled him.
"And what exactly are you doing?" He smiled wrapping his arms around her and resting his hands on the small of her back.
"This is how we will have all of our discussions from here on out." She answered wrapping her arms around his neck.
"And what are we discussing?"
"Our wedding of course! Allah Miyah, what's wrong with you?" She gasped.
"Zoya, will you marry me?" He asked.
"ALLAH MIYAH. What's wrong with you Asad?" She groaned. "Ugh, you are emotionally challenged!"
"What?"
"That is not how you propose!" She said looking at him and shaking her head.
"Well I am sorry that I don't have experience proposing." He said sarcastically.
"Try again, something better...something more heartfelt." She said.
"Uh...woh..."
"Ugh, shut up and repeat what I say." Zoya said holding his face between her hands. "Zoya, you are the most beautiful woman in this world."
"Zoya, you are the most beautiful woman in this world." He repeated smiling.
"I'll always keep you happy." She added.
"I'll always keep you happy." He repeated back.
"I'll make you breakfast in bed everyday."
"What?" Asad asked.
"I didn't say what, I said I'll make you breakfast in bed everyday."
"Seriously Zoya?"
"Yesss."
"Fine, I'll make you breakfast in bed everyday."
"I'll never leave you or let you go." Zoya whispered rubbing his cheek in circular motion with her thumbs.
"I'll never leave you or let you go." He repeated and then covered her lips with his finger before continuing. "I'll always stay by your side and keep you happy. I know I'll make mistakes because I am emotionally challenged, but I promise I'll tell you that I love you everyday for the rest of our lives. Zoya, will you marry me and make me the happiest man in this universe?" He asked.
Zoya nodded smiling and teared up but decided to tease him a bit more. "That depends..."
"On?"
"If you have a ring..."
"I might." He smiled coyly.
"WAIT WHY DO YOU HAVE A RING?" Zoya gasped.
"My mom had a whole set of things she wanted to give her daughter-in-law, all in her locker at the bank, I thought it was time to grab one essential thing from there." He smiled.
"Is that where you went yesterday?" Zoya asked.
He nodded and smiled reaching into the inside of his coat pocket and pulled out a ring. It was simple, a single square diamond outlined with smaller diamonds and a thin band but it was the most beautiful ring that Zoya had ever seen.
"Let me do this properly." He said lifting her off his lap and placing her on the sofa before getting up. Zoya smiled as he bent down on one knee in front of her. "Will you marry me?" He asked.
"Of course I will!" She smiled as he slid the ring onto a finger.
"It's a perfect fit." He smiled. "Which is weird since you have fat fingers."
"HEY! My fingers are gorgeous okay!"
"They are, and very soft." He smiled. "Now, you better hide that hand in your pocket for a while until we tomorrow or your abbu will be suspicious."
Zoya nodded and got up throwing her arms around his neck and fusing her lips to his. "I love you." She whispered against them.
"I love you too." He smiled.
X-X-X-X
1.5 Years Later
"Aww, just watch her dad is going to take her to him." Zoya sniffled as she lay on the bed beside her husband, watching yet another chick flick with a bowl of popcorn on her stomach.
"Well obviously, this is a Bollywood movie."
"But it's just so sweet." She said, a sob breaking out.
"Zoya, shhh. Why are you crying again?" He asked.
"Again?" She asked. "Allah Miyah, what's wrong with you? This is all your fault. I am a hormonal mess here. I want to cry when I am happy, I want to cry when I am sad or confused, I even want to cry when I want to cry." She cried and then quietened all of a sudden, her eyes growing wide.
"What's wrong?" Asad asked panicking and shooting up right.
Zoya picked up the popcorn bowl off her stomach and put it to the side before taking his hand and placing it on her protruding stomach, Asad looked at her confused but then he felt it. A little sensation, almost as if someone was knocking on her stomach.
"He's kicking!" He said surprised.
"He is!" Zoya smiled. "Ahhh, this is so exciting. I love you little man." She said caressing her stomach softly.
"I love you too." Asad said speaking to her stomach. "But we need to talk, man to man, you can kick all you want now but please don't keep your ammi awake at night, she likes her sleep."
"I like you." Zoya said waggling her eyebrows at him and kissing his cheek.
"Well that's good because I love you Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan." He grinned pecking her lips.
"Good. Now go get me some red velvet ice-cream, oh oh and the phone! I want to tell abbu that his grandson is kicking me."
"He's probably on the flight by now." Asad pointed out.
"Oh true, I guess we'll just wait for him to get here then." Zoya pouted. "How long is the flight from India to here?"
"About 8 hours."
"ALLAH MIYAH! I can't hold this information in for eight hours. Give me the phone, I'll call Aapi!" Zoya said.
And they lived happily ever after. Obviously, because I am a sucker for happy endings. That was a fun ride, I hope you all enjoyed it as well.
IMPORTANT: I need your opinion on one thing, I have a few ideas going around in my head for stories. I was thinking of writing a FF with AsYa and SaHil but I was going to make Zoya and Sanam twins rather than mother-daughter and Asad + Aahil friends or cousins. Is that something you guys could digest? Please do let me knowww! :)
